Arkm spoke to the man who had a large amount of food.

“Can you give us some food, by any chance?” Arkm asked. “We haven’t eaten anything for many days.”

The man looked at them and said, “My name is Abricot.”

Arkm bowed his head slightly. “My good sir, Abricot, if you could give some food to me and my friend here as well, we would be grateful.”

Abricot nodded. “Let’s take the food right over there. Then I can give you some.”

They kept walking for a while. After some time, Abricot stopped and said, “Take this.” He handed them two longan fruits.

Arkm smiled, thinking that Abricot was going to give them more food. Both Arkm and Tan looked at the fruit, then looked at each other.

Arkm whispered to Tan, “Do you know how to eat this?”

Tan shook his head. “I don’t know. Is this even edible?”

They looked at each other again, moved their heads up and down in confusion, and then looked back at Abricot.

“Sir,” Tan said, “can you tell us how to eat this thing?”

Abricot pointed at a spot on the fruit. “Break the longan open here, then you can eat it.”

Tan followed the instructions and ate the fruit. Arkm, however, swallowed it whole. The fruit got stuck in his throat.

Abricot shouted quickly, “Grab him! Make him throw it out!”

Tan grabbed Arkm by the waist and pressed against him, forcing the air out of Arkm’s lungs. The fruit finally came out of Arkm’s mouth.

Arkm gasped for air. “I was hungry… I couldn’t think straight.”

Tan looked at Abricot and said, “Can you maybe give us more?”

Abricot didn’t say anything at first. Then he muttered, “Umm… leave me alone.”

Tan and Arkm nodded. “Okay. Thank you,” they said.

Abricot quickly closed the door on them.

Tan and Arkm began walking away together. As they walked, Arkm clenched his teeth and stared at the ground.

“I swear,” Arkm said, “whatever it takes, we will avenge each other.”

“Of course we will,” Tan replied.

As they returned to the place where they had left their belongings, Tan looked at Arkm. “You know,” Tan said, “you remind me of my brother.”

Arkm looked at him. “What brother?”

Both of their eyes widened.

Suddenly, Tan and Arkm were knocked unconscious.

They both began to dream. In the dream, they were standing and looking at each other, but neither of them knew it. Tan saw Arkm, but Arkm was blurry. Arkm saw Tan, but Tan was blurry as well.

There was another person standing nearby, completely covered in black fog.

Far away, in the mountains, the Misleading Arnos saw two blurry figures. When Arnos looked at himself, he realized that he was also covered in black fog.

Then all of them fell into the ground.

Arkm screamed, “What is… th‑this?!”

Tan screamed, “Uhhhhh!”

Arnos made no sound.

All three of them heard voices.

One voice shouted, “I will rip you apart!”

Another voice said, “I will never forgive you for that! I will end your peaceful life!”

A third person, covered in black fog, said, “I have been cursed.”

The one who shouted, “I will rip you apart,” continued, “I wish you were never born. I wish I had killed you when you were just an infant.”

Suddenly, another person stabbed the one who said those words.

A voice filled with rage echoed, “Where are you? You are all the ones”

Before it could finish, everything went silent.

Tan, Arkm, and Arnos all woke up from their unconscious state at the same time.
