Chapter 6:

My, My~ What an Adorable Human~

Summoning a Nekomata in Modern Times: I was sick of my boring office life, and decided to try my hand at magic again.

Kissuragi sank gracefully onto the gravel, her tail now split in two as she wrapped one around my waist to prevent me from landing hard. The sky was a dark reddish-gray, ash and soot floating in the air like snow. Before us stood three Yasha yokai, clad in armor around their chests and pelvic muscles. Swords gripped in each hand, they seemed to be after me in particular. They could sense that I was human, and they wanted me eliminated as soon as possible. I hate to admit, but for bare-chested, blue-skinned demons, they were absurdly handsome.

"Nya, if it isn't the pathetic Yashas. I hate to break it to you, but this is my turf."
Kissuragi smirked confidently, a low growl escaping her lips as her two tails puffed. Her ears flattened against her head, and she was beginning to transform into something otherworldly.

Her silver fur began to protrude from her body, her forearm muscles expanding outward while her claws extended. Kissuragi was ready for a fight.

"Nekomata, we wish you no harm. It seems that human behind you snuck into our realm. We simply mean to eliminate her posthaste."
The tall, blue Yasha spoke in a deep tone, his movements stiff and calculated.

"She didn't sneak in, Meow. She's with me."
Kissuragi's eyes narrowed.
"Back off, now!"
She growled.

"I am afraid we cannot fulfill your request to, and I quote, 'Back off.' You know the rule about letting humans wander into this realm."
The Yashas, in unison, raised their swords. They moved much like synchronized swimmers, or choreographed dancers, dropping low into a battle stance.

"Oh, I'm very aware of the rule. But as you know, I love a bit of mischief."
Kissuragi leapt forward in a flash, silver streaks of fire whooshing in her wake.

"Mischief does not sit well with us, Nekomata."
The three Yashas countered her kick, their swords clinking in harmony as they deflected.

"Nya, too bad! I am this human's familiar, so therefore I am required to protect her until our pact is severed."
Kissuragi slashed at one of the Yasha, particularly the large leader. I watched as his abdomen sliced clean open, his dark blood spraying in every direction before he collapsed.

The other Yasha didn't seem very surprised, nor did they take time to mourn their fallen brother. They simply carried on as if death were completely normal; as if it were just another bug being squashed by a shoe.

"Kissuragi-sama, please be careful!"

"Nya, I am fine, Mamimi. These Yasha stand no chance against me in my natural habitat."

Kissuragi cast a fire spell, sending a thin beam of silver flame toward the next Yasha.

An impressive dodge from the Yasha, but Kissuragi wasn't letting up. Her claws met the edge of their swords with inhuman speed and precision, the sound of scraping metal shrilling through the air.

"Enough fooling around, Nekomata! The rules are the rules!"
The two Yashas managed to trap Kissuragi between the floor and their blades. Kissuragi smirked confidently, her hands each bound to the floor by one of their opposing feet.

"Nya? You think this affects me? Come forth, minions of the underworld!"
Kissuragi shouted.

Suddenly, the floor beneath us began to crumble. I let out a startled yelp, falling flat on my ass while hundreds of undead yokai soldiers emerged. The undead began to howl and groan, wildly slashing at the Yasha brothers and forming a protective circle around me.

This must be Kissuragi's necromancy. Wow, it's even more impressive to see it firsthand.

"Nya-ha-ha! Arise, my precious demons!"
Kissuragi cackled, placing both hands on her hips while her soldiers did all the hard work for her.

It was my first time seeing necromancy in person, as crazy of a sentence as that is. While I trusted Kissuragi to keep both of us safe, the sight of rotting, decrepit demons surrounding me was a bit frightening. Combined with the brutality they displayed while battling the Yasha, I was praying that I would make it out of this realm alive.

"Oh, my. Has my little sister returned home? My, my~ Meow~"
A sweet, motherly voice rang out from behind me. I stumbled to my feet, turning to see the source of such angelic vocals.

"Nya. If it isn't Fukuragi! I was just looking for you when these Yasha decided to battle me."

No way! This... absolute goddess is Fukuragi?! But she's so... calm and polite! Not to mention, such gorgeous features on her curvy frame!

"My, my~ Meow~ What an adorable human~"
The Maneki-Neko, known as Fukuragi, bowed her head gracefully, her hair slipping down her face and shoulders.
"Nice to meet you, Nya~ I am Kissu's elder sister, Fukuragi~"

She had long, golden hair. Her eyes were the same bright shade of yellow as Kissuragi's, and her facial features were nearly identical, but showed much more maturity and fullness. Her body was much bigger than Kissuragi's, a large, bouncy chest with hips that even her purple yukata couldn't hide. Fukuragi was a certified beauty!

"N-nice to meet you too! I am Kissuragi-sama's master, Aoki Mamimi."
I nervously bowed my head, watching as Fukuragi's kind smile radiated.

"Hm? Kissu chose to be your familiar? Nya~ That's certainly surprising! Kissu hasn't had a master since the witch~"
Fukuragi giggled with her angelic voice.
"Meow~ I must ask, you call her Kissuragi-sama, even though she is your familiar?"

"T-that's right. Kissuragi-sama spared my life, so I feel indebted to call her sama."
I blushed slightly, finding my own reason a bit childish.

"My, my~ But Kissu cannot kill her master. It is the most basic of basics. Once a pact is formed, Nya, a familiar may never end their master's life."
Fukuragi, once again, giggled softly.

"What?! Then why have I been living in fear this whole time?!"
My eyes darted to Kissuragi, who was whistling a tune while turning her head the opposite direction.

"Nya! I... may have left out a few details, Mamimi."
Kissuragi smirked.

"You... rotten yokai! I've been worried sick that you would kill me for not feeding you!"
I felt the rage in my eyes burst forth, but Fukuragi only seemed to giggle harder.

"Nye-he! Please try not to take Kissu too seriously, Aoki-chan. My sister has a knack for causing mischief to get her way~"
Fukuragi stepped closer, enveloping me in a maternal embrace.

She stroked my hair, her plump chest pressing firmly into my cheeks as she whispered,
"Good girl~ There, there~"

I felt my face begin to steam, yet I couldn't pull away from such a loving smothering.

Praise Fukuragi! Praise big-chested yokai!

"Now, why don't we settle this over sashimi? Kissu is making that face when she knows she needs a favor from her big sis~"
Fukuragi's eyes narrowed sweetly, her adorable cat-shaped lips grinning as she caught her own sister in her web.

"Meow... I guess I won't turn down sashimi."
Kissuragi puffed her cheeks, not entirely denying her sister's claim.

"Meow, indeed! Your little sister has been wondering where you ran off to these past couple of days~"
Fukuragi began to walk, keeping me close to her as we stepped over the bodies of the fallen Yasha.

"That damn Bakeneko. It's none of her business where I've been, Nya."
Kissuragi huffed, keeping in line behind us.

"Bakeneko? Fukuragi-sama, did you just say Bakeneko is you and Kissuragi-sama's little sister?"
I gazed up at her tall frame, watching her lips curl around a smile.

She nodded,
"Why, yes~ All of us Neko yokai are related, whether siblings or relatives~ Come forth, Aoki-chan, let us head to my home where we can feast~"

I suppose sashimi sounds better than bread and jam. It was Kissuragi-sama's idea to come here in the first place, so I feel a bit bad for intruding. At least Fukuragi seems nice; she's got a good head on her shoulders. Unlike some yokai I know.

"Meow? Why are you looking at me with such annoyance, Mamimi?"
Kissuragi pounced forward to catch up.

"Hmph! No reason... Usoneko."
I muttered.

"What?! Nya! How dare you call me a lying cat! I simply... forgot to mention the specifics! Take it back!"
Kissuragi hissed, tugging at my arm with just enough force to rattle me.

"Now, now~ Let's all try to get along~"
Fukuragi giggled, leading us further into the depths of the demon world. Whatever tribulations awaited me with the mysterious Bakeneko, I was eternally grateful to have Fukuragi by my side.

Praise motherly yokai!
