War ranking game

Episode 1 – Login

Ryo lives in a poor neighborhood and spends most of his time in internet cafés and on old cell phones. The online shooter game is the only thing that makes him forget his problems.

Ryo:

— In the game… I’m someone.

For the first time, he enters the server seriously, playing ranked mode. Even with basic equipment, he defeats several experienced players.

Miu (chat):

— Hey, you play way too well for a beginner.

Ryo doesn’t reply. He just keeps playing.

At the end of the day, a message appears on his screen:

Invitation received: Shooters’ Guild.

Episode 2 – The Invitation

Ryo accepts the invitation and enters a private lobby. Several players watch him in silence.

Guild Leader:

— You don’t seem afraid at all. I like that.

Ryo:

— Fear just gets in the way.

Miu joins the voice call.

Miu:

— So… you got invited too.

They realize they aren’t alone. A third player enters the room—red and black hair, calm attitude.

Friend:

— If we’re going to climb the rankings… it’s better to do it together.

Episode 3 – First Mission

The trio enters their first official match as a team. The level is already higher.

Miu:

— These guys don’t miss.

Ryo:

— Then we can’t miss either.

They win by a narrow margin. The ranking rises quickly.

After the match:

Friend:

— This isn’t just a game.

Ryo feels a strange chill run through his stomach.
