Chapter 15:

The Lady Blessed by The Moon

A Celestial's Elegy: In a World of Blessings, I am the Anomaly

It was already well past midnight, the moon shone brightly. From the alleyway where Prince Sylas was last seen, Kei emerged, eyes still both glowing red. As he exited the alley, he had to support himself by holding onto the wall, whilst the other hand was on his face. It seemed as though he was struggling to stand. Grass had started growing on the ground beneath him.

“Ugh… this sucks… agh…”

Kei dropped onto the ground, faced down. From his shadows that extended into the alleyway, the lady with the green hair emerged once more. This time, she emerged with a somewhat concerned face, unlike the angry woman she was when she confronted the Lestia family.

“Mi… lady…”

“I always feared it would come to this…”

The lady knelt down on one knee before putting her palm on Kei’s head and closed her eyes. Her body glowed a light green, as if she had channelled something.

“Ugh…”

Kei groaned as his eyes slowly started going back to its normal colours. Once that was done, the grass beneath him slowly returned to the earth. As she stood up, Kei leaned against the wall and lost his consciousness.

“I’d always wondered if I had put a burden too heavy upon you, my child. Now, you’ve even managed to summon Typhon…”

As the lady looked up into the night sky, a mixture of emotions could be seen on her face. Sadness, a hint of anger, guilt, regret, to narrow down the exact emotion would be difficult.

“I knew that eventually, you’d have to face your past. But I didn’t think your anger would be this extreme… The conflict within you, I can't even begin to imagine what you are going through. The you from the past, who would treat anyone and everyone with kindness, and the you now, who’d kill without a second thought if they were guilty… Hmm? I think it best that you show yourself now, lest you wish for a quick but painful death.”

As the lady lamented her choices, her attention turned towards the alleyway when she felt the footsteps from afar. From it, Celena and Charlotte emerged.

“Please, dear goddess, we bear no ill will.” Celena responded.”

“Then what are you doing here, just as my boy collapsed?”

“We are merely here to investigate the foreign Prince’s motives. Our appearance as he collapsed is merely a coincidence.”

“And? Surely now that you know the truth, you have a duty as a noble to report this to your father, no?”

Evil and twisted as he may be, Sylas was still the crown prince of a foreign nation. His disappearance in another country, even if they were enemies, would spark major conflict. As a noble, and one who is related to the king, Celena had a duty to tell the king.

“Or is it his power that your kingdom desires? So many have tried, and because of that, countless calamities befell their kingdoms, turning my child into a self-loathing monster in the process.”

“No, but I have come with a message from my father and his brother, the King of Babel.”

“And that is?”

“That they will handle this incident on your behalf, but all they wish for is to speak with Kei-kun.”

As those words left Celena’s mouth, the ground beneath them shook. The lady glowed green once more, her face now visibly enraged.

“You dare suggest that my child should be paraded around by your king in front of nobility?”

The tremors started becoming more intense.

“You misunderstand! He wishes… to meet in an informal setting. In private.” Charlotte spoke up in a panic.

The tremors stopped. Everything went back to normal. As the two girls had calmed down, Charlotte spoke up.

“Lady Celena, you have to relay your father’s message in its entirety, lest you be misunderstood.”

“Right… I’m sorry.” Celena apologised.

“Lady Goddess, please grant us this request. Milady here, composed as she may currently seem, is extremely worried about the young master.”

“?!”

““WHERE IS KEI-KUN?! WHAT IF SOMETHING HAPPENED TO HIM?!”, was what she was screaming to me before we had left the mansion.”

“Charlotte! You’re not supposed to say that!”

“But milady, am I not speaking the truth?”

“No but… you’re not supposed to say those things to others!”

As the noble lady and her maid squabbled in front of her. The Lady Goddess seemed quite confused as to what was happening in front of her. Before long, she let out a slight chuckle.

“Hmhm!… Perhaps you two are exactly what the boy needs.”

“... What do you mean?” Celena asked in confusion.

“Where there's creation, a moon needs to accompany it. Am I wrong? Lady blessed by the moon?”

Smiling as she said that, the Lady Goddess walked towards Kei and returned into Kei’s shadow.

I shall leave him in your care for now.”

Standing there, Charlotte donned a concerned look as Celene stood there frozen in stunned silence.
