[10.1] Blooming 'kinda' Late: The Happy Ending

~~~What do you wish to accomplish when you're an adult?~~~

Seventeen-year-old Yu, "I want to make my family happy! Especially my soon-to-be wife, Mei."

*Panned to Mei, who sat next to Yu*

~~~How about you, Mei? What accomplishment do you want to achieve as an adult?~~~

Seventeen-year-old Mei, "I wish to be a supportive wife who always cares and loves my soon-to-be husband, Yu."

"Where is the groom? He's not in his room", said someone panicking.

"The bride, too, where is she?"

The hallway was in total chaos. They didn't know where either one went. They asked the wedding event staff. Nothing. They asked the groom and bride's relatives. Nothing. They even asked an outsider. Nothing. Where could they possibly have gone?

"Hey, stop the ruckus. I'm sleeping here", Yu opened up the door to the toilet. He was inside the entire time.

"YUUUU", shouted his mom, "What are you doing in there? You ruined the attire!"
"Ahh, come on, Mom. Give me some slcak here. I was sleeping late because you told me to remember my speech. You know I couldn't remember it right away. I need time."

"What? How long did you spend remembering the speech?"
"I don't know. Thirty minutes."
"That whole god damn half hour."
"It is! And not only that, I'm nervous here, could you calm me down? At least."

Meanwhile, on the other side.

"Maybe that's it! Let's check it", someone had an idea to try the toilet to check on Mei.

*Knock* *Knock* *Knock*

"Mei? Are you in there?" asked the braid best woman.

"..."
"Hey! I heard a noise in there!"
"Sorry. I'm just nervous. I need the bathroom first."

Everyone understood and let her alone.

"Yu!! Yuuu. Where are you?" asked Mei through the water closet, but no response.

"Oh, dear. I'm still on edge. This is kind of scary, too, in a way. Feels like going to a war zone."

Then a voice could be heard, "Because it is a war zone", from outside the bathroom.

"Huh? Astrid?"
"What the hell are you doing in there? Open the door!"
"I... I'm pooping!"
"For fifteen minutes? Yeah, eat my shit! Tell me the truth, or I'll break down the door."

Mei quickly stood up, cleaned her dress, and opened the door.

Astrid looked at Mei from top to bottom and said, "You look disgusting."

Mei got stoned, Astrid continued her comment, "You just dirty your dress. It looks worse. We need to call on the best woman. You need to get ready in 2 hours, you know?"

"Is everyone ready, Astrid?" asked someone when Astrid came back to the audience seat.

"Yeah. I did my best to get shit done. Don't worry, honey", Astrid answered. She sat beside him.

"Hey. Stop saying bad words. Didn't I say I don't like that?"
"Ah, sorry. Sorry. I just had a bad mood after hearing what Mei's excuse was when she disappeared."
"You're also giving a bad excuse."
Astrid hugged his arm, "Ahh, come on, darling. We're at my best friend's wedding ceremony. We shouldn't be in a bad mood."
"Sigh... I couldn't win when you're like this. Fine."

The ceremony was a huge success. The party was running smoothly. Everything went according to plan.

"Yu... Mei... kiss the bribe."

Everyone laughed. Everyone loved the show. They were finally together, for real.

"I'm at the peak of my life, right now", Mei said.
"Me too", Yu replied

They were blooming. Blooming bright. The light centered around them.

Everyone was cheering and clapping—the flower, the light, and the wind came together to make a perfect spotlight for the two of them.

They finally have their happy ending.

This might be the end of my story, but not all of us get the happy ending that I get. I hope you can stay tuned for my friend's adventure. I feel bad that even though they have their moment, they have to get cut short due to time.
