Today is Arthur's second day of class, after yesterday I hope that no more problems come his way, he is a good boy and doesn't deserve to go through these types of situations.

After a while working I finally return home, I have some time before he arrives and I decide to start making some snacks for him to eat when he arrives. I prepare the ingredients and in the middle of the process I hear the bell. My son must have already arrived, I went towards the door to open it, but I was surprised when I opened it. Arthur had brought his friend to my house.

-Dad, this is Leon. (Arthur)

-Pleased sir. (Leon)

-It's my pleasure. Look son I don't mind you bringing a friend here, but did you tell his father he was here? You know for him not to be worried. (Logan)

-Yes, yes, we warned, he left. (Arthur)

-Then you can come in. (Logan)

-Let's go to my room I want to show you something Leon. (Arthur)

Arthur runs in holding Leon and going upstairs to get to his room. Seeing this scene made me very happy that my son was having so much fun, I went to the kitchen again to finish the snacks and make more for his friend too.

After a few hours talking in his room and after eating their snacks, he was washing the dishes when Arthur runs down the stairs with a doll in his hands.

-To save my village I will go after the dragon and defeat him. (Arthur)

Soon after he ran through the corridors screaming and Leon, despite being a little twitched, left behind him imitating him. They were having so much fun, the house, that you could hear a few whispers or the splash of water on the plates, was now infested with noise and excitement. Seeing that scene I just managed to smile as I washed the rest of the dishes, until the noise of the phone caught my attention. It was on the second floor, the noise was low compared to all the noise they were making. I walked towards him, going up the stairs I noticed that he was getting louder, the closer I got to him the more the sound permeated and overlapped the sound that my son and his friend were making. I answer the phone, it looks like it was Leon's father...

After a while, we were in the car in the middle of a rain, I was taking Leon to a place and I told my son that he didn't need to come with us, but he insisted. Leon was completely devastated, he couldn't hold back the tears that streamed down his downcast face, my son just looked at him with a worried look, not knowing what to say, not knowing what to say to comfort him, he didn't know what he could to make your friend better. However, staying by his side without saying a word was the best he could do, sometimes all we need is someone to be by our side in these moments, not words and lessons, just the presence of someone who calms us down. The road was very wet from the rain that didn't stop, the view of the road was blurry from how much it was raining, I think it was just my impression, but the weather seemed a little sadder than it should have been, it reminds me of that one day, the day that was supposed to be one of the best days of my life, which turned out to be one that I wish had never happened.

It took a while, but we finally made it to the hospital. Leon's father was waiting for him in the waiting room, when I first met him, my first words weren't wishing him a good day, or introducing me, or even asking how the mood was, my first words to him sounded with regret and pain, with a certain air of sadness, looking at him the only thing I could say was:

-My condolences... (Logan)

Nothing more than that, just those two simple words. He, hearing what I said, looks at the floor and holds his son and accompanies him to a room, without answering a single word, showing how much he was suffering and distressing at that time. Sitting next to my son in the living room, he looked flustered by what was going on. It was really cruel, this scene they were going through, losing such a little mother to an illness, losing the person they had always loved because of cancer. I can't imagine what was going through my son's mind accurately, but I believe he was linking this whole situation to Rochely's death. He didn't even get to know his own mother, he was always too young to understand the gravity of the situation, but the more time passed, the more he was tormented by this issue and the more he suffered for it. It didn't take long for his tears to start coming out of his eyes, they were thin and few, like they could disappear at any moment, but I knew those were the worst tears you could have on anyone's face, he was so confused by every situation that could not release all his suffering completely, the doubt prevented him, the doubt he was having hurt him more and more. The silence in the room was killing me, the only noises you could hear were my son crying, his sniffling nose from crying and his sobbing, I knew that this silence was a sign that some disaster was coming, I couldn't do anything, was just waiting for him.

-Dad... why do people have to die? (Arthur)

This question gnawed at me inside, it wasn't an unprecedented question, at some point in a person's existence they already wondered what the meaning of death was, but unfortunately they didn't always find the answer. I don't have enough studies on this subject to be able to answer it, no... even if I had studied for a long time about life and death, I still wouldn't have the answer, and even if I had it, it wouldn't be something for me reveal to a boy as young as my son, there was nothing I could answer for him at that moment, the only thing I could do was stand by his side.

-I don't know son, I wonder too. (Logan)

If I had you by my side Rochely, if you were here, maybe our little son wouldn't have to go through this whole situation, I'm sure you would find the right words to comfort him. I wonder to this day why this happened to you, I really wish you were here now, so you could help me raise our little Arthur.
