A little payback

As soon as the round began, Safumi glared and moved her pawn to e4 as Tenju glared back and moved her pawn to e6.

"Really gotta piss me off, and when I felt like being nice," Safumi thought as she moved her pawn to d4.

"Onee-san, we should go there," Taira stated as she pointed towards the board. 

Tenju nodded and moved her pawn to d5, naturally confusing Safumi. "Why's she darting her head around. Oi, don't tell me she's cheating," Safumi grumbled in her mind as she moved her knight to c3.

"Lets go for a Rubinstein Variation," Taira nodded as Tenju captured the pawn at e4 with her d-pawn.

"Yeah, don't care about your Frankenstein attack or whatever this opening's called," Safumi thought as she captured said pawn with her knight.

"I don't get this line," Tenju thought as she glanced over at Taira's visage. 

"Just leave the theory to me," Taira smiled. 

Tenju wearily nodded and moved her knight to d7.

"THAT'S IT! Oi arbiter! Come give her a shakedown!" Safumi hollered as she slammed her knight down on f3.

"What's your problem?" Tenju growled as Miga came strolling over. 

"You're looking around before moving. It's like you're looking at something."

"I'm looking at Taira. Is that a problem?" 

"Oi, how loony-" 

"If there is issue, how about stepping into the curtained area. We'll observe directly within, and you're free to converse with each other aloud," Raymond offered as he walked up. 

"Sure, with you watching over, no shit will get through." 

Once the players relocated, the game resumed. 

"For your information, I can see Taira's ghost, and she's telling me where to move," Tenju glared  as she moved her g-knight to f6.

"That's just... Ugh, forget the check here, go get your head checked out," Safumi groaned as she captured the knight at f6 with her knight.

"Taira really is here! Can you not see how pieces and squares glow when she points to them!?" Tenju cried as she captured said knight with her knight.

Safumi didn't believe a word she said and shook her head as she moved her bishop to d3. 

"Fine, you were always mocking us anyway. Not like we need any sympathy from you," Tenju scoffed as she moved her pawn to c5.

"Tch, you ever shut up!?" Safumi fumed as she castled king's side.

"Right back at you!" Tenju shouted back as she captured the pawn at d4 with her c-pawn.

"Then shut up. Chess is meant to be quiet," Safumi snarled as she moved her queen to e1.

"Who was it that raised a fuss first!? I was fine out there, but thanks to you, we're both here," Tenju glared as she moved her bishop to d6.

"Uh, because you were acting like you were cheating?" Safumi scoffed back as she slid her pawn to c3. 

Tenju gritted her teeth in fury as she captured said pawn with her d-pawn, and watched as Safumi  captured said pawn with her queen. 

"Onee-san, calm down. Don;t let her provoke you. It's hard to focus when you're shouting," Taira frowned. 

Tenju frowned and somberly nodded as she moved her queen out to c7, but to her surprise, Safumi captured it with her queen.

"Oh? She took it? Lets get the queens off the board," Taira nodded as Tenju captured the queen at c7 with her bishop.

"Queens off the board makes it easier to focus," Safumi snarled as she moved her bishop to e3.

"Well, I guess I don't need a queen to mate an ass like you," Tenju snarled as she castled queen's side."

"The fuck you say!?" Safumi fumed as she moved her a-rook to c1.

"A-S-S, or would "donkey" be more comprehensible for your minuscule intellect?" Tenju scoffed as she moved her knight to d5.

Safumi twitched and shot Tenju a glare. "Your ass is dead after this," Safumi snarled as she moved her pawn to g3.

"You think you can beat me with Taira aiding me?" Tenju glared as she captured the bishop at e3 with her knight.

"Oi arbiters, this "Taira" allowed?" Safumi snarled as she captured said knight with her f-pawn.

A scowl formed on Tenju's face as she silently slid her bishop to b6.

"Oi, you gonna reply!?" Safumi shouted as she moved her king to f2.

"We've been observing this whole time, and no sign of cheating has been detected," Raymond stated as Tenju let out a relieved sigh, and moved her rook to d8.

"Like hell she's playing fair!" Safumi shouted as she slammed her f-rook on d1.

"Then how do you figure she's cheating?" Raymond asked as Tenju moved her rook to b8.

"Easy. She has a transmitter on her or someone sending her hand signals from the side," Safumi declared as she moved her bishop to c4.

"Prokrutka screened everyone upon entry, not to mention these curtains block electromagnetic waves," Raymond stated as Tenju captured the rook at d1 with her rook.

Safumi scowled and went quiet as she captured said rook with her rook.

"Taira told me that thanks to winning a DESPER match, her mind was fused with mine. As such, she tells me where to move, I move it," Tenju stated as she moved her king to f8.

"You're just deluded," Safumi snarled as she moved her bishop to d3.

"Am not!" Tenju glared as she moved her king to e7.

"Alright, then tell me what "Taira" says about this move!" Safumi fumed as she captured the pawn at h7 with her bishop.

Tenju took a deep breath. "The pawn lit up, and so did this space. That's how it goes, but she'll go more in depth at times,"  Tenju stated as she moved her pawn to g6.

"What do you mean?" Safumi snarled as she moved her pawn to h4.

"What I just said, or is your intelligence THAT lacking that you couldn't comprehend such a simple explanation?" Tenju growled as she moved her king to f6.

"LIKE HELL I'D BELIEVE SOME GHOST IS SHOWING YOU WHERE TO MOVE!" Safumi shouted as she slammed her pawn down on h5.

"Fine. I'll prove I have Taira's strength by beating you!" Tenju huffed as she moved her king to g7.

"Yeah, you've lost it. Seeing ghosts is one thing, but if you think you're beating me, check your ass into the WWCF medical ward," Safumi glared as she captured the pawn at g6 with her h-pawn.

"And if I win, you head there and get your IQ checked!" Tenju huffed as she captured said pawn with her f-pawn.

Safumi gritted her teeth as she moved her rook to h1. "Then I'm kicking your ass EXTRA hard!"

Tenju shook her head and quietly moved her pawn to e5. Safumi also went quiet moved her pawn to b4. She was fairly confident that she'd win this from the start, considering who she was up against, but as Tenju moved her bishop to f5, she began to get a bit nervous. 

"No, it's fucking Tenju. I've always beaten her," Safumi thought as she moved her rook to f8. 

Tenju began to sense the unease as she moved her bishop to d8. "Oh? You're sweating now? That's a sight!" 

Safumi gritted her teeth and wiped the sweat off her face as as she moved her knight to f3, allowing Tenju to gleefully capture the rook at h4 with her bishop. Safumi captured said bishop with her knight, but at this point, it was all in vain.

"Check. Now do you acknowledge Taira's strength?" Tenju huffed as she moved her bishop to e4.

"I haven't lost!" Safumi shouted as she moved her king to g1.

"Taira says the game's good as ours," Tenju scoffed as she captured the bishop at h7 with her king.

"As if your delusion's made you on par with my level!" Safumi glared as she frantically moved her pawn to b5.

"Taira's strength is not delusion," Tenju glared as she moved her king to h6.

Safumi slammed her pawn down on a4 and trembled. "Your ass is under 1500. No way you're beating me." 

"It's true, I've never been good on my own, but Taira's by my side. We're going to win," Tenju declared as she moved her king to h5.

At this point, all Safumi could do was desperately struggle in hopes of a blunder. But after she moved her pawn to a5, Tenju did not blunder and moved her king to g4. Safumi continued to press onward and moved her pawn to b6, but it was too late; Tenju had captured the pawn at g3, setting up a nasty mating net. Safumi desperately captured the pawn at g6 with her knight, but with a disgusted glare, Tenju slid her rook away to d8.

"Fuck you. FUCK YOU!" Safumi cried as she moved her king to f1.

"I should spit those words back at you, but winning here feels more satisfying, even more so if it prevents you from making the team," Tenju sneered as she moved her rook to d1.

"You vain bitch!" Safumi tearfully glared as she moved her king to e2.

"This is for all the insults you hurled at me and Taira. Checkmate. Oh, and do tell me the results of your IQ test. I'm curious to hear how stupid you really are," Tenju scoffed as she moved her bishop to f3, winning the game.
