Chapter 133:
Reincarnated as a Fisherman and a Dad
Reincarnated as a Fisherman and a Dad Chapter 133
Later that day, dinner arrived and the family ate happily. The couple was responsible for feeding the twins, a chore that was fun because the twins were not choosy about what they ate. Their eager eyes followed every spoonful. They were like baby birds, leaning forward with their mouths opening wide.
After dinner, Karlos opened a cold bottle of beer from the refrigerator. It was just one bottle, nothing serious. He let out a soft, satisfied sigh after the first sip. The cold bitterness tasted so good.
When they went to bed, Karlos couldn’t help but feel nostalgic. He was lost but now he was found.
“Babe, thank you for marrying me. I’m the luckiest guy in the world. I love you.” He shifted closer to Maya, brushing a strand of hair from Maya’s face.
He was unsure of the future. He was afraid that he wouldn’t be able to give Maya and the twins a good life. He was just a simple guy who once had nothing.
But today, the fruit of his hard work had finally materialized. God knew how happy he was.
At last, they had a proper house, a place that belonged to them. A strong roof to protect them from the rain, and sturdy walls to shield them from the wind.
Maya looked at her husband. Karlos was obviously drunk and emotional, his eyes softer than usual. Her lips curled upward.
“When I married you, I already knew you were the person I wanted to spend my life with. I know you’re scared. I was scared too. We didn’t know what the future held. We were young and didn’t understand how life truly worked. If I could return to the past, I would still make the same decision. Karlos, I will never regret marrying you. You’re the best thing that ever happened to me. I love you.”
“Hm,” Karlos nodded. He was so happy to hear Maya’s reassurance.
The two stared into each other’s eyes as if time had slowed down. If not for the twins sleeping between them, they might have already done the “mattress mambo.”
Left with no choice, they went to the bathroom and shared a passionate night filled with suppressed laughter and moans.

“Congratulations, you have a house,” Brandon said as he congratulated Karlos while stepping onto the boat. The two had been working together for months, and their coordination had improved greatly. Their friendship had also grown stronger.
“Thanks. I believe you’ll have a house of your own in the future too,” Karlos said with a happy grin.
Brandon laughed. If Karlos had said that half a year ago, he would have brushed it off as a joke.
But now, Brandon was seriously considering the possibility. The idea no longer felt ridiculous.
Earning a decent amount of money, Brandon naturally opened a bank account, something he had never imagined doing before. He actually had no idea what he was doing when the bank teller asked him questions. Even writing his information was a hassle.
He saved about seventy percent of his earnings, as Brandon was not the type to spend money freely. He had been poor just half a year ago and understood the importance of money too well.
Last week, he visited the bank to deposit money and was shocked when he saw his savings.
700,000 pesos, a number that didn’t feel real.
Brandon was so shocked that his crossed eyes nearly popped out. He couldn’t believe it. It was an enormous amount of money. He was happy, but also scared, unsure of what to do with it.
Now that Karlos mentioned the possibility of owning a house, Brandon began to entertain the idea seriously. He had the money, after all.
However, he didn’t want to leave his parents alone. He loved them deeply.
'But if I show clear signs that I have money, my brother and sister will definitely ask for some,' he sighed.
His older brother and sister weren’t poor, yet they shamelessly leached off their parents. Gomez and Carmine still provided them with food and some money even though they were already retired. It was a burden Brandon carried silently. He understood that his parents were simply being kind and felt responsible for their children.
However, his brother and sister were no longer young. They were capable adults with jobs. Brandon couldn’t understand why they kept asking for money and food. Did they take Gomez and Carmine for granted?
They were taking advantage of their elderly parents. Brandon wanted to confront them about their behavior, but he knew his parents wouldn’t take it well, and that stopped him.
Just yesterday, the box of canned goods he had bought for food storage disappeared without him knowing. He had only eaten two cans before his brother and sister took the rest without asking.
That was why Brandon was hesitant to reveal his wealth. He knew that once they found out, his siblings would start asking him for money.
'I need to save more before making any decisions. I can buy land or renovate our old house instead.'
As for his parents’ house, everyone agreed that Brandon would inherit it since he was the one who supported them emotionally and financially. Still, Brandon wasn’t sure his siblings would respect that decision once their parents were gone. For now, Gomez and Carmine were in good health, and inheritance wasn’t an immediate concern.
As Brandon pondered his situation, the boat reached their usual spot and the engine slowed down.
Just like always, they began their work by pulling up the traps to catch lobsters.
'I can’t believe it. Is this island really this abundant? These lobsters have been appearing nonstop for months now. Our catch hasn’t decreased much at all.' Brandon was speechless.
He didn’t remember this area being so rich in resources. The nearby seas had long been explored and ransacked, and logically, this island should have been the same.
“Even the abalones, we’ve been harvesting them for half a year, yet more keep appearing on the reefs.” The pattern unsettled him.
The abalones were smaller than the ones they first caught, but they were still large enough to sell at the market for a profit.
'It’s as if the island has something that attracts these ocean creatures.'
Brandon glanced at Karlos. He wasn’t sure if Karlos had noticed anything strange or understood what was happening. In the end, Brandon chose not to say anything and kept his thoughts to himself.
