Chapter 3:

3rd Bullet: Tough Girl Tilly (Craze and TriggerHAPPY)

KILLRIGHTS

"Down the merry laaand! Stood tall a man in black! His guns banged through the dark niiight! With a boom, boom, boom under the changing eye! Men armed themselves but to their plight, the man in black remained tall that night!"  Vadars screeched a couple of steps into the cave. Before he could walk another couple of paces, Tilly yanked his hair. He yelped in pain and snapped his head around to glare at her, having a rather sour expression painted across his face .

"Just what the hell do you think you're doing?" she asked curtly.

"Singing. Never heard of singing?" Vadars questioned.

"I have. That's not what I— you know what I mean, Killright."

"You could really mean anything, you know."

She had enough. "Just why are you going after that guy!?"

He sighed and lazily turned his body around. The setting sun shone his face, revealing his now died down energetic face. "I'm going to beat the hell outta that Desperado. You do know that's a Killright's job, right?"

Tilly's face now had something he'd never seen before. Concern. "I get that but you're a rookie, Vadars. Yeah, you took out a bunch of those foot soldiers but even I know they're completely different from that looney. If you fight him without any sort of plan or back up, you'll die."

He scoffed. "I'm trained for this kinda stuff, Tilly. If I wasn't capable, I wouldn't be walking down this mine to go find him." He turned around and continued his walking.

"Bullshit." Tilly said before catching up to him. "At least let me come with you. You don't know where the cave-in happened so the best I can do is help find where it is."

He shrugged, not turning to face her and Tilly walked by his side.

The deeper they went into the mine, the huger the place began to rise. The earth towered over them like trees and buildings. Spiders and other creatures of the home shrilled and skittered. Every step and rock they leapt over, the mine began to toy with them. It was awfully creepy. It reminded her of that time she ran in to go look for her mother because she was working overtime. She got lost and hid behind a rock for sometime before she was found by her. She was scolded harshly by her, a slap on the face and everything but she ultimately knew it was because he mother cared for her. She smiled gently to herself. That was a warm time.

But now she had a barely qualified Killright with a sword as big as his whole body singing in the caves like a moronic busker. He was a really horrible singer, this one. Extremely tone-deaf. But to say she didn't feel safe would be a lie. Despite his brash and brazen attitude, way more than her, she knew she had nothing to fear.

After Vadars had run out of songs, she dug up the courage to ask.

"How did you get that cross-stitch?"

Vadars chuckled and smiled. Well, it was hard to tell due to the lack of light, the only source coming from a glow that was from Vadars gripping his sword handle but she knew he was grinning ear to ear.

"It was a lesson I learned from my captain, the grumpy old man you saw next to me."

She instantly went jelly. "Yeah~... He's really dashing. Perhaps I could talk to him when this is all done?"

Vadars made a blech sound that was followed by a disappointing groan. He took a step over a large rock. She followed after.

"Trust me, my captain is the wrong guy to be swooning after."

"What? He seems so mature. Exactly my type in a man."

They skipped over a stream and hopped over a huge puddle.

"Well you should change your type." Vadars jabbed in, "You're gonna be in for some heartache."

She smiled to herself. "I like 'em hard to get. No easy man would be suited for me."

Vadars stopped and looked back. "You want some advice? Ditch the bearded guys. Most of them are either fake tough guys or self-centred assholes."

"So, what? Boys my age are so plain and boring. Such babies too."

"You talking about fatso?"

"Cletus is a nice guy, really. I mean, I've been protecting him from bullies since he was a young lad. He's obviously not who I wanna be with."

"You do realize he likes you."

She moaned in a miffed tone. "Yeah, I know."

"You ought to tell him. Poor guy's gonna get his heart sick if you keep on baiting him like this."

They carefully crossed the small foot spaces in the tracks. They close together, shoulder to shoulder, the walls pressing them together.

"Well..." Tilly murmured. "I'll get to it."

Vadars exited the tight space. "You better tell him soon or else he's gonna be love sick for—"

Tilly suddenly tripped and fell into his chest causing him to stumble back and lean against a wall, her hands low, on the turf fence, right next to his hips. She looked up and saw his rugged face and contrastingly sharp eyes.

"Life..." Vadars meekly finished.

She blinked.

He blinked.

A large explosion went off far ahead that caused them search for the cause of the noise. Up ahead, a red glow burned in the deep cavern. Vadars, Death Arm slung a crossed his back, quickly hurried over to view the site. Tilly lagged behind and cowered behind some cover.

There stood the Desperado and the foot soldiers rapidly slashing at the colossal stone barrier that separated him from his desired prize.

"Hurry it up! That Death Matter is juicy! If you don't get it done—"

He grabbed a soldier's head and crushed it. His jaw then unhinged, opening to a unreal length before swallowing the soldier in nasty and crushing bites. They could hear the bones crunch and the flesh slice and mince against his teeth. Pools of red blood splashed onto the ground and a large swallow sounded off.

"I'll start feeding you all instead. All of you."

Vadars grimaced at the sight and he grabbed his Death Arm. The stinging feeling coming from the Desperado was even more overwhelming than ever. He looked back to see Tilly frozen in fear, her eyes widened and her face pale. Sweat was flowing down her face like rain. The tough girl wasn't so tough after all.

Vadars then looked back to see the tattooed monster, his crinkled nose touching his.

"My meals." His teeth grew into the most sinister and grim face Vadars had ever seen.

Tilly sailed across the air and slammed into a wall as the Desperado launched a kick straight into Vadars. The Killright tumbled against the ground but he soon flew himself up and was greeted by another barrelling blow, a bone crushing punch lancing through his body. He cried out and fixed his stance, planting himself on the earth and swinging his Death Arm, bashing it into the Desperado. The tattooed Grim Reaper backed off, his long body towering over him. He had to be 7'4. Maybe taller. His arms were long like a spider's but hit like a bear. The nasty-bladed Scythe was still latched on his back and the cloak billowed in the air.

Vadars gripped his Death Arm and grunted in pain.

"You Killrights are surprisingly durable. All of you, so strong, so calculated yet so tasty. Every time my tongue is drizzled by your warm blood and soft organs, my belly just leaps and flies in delight. But you, my boy, are a bit more, how do I say it? Rough." He walked closer, arms spread and head lolling side to side at every word. "What do you taste like? Chewy? Maybe you're one of those, crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. Let me have a taste, would you, my boy?"

"How about I make you swallow your own heart? I'm sure you'll get that grade-A, dining experience. Or maybe it's because your heart is as black as sin so it'd probably taste like spoiled milk."

The Desperado stopped. His smile dropped. It then returned.

"What a mouth." A loud laugh ensued before the smiling mood dropped like a pin. "My name is Gottfried der Fresser. But you can call me Feast. I hope your jokes are as good as your taste."

"My blade is a good main course," Vadars said before bounding straight at Feast, bashing his large sword, over and over. Feast raised his arms and blocked the strikes, only pushing him back feebly. Vadars switched to a low attack, sweeping at the knees but the lanky yet nimble savage jumped and shot a kick out, knocking Vadars back.

With a stumbling stance, Vadars raised his guard only to receiving hammering fist that struck down from the heavens. He laid on the ground, his Death Arm loose in the grip of his hands. His nose exploded with blood and another hammering blow arrived.

Then another.

Then another.

He picked up Vadars by the head and observed him.

"You know, I was expecting more of challenge. I thought if I fought you, your taste'll improve but I was lied to. You lied to me, Killright." Feast then look down to see the Death Arm. "I've never seen a Killright with a sword before. Way too big too and it's outdated as hell. All of them had pistols, machine guns, all the sorts but you... hmph... Different."

Dropping Vadars, he walked over to Tilly and licked his teeth hungrily. He lifted up her unconscious figure and unhinged his jaw to envelope her whole face but a loud shout had risen from behind him.

"VULSHOCK!!"

A large flame blasted Feast but he remained unharmed. He simply stared at Vadars and a bullet shot through his head. Feast dropped Tilly and screeched in pain. He wildly whipped his head to see the shooter but even more shots rained down on him. He scurried away and looked up to see a man sliding down a pile of rocks holding a Magnum.

It was Captain Mitchell Rosner.

Feast's face dropped and soon snarled once more.

Rosner looked ahead and raised his pistol, Seeker locked on dead ahead on Feast.

SHORT HIATUS OF KILLRIGHTS (Author's Note)

Hello dear readers. It's me, Azemichi. I'm sorry to announce that Killrights will be on a four day (maybe longer) break due to my health and school. I recently have been back to school and so my enormous amounts of schoolwork.

As for my health... GAAAH, I woke up in excruciating pain. I may have to go to th4 doctor soon. Uuuughhh... I can barely operate.

Anyway...

I've never really been a good student but just decent enough to pass on by so please don't leave. The ending is rushed because I want to get this chapter out to my rising amount of readers. Thank you for you reading. I hope I may write for you all again. Soon. I won't be gone forever so expect a chapter this Friday or Saturday.

I have to go. Thank you, all of you. Words can't describe how happy I am that people like reading this series.
