Chapter 22:
My Sister Found a Spaceship
“No no no no no! I am not flying a spaceship! You can’t make me!” Clare said.
“Well, me and Ivy are going to go to the upright static pod room again to free some more people, so unless YOU want to go with Ivy you ca----” I started to say.
“No, I’ll fly the ship,” she interrupted quickly, studying the shiny buttons, figuring out which one to press.
“Awesome. Now, let’s go Ivy,” I said, turning to Ivy. Then I said to Clare, “See you when you land.”
Me and Ivy walked back to the room, the floor still covered with glass and green stains.
“Why didn’t you free numbers 17 and 99?” I said, looking around the room.
Ivy stopped in her tracks, looking at the floor. Her facial expression turned serious.
“A couple weeks after I went on the ship, I heard the aliens saying there was a way to look at the land, so I sneaked into the room and I saw your dad looking for me in my backyard through a screen. Then I saw him look up at my ship because we were flying over. Anyway, he saw me in the ship, and I watched every day in between 12pm and 2pm, and one day, I heard him talking to your mom and he said that wanted to join the army and that they should move in 5 years. That’s why you don’t remember your dad that much. And I saw your dad send the letter about Clare going with her to the army. But the alien king, my ‘dad’ saw me looking and went to the war camp, abducted your dad and took his brain out. I saw everything, they put the brain in the robot, copied his face and everything so that’s why your dad was a robot when he left.”
“Wow.” I said.
