Yu Hariko. A sixteen-year-old boy who studied in Greanna High School.
He was a generic guy. Don't really have many friends, but do like to hang out with people. Among his peers, he didn't stand out.

His appearance also didn't help. He has slightly long, messy black hair, and he was seen as a rebellious kid, especially with the girls. His face always had an angry vibe, making him even more unapproachable.

His friends? They were just there because they didn't want him to be left out. They kept pushing and pulling him to do teenager stuff. Yu liked it. He felt happy that he didn't feel alone in this world. People acknowledged him.

Every day, Yu spent most of his time studying and didn't really have any other hobbies.
Traveling with family? He declined.
Went to a beach in the summer? He declined.
School trip to places? He declined.

He was just that kind of guy.

He had a secret, though. A secret that wasn't very secret anymore. He had a crush. She was someone he never spoke to. Heck, he had always tried his best not look at her face.

Fate worked strangely; he had been in the same class as her for a decade. He was shocked that it could do that. Not that he was complaining.

His friend teased him every day, asking him to try talk to her. He respectfully declined. They even tried to bait him to meet her. He respectfully refused.

From his friends' perspective, Yu was an easygoing guy, but when it came to girls, he always pussied out. They understood it, but...

As James always said, "If he never started, there would never be them."

Yu knew, but he just couldn't. He didn't want to get rejected because Mei had been in the popular gal group since third grade. When he thought about her, that's the only thing he could.
