Chapter 14 - Keys and Levers

The game was on.All the teams started moving except for one... Yoshio and the drunken man.

Yoshio: "Uhmmm...Shouldn't we make a move already?''

He did not respond.The drunken man sat down on the floor and laid their while the other teams went in. After 3 minutes,he grabbed a torch and pulled Yoshio deep within the maze.Yoshio was confused but followed him regardless.He was moving quickly through the maze as if he had done it over 100 times.He brought Yoshio to one corner and took out a bottle of alcohol he had been hiding from the guards.He splashed Yoshio and himself with the booze.From head to toe,both of them reeked of alcohol.Yoshio was beyond confused at this point.

The drunk man: ''Nihonshu''

Yoshio: ''Pardon?''

Nihonshu: ''My name is Nihonshu.Tell me something...You and your crew stopped at a town called Sutter's Mill?''

Yoshio: ''Yeah now that you mention it"

Nihonshu: ''Look there is not much time to explain but I need your help...Please Yoshio.I just need you to help me with one goal please''

Yoshio hesitated at first but looking into his eyes,he felt a strange urge to help Nihonshu.

Yoshio: ''W-Why me? You have no reason to trust me?''

Nihonshu: ''You don't need a reason for everything in life.Sometimes living is your reason for everything''

Yoshio: ''Okay..I'll help you Nihonshu but first we need to get out of here alive''

Nihonshu: ''Don't worry.I've been here longer than anyone.I know how to escape,follow me''

The both of them started moving through the maze.Yoshio was abit surprised about this but decided to atleast make it out alive before he could ask his questions.They both ran into the direction of a key but little did they know,standing right behind them was a hunter...

Meanwhile Tomoki and Rinku have already found a key,unfortunately it was in the hands of another team.Tomoki thought they would atleast  give them the key once they unlocked the chains but here is the thing about the keys.They are specially made for a once use only so once the chains open up,the key breaks.Tomoki and Rinku did not know that.Just when the team was about to open the chains,they heard a growl.The hunter was close....They looked all around trying to find the hunter but everything was pitch black.Suddenly when everything was calm for a second.A wolf ran and pounced at the man with the key.Biting and scratching his face.The other guy tried to grab the key but his head got blown off by the hunter.

Seeing the cruelty and sickening ways of this game,Tomoki wanted to go and kill the hunter but Rinku stopped him.

Rinku: ''Tomoki don't be stupid.We both don't have our weapons and who knows what the punishment is if you attack a hunter''

Tomoki: ''I can't just stand back and let a man die Rinku!!''

Rinku: '''Tomoki listen to me.If you die now then his death would be of no use,the only way we can avenge him is if we live right now''

The hunter (being distracted by the man being clawed and eaten to death) was unaware of Tomoki and Rinku slowly making their way to the key of the floor.Tomoki grabbed the key and opened the chains.As soon as the chains opened,the key broke and it made a loud sound...The wolf stopped eating the man and the hunter turned around but luckily Tomoki used the torch and pressed it against the hunter's face,burning his face.He picked up Rinku (who found the lever on the floor by mistake) and headed for the gate.

Tomoki: ''How did you find the lever?''

Rinku: ''When you unlocked the chains,I slowly moved back and tripped on it.I picked it up thinking it was a weapon''

Tomoki: ''You beautiful blind bastard!! Thank the heavens''

Back at Yoshio and Nihonshu 

Yoshio: ''So Nihonshu...Why are you in Runner's Up?"

Nihonshu: ''.....''

Yoshio: ''How many games are there??Do you know who is in charge here?How long have you been in Runner's Up?? Can I see your toes???"

Nihonshu: ''YOSHIO SHUT THE FUCK UP ALREADY!!''

Yoshio can't really stay quiet for a short amount of time...or any time...After searching for 20 minutes,they found a lever but there was something wrong.It's been 20 minutes and they never ran into a hunter once plus everything was quiet.Too quiet...As they continued walking foward Yoshio tripped on something big.Looking up from falling he saw that it was a dead body...

SUDDENLY THEY BOTH HEARD A GROWL and realized there was a hunter infront of them.They looked closer and saw that he had a key strapped to his pants.They turned around to run but their path was blocked off by the second hunter.They were trapped..Constantly looking back and forth,thinking of a way to get out until Nihonshu moved towards Yoshio and whispered something into his ear.

Yoshio: ''Are you sure??''

Nihonshu: ''Trust me''

Just when the hunters was about to shoot,both of them quickly took off their boots and threw it at both hunters,hitting them in the face.Yoshio and Nihonshu then proceeded to charge at the hunter with the key and take him out.The wolves did not attack them because of the alcohol smell.Yoshio grabbed the rifle while Nihonshu grabbed the key.He then aimed at the other hunter and shot him in the arm,Nihonshu opened up the chains and with 10 minutes left,they both ran in the direction of the gate.The wolves started to chase after them,gaining more and more speed but Yoshio shot both of them in the leg.Nihonshu quickly attached the lever to the gate and the both of them survived.

Yoshio,Tomoki,Rinku and Nihonshu survived hide and seek....

''Did I forget to mention that the game was called hide and seek??''
