Chapter 6:
The tsundere in my class secretly loves me!
"Hey, helper you found anyone yet?" Reina asked as her tiny body sprawled out on the desk beneath her. Futoshi turned his head before allowing his gaze to meet the petite figure who occupied the seat adjacent to his own.
Seeing the rather lax state she was in, Futoshi let a wry smile tug at the corners of his lips. For once, she doesn't seem in the mood to throw orders around. Futoshi placed his palm under his chin before he puffed out his chest. "Yeah, yeah, I've found someone, but we gotta do something for him first." Reina's hazelnut eyes widened at the good news that had been brought before her; they lit up like they were reflecting the sun. She was one step closer to realizing the main quest that she had set forth on.
"Really? I guess I've taught you well." In that moment, Reina closed her eyes before a wry smile tugged at her lips. You could tell she wanted to savour the moment. Seeing this, Futoshi rolled his eyes as a disappointed sigh left his lungs.
"And what happened to calling me by my name?" Reina, who was still basking in the glory of her self-proclaimed victory, folded her arms before averting her gaze to the window beside her. Her cheeks flushed.
"Well, I decided you don't deserve the satisfaction, hmph!" Futoshi's brow furrowed as he grit his teeth. As annoyed as he was at that pitiful excuse, he decided not to pry further. Seeing how Reina had finally acknowledged his efforts, he brought the conversation back on its main topic.
"Yeah, so this guy. He'll be our first customer. He's agreed to join us if we help him confess to one of our senpai." Reina leaned back in her chair as if to gain as much distance between Futoshi as she could.
"Why are you acting all mysterious...creepy dog! Just say the damn name already, it's rude to leave a master waiting, y'know!"Futoshi bit his lip at the snarky remark. This ungrateful little- After all I've done! Well... I guess it's become our dynamic now, huh? And anyway, why is she so fixated on this 'Confession club' anyway?
"Ugh, whatever, do you want to meet him or what, Ms. Honour s-t-u-d-e-n-t?" Futoshi mouthed the words 1 syllable at a time. As he sprang upright from his seat, he covered her mouth with his hand as if to stop Reina from butting in. "Haruto, come here a minute." In response to this bellowing call, Haruto sprinted to Futoshi's side. It looked like he was something akin to a pet running to its owner. Honestly, it looked just like that; anyone could tell just from a glance. As soon as Haruto reached the space between Futoshi and Reina, he bent his knee. If this were in a formal setting, he looked like he was ready to get knighted by a king.
"Hello, Sakura-sama, it is such a pleasure to make your acquaintance." The way he bowed so elegantly-
"FUTOSHI! Why did you bring me another weirdo, huh?" Reina clenched her fists before raising her sharp-tongued onslaught once more. Honestly, hearing him use the 'Sama' honorific would be weird to anybody who's in the same class, but to Reina, it was a whole other ordeal. In an instant, her brow furrowed as she turned her nose up to his knightly remark. She lifted a finger before pointing daggers towards Haruto."And you! Do you realize how creepy that sounds? We're in the same class, at least use san! "Great...just great. Now Haruto's gone and messed up this situation more than it already was.
Seeing that the situation was starting to escalate, Futoshi clapped his hands together." Ugh... You two thats enough." Futoshi pointed his hand in Haruto's direction. "Sakura-san, this is Haruto..." His gaze narrowed in Haruto's direction before pulling his cheek. "He wants to ask for your help, and in return, you've agreed to join our club, haven't you, Haruto?" Due to the sheer pain of the pull and sensing Futoshi's anger brewing, all Haruto could muster was a cowardly tilt of his head. A nod.
Hearing what he was there for, Reina did a complete 180. Probably so, he actually follows through and joins. Reina's eyes widened before softening at the crinkles. "Oh, so that's why you're here, huh, Nakamura-kun? Reina said as she gazed at Haruto before putting her palms together. "Hmmm, let's get straight to the point. Who do you like, Nakamura-kun?" Haruto's eyes met the floor beneath him. It was like Reina had caught him with his hand in the cookie jar when he wasn't allowed any. "O..jino-sen-pai." The normally obnoxious Haruto had hidden himself away in his shell, tucked his tail between his legs at that quizical question Reina posed to him. he had been had, that's for sure.
A wry smirk tugged at Reina's lips before raising her hands. "Here, that dog? the vigilanties of romance make their debut! You better be excited, hmph!"And back to the dog thing again. Reina said as she puffed out her tiny chest.
"What happened to calling me Futoshi, huh? You barely even call me by my last name, what makes you think you can use my first?" Futoshi let his chin lie in his palm. At the same time, a smirk ran across his face. He had caught her red-handed, after all; if she wasn't willing to use his last name, why should she get the privilege of using his first? In that sense, Futoshi clearly understood he had the better argument.
Reina froze before her eyes slightly quivered at the corners. How was she going to get out of this predicament? That's what probably ran through her mind the moment she found herself in such a bad situation. "Uh...well.... you're my dog, so it's alright for an owner to be on first name basis with their pets, isn't that right?" Reina averted her gaze from Futoshi as she puffed out her cheeks. She was cornered, and she knew that. You could tell by the way she carried herself. As if disregarding Futoshi's obvious logic, she turned to Haruto. Her cheeks were red, infact you could've compared them to the sun.
"Al..right, Haruto, let's get you with that senpai, shall we? Cmon..."
