“These are the declassified personal logs, duty reports, soldier accounts, observational data, research documents and others from soldiers to commanders. Collated and organized, this documents the Bloody Meteor War on both the HOPE and ECF fronts of the conflict. The hope is that the lessons of this dark period of our history can educate and prevent tensions today.

“The world is a dangerous place for humans. Differences in politics, cultures, beliefs and values will always separate us. That which divides creates conflict. War is eternal. History would teach that believing anything else is blind naivety.

“But fighting must not be the only action. Dialogue and cooperation are needed for survival. The universe is unforgiving. And we can’t stop striving to change and grow past our differences. War may be a constant companion in dark times, however as a mentor of mine once told me ‘You aren’t limited to just one friend on the road of life.’ If war journeys with us into the future, we must with the other hand embrace peace.

“This is the hope I have found buried within the void of cycles of revenge and hatred.

“The irony of such a word isn’t lost on me. But I wish for those who read to find that hope as well.

“Space is cold. You’re going to need something to warm you in that beautiful night.”
