Chapter 1:
I Died As a JPop Idol and Now I'm a Revolutionary Songstress
This story is dedicated to all the creatives who never made it as big as their dreams.
The ones who never won contests. Who never got optioned. Those who got to the table then were turned away.
The ones who kept creating.
Every failed submission and moment of doubt.
Every thought of giving up, even though you knew you had so many songs to sing and stories left to tell.
Maybe this isn’t our go, but our turn will come, in one world or another.
“I watched all my dreams burn out.
Then I hit rock bottom, and the bottom dropped out.
Broken down but never broken.
So many words still to be spoken!
Digging myself out of the cave-in.
My heart gave out, but I never gave in.
Sunset turned to sunrise!
I saw the light with my own eyes
The hopes faded out, but they never faded away.
I felt hints of peace as I found my way
I had to believe that I’d see those better days
In the end, nothing remained except for me
And I’m still here."
