Chapter 17:
En Passant Grandmaster Volume 6
A few hours later, Okisato scowled as he checked his phone. It turned out the team that the men had been paired up against was Iceland. Iceland's men's team was headed by a no-good schemer named Ragnar Fúinn who had been caught cheating numerous times. Worse, his teammates were just like him and willing to resort to dirty tactics to score a win, and were skilled at chess to some degree.
The same was also true of Iceland's women's team which was comprised solely of self-proclaimed villainesses. Mimoko and co wouldn't be facing them though, however, they were instead paired against the far more imposing team Italy.
"And here I was hoping round 2 would be pleasant. Seems like I'll have to keep an extra eye on the board to make sure those bastards don't try and slide a piece to the wrong square," Okisato sighed aloud.
"Oh? Is that slander?" a voice rang out.
Okisato turned, but didn't see anyone. Though upon rounding a corner, he saw a girl with a clean-shaven head and brows sitting cross-legged and meditating on a makeshift bench. Clad in a blue long-sleeve shirt, black capri jeans, and white sneakers, she appeared to invoke imagery of the Estonian flag, cuing Okisato into the fact that she might possibly be from the Estonian women's team. However, the fact that she was bald and browless caused Okisato to stare a bit more than he should have at her.
"Rude to just stare at me. Is there something standing out to you about my appearance?" the girl scoffed as she took notice of Okisato.
"Unhappy about your looks?" Okisato grumbled as he snapped himself out of his daze.
"Why yes. It sickens me that you'd gawk at a woman who was forced to shave her beautiful hair and eyebrows. My eyelashes went too, but at least I was given the mercy of permission to wear fake eyelashes. I'll have you know I took great pride in my looks, but now, ruined."
"My apologies," Okisato sighed as he began to walk away.
"WAIT! ...I'm stuck. Please help!"
Okisato scowled as he turned back around. "You don't look stuck to me."
"Perhaps not yoga-wise, but I'm unable to rise. I fear an adhesive is keeping me down."
Okisato began walking away once more
"The hell's wrong with you!? You ever learn to respect women!?"
Okisato simply ignored the bald girl, for he could tell she was not being truthful. Yet before he could get any further, a blonde-haired girl suddenly leaped out of hiding.
"HOW FIENDISH! A woman calls for help, yet you turn your back on her!? This is why Maila despises the men of the era."
Upon hearing the name, Maila, Okisato let out a sigh and turned to face the bald girl. "So you're with the Estonian team then?"
The bald girl blinked for a few seconds before smirking and leaping to her feet. "Well hat's off if I had one. You're pretty observant."
"Chess players need to be. Now care to explain the stunt?"
"Just a little fun. Now guess my name."
"Rumpelstiltskin."
"Wrong, jackass, two more chances."
"Alright, Onee-san."
The bald girl twitched for a bit before scowling and getting within an inch of Okisato's face. "Oi, Jap, you tryin to piss me off?"
"How so? Õnne IS you name, Õnne Sokk, to be precise."
The playful smirk returned as the bald girl clapped her hands. "Nerves of steel. Guess there's hope for men after all."
"Õnne, Maila is confused. He didn't help you like a man should, so why do you now have faith?" Maila asked.
"Uh, cuz he's based. Didn't put up with my bullshit, and even got in a pissing contest with me. Plus he was totally erecting at the sight of my smooth. Dude's based and I like it."
Contrary to her name, Õnne Sokk fell more into the mischievous little sister archetype. She also had very specific tastes in men, wanting a guy that could quote, "Slap my ass and send me back to the kitchen." The best words to describe her were "volatile" and "unstable".
Maila Rõivas on the other hand was far more innocent, and fashioned herself a self-proclaimed savior of the world. This worldview was entirely based around her upbringing as in the cult-like village she was raised in, she was proclaimed to be a savior. Though there was one thing she had in common with Õnne; both were good at chess.
The sound of footsteps echoed as the remaining members of the Estonian women's team arrived.
"Oh perfect timing. Ladies, meet your new master," Õnne snickered.
SLAP!
"Õnne, must you spew such filth 24/7!?" a bespectacled woman with blonde hair neatly tied up in a ponytail scowled.
"Surprised she actually shaved her head and brows. Now her beauty took a damn hit," a girl covered in tattoos scoffed.
"You're one to talk, Virve. You're literally Miss Inked Estonia," a girl with translucent light blue hair frowned.
"Shut it, bimbo."
Okisato quickly recognized the three. The tattooed girl was Virve Kaljulaid, the board 3 player for the team while the blue-haired girl was Külli Lüüs, the reserve member, who also believed she was an alien. The remaining woman was Valve Kohver, Estonia's prime minister.
"My apologies for this slut's insolence. Despite her attitude, she is both a highly rated chess player and one of the aces of our team. I would kindly ask you refrain from reporting her behavior," Valve glared.
The tone of her voice suggested this was more of a threat than a request, but Okisato didn't care either way. With a nonchalant shrug, he was off, or so he hopped.
"Maila doesn't trust you. Maila thinks you're a bad man!" Maila glared as she blocked Okisato's path.
"Ugh, then how about a pick-up chess game to resolve this?"
That proved to be a hit, though to Okisato's surprise, Õnne volunteered to be the one to play.
"A bit ironic for you to be the one playing."
"Not at all, I'm the only one that can beat ya," Õnne grinned as she flashed her WWCF card.
"2338?"
"Yeah, still pains me it ain't 2369, but chess is where I get serious. It's the only thing that gets me a paycheck after all. Oh, and I also studied the Bongcloud and know how to counter it perfectly."
This line was an obvious provocation, but it mattered not to Okisato.
"Now before we begin, I gotta call my boyfriend," Õnne blushed as she pulled out her smartphone.
The other girls, with the exception of Maila, all scowled in disgust, queuing Okisato that he was about to witness something cringe-worthy.
"EY! Dafuq took you so long to check in!? Dafuq are you, bitch!?" a male voice rang out from the phone.
Õnne suddenly sunk to the ground in tears and held her phone in the air, revealing a balding, obese, young man on the other end of what appeared to be a video call.
"Oh Meelis, you told me to shut up after I bawled my eyes out following my bald makeover. I'm still not over it! How could you tell them to reduce me from a goth bombshell to a hairless slut!?"
"SHUT UP, WHORE! You're my bitch n' if I say you go bald ugly goth, you bald ugly goth! Suck my dick!"
Okisato's eyes widened in shock and disgust as Meelis shoved his dick on screen, causing Õnne to tremble and lick the screen with her tongue.
"Ugh, that's enough. Man, don't worry about this bullshit; that "boyfriend" of hers is just some AI trash she whipped up to arouse herself with," Valve snarled.
Õnne's tears stopped as she rose and shot Valve a death glare. "Oi, your momma ever tell you not to kink shame, you fucking slut?"
"No, she didn't. And it isn't "kink shaming", it's explaining your degeneracy to those who don't know you, so we don't have to spend ANOTHER FUCKING HOUR EXPLAINING YOUR FUCKED UP ROLE-PLAY TO THE POLICE AGAIN!"
Õnne Sokk was a gifted programmer, working at a prominent IT firm in Tallinn. However, her degenerate desires led to her creating an AI caricature known as Meelis, who was programmed to act like an abusive boyfriend. She had even gone the extra mile and created a full model of him. Naturally, many of her colleagues looked upon her with disgust and scorn. Not only was she obsessed with being in an abusive relationship with an AI, but she'd constantly role-play with it wherever and whenever.
"Please, they already got the testimonies, so if we call em, we just tell em to pull it up. Now shut up and let me lick Meelis' dick," Õnne snarled.
"Um, we gonna play or not? I'd like to get going," Okisato snarled as he tried in vain to sneak past Maila.
"Maila was told by Õnne that to save the world, Õnne must seduce King Meelis the hero warrior. Maila won't let you leave when Õnne is sacrificing so much!"
"Yeah, let the guy leave. Thanks to dumbass' fucked-upness being exposed, he holds all the cards now," Virve growled.
"Nah, I'm playing him. I want to know his openings," Õnne grinned as she pocketed her smartphone and sent a challenge request to Okisato.
"You sure delayed it, but the same goes for me; I'd love to see what openings you have," Okisato snarled.
