May as Well Just Do It

"You just, take that side, and I'll be over here... it's no big deal really."

Because we can't avoid it... or we've both gotten so close... or seen each others... private bits already...?

Slipping off to the far side, Subaru took his bag that included his freshly washed school uniform, but as he started unpacking it to the bed beside him, he suddenly realised the closed window ahead showed a good refection back, and he could clearly see Kei.

"Uh -"

"Don't move anywhere now..."

Kei was already quickly done with her shirt and was already removing her pants, so Subaru did his best to ignore his surroundings and get into his own clothes.

It was real awkward, too much so that Subaru tried to distract himself by adding some conversation.

"Kei, uh, do you mind if I ask about what you would have said... if Minami had gotten the chance... to tell everyone that...?"

He didn't know how close Kei's dad was, so kept some details left unsaid.

"Oh, I just would have said it wasn't true... and told father that I'd personally seen you... you know - and that would have been it."

"Oh..."

It went quiet again, just as Subaru pulled his leggings on, but as he started on his school skirt next Kei attracted his attention to the reflection.

"Subaru..."

He took in that she had stopped still, merely standing the other way - in not so much.

"Uh yeah..."

He hesitated, stopping briefly too.

"If we, told father the truth... do you think he'd take it well?"

"About... the blame or... me?"

"Yeah..."

Kei wasn't particularly helpful in clarifying what they were talking about.

"I think he'd understand, since it's you. But if it was you... would you be concerned?"

She's not making sense now - ouch!

"Uh!"

Subaru tweaked his shoulder while trying to get his shirt sleeve on, and the out of place noise attracted Kei's sight.

"Did that hurt...? Here let me help..."

She was apparently caught up in her thoughts as she promptly trotted around the beds end and came up before him, wearing only her light-blue underwear and her added white chest wrappings.

"Uh no, you... I don't..."

She already started, tugging it on for him, and then started doing up the buttons too.

"If it's hurting you, let me..."

She started from the bottom and slowed as she went higher, while leaving Subaru with nothing to do, but take in her mostly hidden figure and subtle curves right before him.

"We've been through a bit... together..."

She finished Subaru's last button, but remained there while avoiding his eyes.

"And while you don't look it - you're a real decent guy..."

Subaru stayed still and silent, not at all knowing which way to go after a compliment like that.

"You... what do you think of me, honestly?"

She finally looked level at him and put him further on the spot.

"Err... I, um, I think you're... a real nice person, kind and caring, but also strong... and dependable..."

"And?"

You want more...? I don't know...

"Uh... sometimes you're a bit um, confrontational..."

She stared on, before adding.

"And how I look is important too."

"Well, uh, yeah... you're... rather... cute."

She sprung on his last word, as she drew closer.

"You truly think so?"

"Uh-ha..."

She gently touched his chest, while closely studying his eyes, only centimetres from his face.

"Subaru... do you think we-"

"Hey kids, are you decent, the car's already running..."

Kei's father spoke from behind the closed door, making Kei flinch, before quickly stepping back and going red all over, before she darted for her remaining outfit.

"Not yet... just give us another second..."

She shouted, and while Subaru slowly did up his blue neck-ribbon, Kei shuffled about franticly behind him.

Actually she can be really cute...

She never got the chance to finish her sentence, as after they were dressed, Kei's father saw them to the car, amid the other escorts, and then Subaru was deposited to his house. After some minor chores and a bit of homework, the quiet day came to a close.

The next day, on the way to school, Subaru came across Onomiya, who was unusually up early and already waiting at the station - as she wanted a better explanation, after a few messages between them the previous afternoon. While some details remained left out, he told the concerned gamer and otaku girl of the 'reason' behind his unusual absence the previous day.

"You need to be more careful Subaru, you can't be so reckless since you're still recovering..."

Onomiya said as they exited the train at the larger station.

"Are you sure you'll be okay?"

"Yeah, it's fine."

It didn't hurt much, especially with the pain-killers he was taking for it.

"Hey..."

Kei caught up with them as they left the station, and casually walked alongside fairly quietly, leaving Subaru with a little space to continue on with Takashi.

Subaru was aware of another follower too, as the tiny girl with the brown side-tail slowly and silently trailed them, a half a dozen steps behind, with her bag dangling before her skirt and tall socks.

"Hi there."

"Morning."

Another couple of familiar faces appeared from a small side street, as Junko and Maya ducked onto the bigger road, hand in hand.

Receiving a couple of friendly greetings, they continued walking at a usual pace for the average person, and they soon disappeared, making it to the school well before Subaru and today's many escorts.

"Hey Subaru..."

Minami surprised them by the classroom door, softly clumping onto Subaru's side and staying there with a gentle lingering hug.

"Are you doing well... not to sore I hope."

Minami whispered in his ear, as he felt her boobs press around his near arm, while her hands clutched his waist.

"I'm good..."

Minami wrapped up warmly against him some more.

"Glad to hear."

"Get off of... her Tetsuko!"

Kei was clearly peeved.

Minami turned her head toward Kei and poked her tongue at her.

"Just sharing a close embrace with a close friend, no need to get bent out of shape..."

She began to smile smugly again as she judged Kei's reaction.

"Jealous much?"

"Huh - as if!"

Kei huffed and strode by, but deliberately clipped Minami's back with her bag as she did.

"Hey - Akashi!"

Minami peeled off and marched after her to demand an apology.

"You did that on purpose!"

"Did what?"

Kei reached 'his' desk before turning to confront her again.

They're more alike than they realise... Perhaps they would've been good friends, if Kei was just out and open as a girl...

Onomiya was next to pass by, offering a small wave as she went.

"See you later I suppose."

She said quietly, gone back to being timid out in public, as she slipped by the others to go for her seat near the back.

"Morning Subaru.... I heard you had a fall or something? Should you be back at school already?"

Shiori appeared and fretted over Subaru's attendance.

"I'm fine, honestly - just a tiny ache..."

"If you need anything, I mean anything, do not hesitate at all - I'll get it for you, okay?"

Subaru had learnt that the plain black-haired teen was in fact the most protective 'fan' of the 'Princess', not just 2-A's representative, and for whatever reason she made his life less troublesome, when it came to the goings on at school at least.

"I'm sure I'll manage... I'll be okay."

She gently held Subaru's hand with a quite worried look.

"Alright, but take it easy okay."

If I take it any easier; I'd be lying back in bed and home schooled...

Tachinana parted ways, but before Subaru moved again, Inori skittered up next and promptly bowed before him.

"Morning Princess. Whatever assistance you need - I can likewise assist."

Araki spoke in her odd way - actually the quite short teen was peculiar in a few ways.

"Good morning to you too. And thanks, I appreciate it."

Inori brought her un-emotive face up, hesitated, but aware of others nearby, she merely wandered away silently to her seat.

I wonder if she wanted something...?

Subaru settled in his own seat and watched on, while more classmates arrived.

"Hey Su...ba...ru, you okay today?"

Akane plopped onto her chair, facing Subaru as she practically gushed out of her partly undone shirt, as her chest squished over the backing, while the slimmer of the duo stopped alongside with a cheerful expression.

"Hi Akane, Ritsu, yeah I'm doing alright."

"Glad to here that. Here... I made you some notes from yesterday."

Toyamo retrieved a folded paper and put it on Subaru's desk, while Okamoto smiled on.

"Why don't you ever write notes for me Ritsu?"

"Because you are here in class with me... mostly."

Subaru gave a small giggle, while also distracted by the heaving flesh that partly ballooned out as she bounced with pretend annoyance, until Ritsu finally noticed her unkempt attire and set about fixing it for her.

Subaru again quietly watched all the happenings around him, and dwelled about it all.

To think; I was contemplating no going to school... but now... with all these lively people here, I'm glad I came... even if I had to dress this way... I probably wouldn't change anything...

The bell chimed and everyone got organised for another, not so ordinary, day.
