Chapter 6:
Sakura falling bloom,Yuuhikaresu dawn of dusk.(Sakura series 0.5)
SAKURA
I am finding it so hard to reconcile all the images of this woman I see.
She ,I witnessed it just now in her first life was a tragic case.
Never having a chance over being born under a blood moon, not even fully witnessing that young child dying......
That thief was truly a misunderstood hero, most people after seeing the child near death in a hole being wanted by the authorities of that era and still risking his life for her.
All her memories of him and her father(though so few that they are blurry to view even like how I am,whatever it is anyway)are like looking at a happy sunshine, once she turned thirteen things truly changed for the worse.
"You never said so much as a word to me that all of these awful things happened to you,but what is seeing all of this supposed to mean? You are not the sort to have done so much over so long a time out of pain.."
I say that in my mind then I stop myself as my own memories start to resurface.
Recalling a time I returned to when I...married Tennami?I returned and only did so to slay him screaming at him over a child I barely remember except a scene of a window comes to my min-
"Are you trying to undo something?Trying to stop the people that beat and raped you as a girl? What are you trying to undo?"
The memories the more I speak the slower they are seen as I reach a time that is of great suspicion even to this day,Honno-ji.
I watch as a young man races into a burning estate, unseen by many guards and even a great young vassal I read about fails to catch sight of this farmer(how do I know that?)who has Oda Nobunaga on his shoulders, taking him after onto his horse then to disappear within the smoke of a historical question mark.
"What!?"
My grandmother watches on at a distance, never seeing the man or the leader.
No.
The next day I see her,she has her kimono tattered in every place to secure attention and distraction from the merchants who by the morning light will be heading into the town that day.The fire contained now and the chaos still brimming yet money never can cease for a loss it seems.
Personal or no.
It makes my heart hurt suddenly, really and truly after I see her lay eyes on that young man.
Morning time,he looks exhausted trying to work the field and from what the other memories starting to mix in he,Nagareboshi Otoii, thought she would find Nobunaga and tell his people or enemies possibly he lived but the eyes she had on sight of him were like diamonds that finally came to the light.
He would try to stop her from returning every morning,no matter what words gentle or harsh she would remain constant in returning to him.
Her presence once she hinted in the village of her birth left that area of the field to be'Cursed'ensuring that no threat ever came through to harm Nobunagas recovery, which he used to fully manipulate this young gentle farmer into actually believing that he would become a true successor.
Those memories are awful yet not so painful as watching them over a month becoming so close without even really any talking or anything but a few words and a moment that lasted not long enough to her.
That brief kiss in the field.
Another the next day that ended up being futile of comfort to him but it was enough for her to never stop again.
To never stop until Nagareboshi gets to be what he was told he would be.
"Do you know that with my blood in your veins, the strength of my line and the vicious nature of your mothers we can and will bring this nation into greater power! There is no one else now,my son is a fool and Ran can no longer watch around every corner as my hand...You and I will create a world far better. You and I.Let Akechi have a few moments of freedom and victory, you will hunt him in anothers name and take his head!Teach fools that it does not benefit even in my death to cross me....Death can not stop me,Or you, now."
He truly knows hope to make a meek young man with aspirations of honor to feel like a giant or a great leader.....
He even made himself seen by the young mans adopted father who was a supporter of Akechi Mitsuhide,to ensure that any words would only benefit his own cause.
Wow.
Oh what kind of history did you have and make Grandmother?
