Chapter 2:

Chapter 2: A Family Gets Destroyed!

The Prisoner From Perfidia

Lark backed away a couple of steps toward the woods, but the bag was still on the body of the young man. The demon and angel slowly approached closer to him as he whiped the chain up, holding it between his hands to prepare for a close battle. The angel brought forward a blue glowing sword as Lark tightened his grip, and both of them stopped quite close to Lark, trying to intimidate him and make him hesitate, wondering who would attack first of both of them. He quickly released the chain from his left hand and swung it low around the angel's legs, and pulled to the right as the angel fell to the ground. He grabbed the chain back with his left hand, and the demon attacked straight with the knife, making it easy for Lark to block the impact with the chain. He gave the demon a hard knee to the face, knocking it into the air and sending it crashing to the ground. Releasing the chain from the angel as it pulled itself back to Lark, he grabbed it with both hands and leapt forward, going for the backpack as he slid on the ground, turned the young man over, and started removing the backpack. A quick step behind him forced Lark to lift both arms as the sword hit the chain, but because he was low, the sword slightly hit his right shoulder as he managed to push it up again. He rolled over the body and got up quickly from the ground as the angel kept attacking, and he parried with the chain. Still, it was obvious he was bleeding from his right shoulder, and when he was going to kick the angel on the knee to get it out of balance, a swift knife from right under struck his stomach, and the angel kicked him as he flew a couple of meters. He tried to get up in haste, but the knife injury on the stomach prevented such a move. The angel and demon walked up to him as he tried to breathe properly.

"Any last wishes, Van Polan?" The angel asked him, while the demon, with its ugly face, laughed.

Lark realized this was the last moment of his life; he would never see his family again. Suddenly, a wooden log hit the angel's back, and white blood splattered in all directions as the demon looked in shock. Behind the angel was the young man, all covered in blood, with one eye red as he watched the demon fall to its knees, scared of him.

"Oh...Oh...My lord, I am sorry, please do not kill me." The demon begged and bowed several times, and it lowered its head to the ground, afraid to look the young man in the eyes.

"Get lost!" The young man said, his voice much murkier, as the demon got up and started to run in the opposite direction.

He looked at Lark and turned to grab the backpack, and when the young man turned again, the red eye was gone. The grim aura that everyone close by could feel a moment ago was completely gone. He smiled at Lark and noticed the angel's body on the road, and got stressed about all the white blood gushing out from the head. He moved slowly past the body and reached out his hand to Lark with a blood-covered face. Lark knew this was not the same person a moment ago. It is the young man again, but who was the one who woke up with the immense aura that even made him nervous?

"I never told you my name, did I? It is Steffen, Steffen Tartaursen!" He told Lark.

Lark grabbed his hand, panting and breathing uncontrollably, and he needed to get his breathing at least a little bit under control. Coughing up blood, he leaned on Steffen's shoulder as they kept walking towards the door leading to Earth.

They came up to the door, and Lark put his hand on it so it would open a small portal close to where he lived. Steffen walked through, and in the exact moment Lark was on its way in, two demons jumped on him as they fell through the door, ending up rolling on the grass as Steffen stared at the grass as two demons had followed through with Lark. The Demons got up quickly and went after Steffen, who was running around the circular field when Lark slowly got up from the ground as the chain got released again from his right hand, this time burning combined red and black and much longer than before. He swung up his arm as the chain went straight up into the air, and he made a hasty movement forward as the chain speared towards the closest demon like a whip and hit it in the face as it fell on the grass, squealing in pain. The other one stopped as Steffen rushed behind Lark, hesitated for a moment, and waited to see if the other one was going to stand up. Lark pulled out a small pouch from his inner pocket, looked it over for a moment, and knew he needed to do it.

"Zit Ten HA!" He uttered the exact words of a Witch spell and hit the pouch on the grass with a fist move, and a purple ball flew up from the ground into the air above the trees and exploded, making an explosion like fireworks.

Meanwhile, At The Van Polan Family Cabin...

Trissa was hanging up clothes right by the side of the cabin. Still depressed after losing her son a couple of months ago, she feels guilty for the baby's death. She tried to smile a little when Sabina showed up from the woods, looking dirty after training for a couple of hours.

"Was it that bad, Sabina?"

The girl kicked the ground, pissed off, as it looked from all the dirt on her face that she had not won a single battle today.

"That student you have trained is bad. She did not let me win a single battle today and made me crawl around on the ground."

Trissa smiled at her daughter.

"Remember that more training will make you gain more experience, and with experience, you will be able to defend yourself," Trissa said, smiling when her daughter passed her, throwing her pink hair backward as a way of disagreement and disappearing around a corner.

Trissa went back to hanging up the clothes when an explosion sounded from a distance. She hurried around the corner as purple light, not far away, came into view. That was the emergency call from her husband, and she needed to hurry as the emergency signal meant enemies were close by. Trying to gather herself as fast as possible, but Zark was missing. She remembered he went to the store, which was three kilometers away. Hopefully, he has seen or heard the signal and won't come back to the cabin. Trissa hurried inside the cabin when Sabina was staring at her, as she must have also heard the explosion.

"COME WITH ME NOW!" Trissa yelled as Sabina leapt quickly out from the porch, and both moved quickly to the round rock close by.

She sat down Sabina on the circle rock and she started chanting:

"FRA KU TAH MI FEEN!" When the rock flashed up a pink wall, Sabina kept hitting the wall.

The girl was crying after her mother when the rock slowly began to glow, preparing to take off.

Three portals opened in front of the porch as Witch soldiers rushed out, seeing Trissa standing there in front of the rock.

"Trissa Van Polan, you are wanted for cowardly escaping from your duties as a General of the Witches' Kingdom. Your punishment is death. Before you meet your demise, you will have the opportunity to watch your children and husband getting their skin peeled off...alive. If the capture of the family is not possible, instant death of your life and your head on a stick is a secondary punishment, where it will lie on the ground for all citizens to see." The obvious blue-haired leader of the witches' announcement from a paper.

All of them released a thin burning thread in green color, except the leader, who had a blue thread of fire released.

Trissa straightened both her arms as the pink thread formed from her hands and solidified, looking like two burning pink batons. Trissa smiled genuinely, which she had not done in months, not liking the corrupt Witch Kingdom that had developed a society based on fear.

Sabine started floating in the air, hitting the wall, as her mother stood in a fighting stance. Then she disappeared, and the wall came down.

Trissa felt a little relief when Sabina disappeared to safety.

"If you want me...COME AND GET ME!" She screamed out loud.

Sabina Van Polan...

A man and a woman were on their rice, picking up the crop with their baskets. Several explosions suddenly appeared in the air, and they saw mountains forming, a big wall rising from the ground, isolating everything and blocking any view behind it. At the same time, the trees shook around the field. They bent down, shocked and afraid, wondering if Valiant was on the verge of collapsing. Something moved from a distance at high speed towards them, and a big chunk of something covered in blood bounced past them on the water, hitting at full speed into a low hill covering the area in smoke. They were a bit hesitant to approach it, but decided to move closer to see what it was, as there was red blood in the water, which surprised them.

The woman moved quickly towards the smoke as she could smell that it was a child. She moved faster, and the smoke slowly disappeared as she went down on her knee and pulled off the headscarf she had, and big, pointy hair showed itself as she started to clean the blood off the girl's face. The man approached quickly from behind and was going to attack the already injured girl when the woman interfered and pushed the man to the side, looking at the man with two big fangs showing themselves from the teeth and her flat nose that made it obvious her animal instincts kicked in.

"If you touch this child, I will show no mercy to the man of my life!" She growled towards him.

The man was in rage as he wanted to kill the child.

"Have you forgotten the smell of a Witch? The killers of our daughter."

She kept growling at him and responded:

"This child does not smell murderer; she has done nothing wrong so far."

The man realized that his woman might be right and lowered his hand, and the woman relaxed a bit but remained on alert about her surroundings.

"Melahi! What are you going to do with the child?" The man asked.

"Do not worry, Frittin! I am curious if she was the one changing everything around us."

The girl started to breathe with tears coming down her cheeks, both arms and legs broken, and Melahi was holding the scarf over her head to try to stop the bleeding.

"Frittin, go get the doctor Hirrun!"

Melahi's man changed completely into a four-legged hairy creature looking like a dog, or even a wolf, as it ran to get the doctor. The girl's eyes were staring at the woman in front of her, and she was coughing up blood and having problems breathing.

"Child!" Melahi uttered to her, "Where did you come from?" The girl nodded slightly in a denying manner.

"My name is Melahi. What is your name?" She asked.

The girl coughed as Melahi waited to see if the child would respond.

"I...I...Don't know!" The girl managed to utter before she passed out.

The howling from Melahi echoed through the woods as she was signaling to her man to hurry.
