Chapter 1:
Re:Vile -Judgment of the Frail Lords-
Water—The most ambivalent force that allows life on countless planets to prosper with truly astonishing variations of organisms. Effortlessly sculpting the entirety of any planet that it passively circulates within. With such an insurmountable force it is only natural to form a fear of it. Especially for lowly organisms that are still cognizant of the fact that it is an absolute necessity for its own survival. In spite of this duality that water has earned, it is still incredibly talented in forming masterful topography for the equally fascinating organisms to inhabit.
To begin this Observational Study. On a planet with an adroitness for creating islands. This one in particular has little outstanding attributes that firmly separate it from other Tropical land masses embraced by crystalline shores, as the two are connected by powdery white sand with a golden sheen. The scent of the ocean water was as constant as the glassy waves, perpetually swinging in and out of the sandy shore. Limitless plantlife covering where the sand stopped, as well as, suffocating the large, overawe boulders on the coastline. Idyllic environment for any researcher.
The most striking plant was this subtly violent red weed. Displaying as if an arthropod was skewered by a flower’s sharped stem. Weed only comes to mind, since it has covered the area, seemingly unwanted by the land due to its random placement from the beach to the nearby sandy forest. Regardless of this plant's nature, it is much more preferable than the true infectious activity that Rife Organisms tend to develop.
Alas, that idyllic scenery isn’t devoid of the aforementioned Rife Organisms. Beneath some of the beach's unique foliage, sat a lone organism. Based on previous Categorization entries, they are likely Female, Bipedal, with an enlarged skull, indicating that it has accomplished higher cognitive awareness. Supported by the capability of fabricated clothing for the sandy and oceanic environments.
Beside her, impaled into the sand, was a large club or staff. Roughly 170cm, then assuming that the girl must be a little over 150 herself. The staff was sleek mahogany tone, with a barely visible clear gem embedded on the side of the staff’s peak. Possibly a tool for walking? Perhaps. Who knows what this world has.
The symbolic thought of comparing this one to the Clever Fox soon surfaced. Visually distinct yet perfectly hidden for whatever purpose the fox has planned. Appearing to be hiding herself beneath the odd trees, yet the moment she’s focused onto, she becomes easily recognizable. She could also just be avoiding the incessant rays of their yellow dwarf star.
Sitting on her partially exposed bottom, her knees pointed upward as to comfortably bury her bare feet in the nearby sand. The girl just looked to be disconnected from herself and the world around her, even bothered by her position. Appearing to be unsure of what to be doing at this very moment, simply gazed at the vastness of the sea—Or maybe she’s just bored.
Aside from her withdrawn expression, the most apparent feature of this girl is that her ears seem to be peeking out from her short, bouffant hair with bangs that covers some of one eye. Somewhat of a very thin oval, no more than a dozen centimeters, perfect size to capture any far away sound. Someone like yourself might consider the appearance of this disinterested girl to be that of an Elf. A being that is often represented in mythology and folktales on several thousands of other planets.
Looking over the many eye-catching observations. One might be curious: this picturesque landscape may not be as it seems. She began to draw something in the sand, likely to appease her presumed boredom. As soon as she did, she revealed her other arm that was resting in her lap. This arm had a sling with a layer of bandages covering most of her hand and arm.
The moment she finished her scribbling in the sand. She looked up and something quickly caught her eye. Now visible were her light violet eyes, full of interest. With her modest hand, she grabbed her staff to aid her in standing up straight. To then stick the staff back into the sand, so that she could pat the sand off of her rear and lower calves.
Quickly with her usable hand she fluttered two fingers in front of her mouth as she made a strong whistle. Within minutes of the unusual sound. Right beside her, three other young women gathered. Sharing similar complexions of organisms that reside near large bodies of water: each distinct to appreciate their uniqueness from glimmering bronze to clouded honey, all with a slight golden undertone.
“Oi!” Soon one of the disinterested girl‘s cohort ran to the shore, shouting to get the attention of an odd sight.
It was apparent what was so eye-catching for the disinterested girl. The odd sight was another young person. This time, appearing to have a more masculine structure. Nothing too captivating about this one: short dark hair, peroxide stained skin, uneasy brown eyes, holding it all together is a button up shirt and tie with dress pants with worn yet comfortable sneakers. They look as if they just got off of working in the office, and yet they also seem to have been walking in the cold as by their posture.
Yes, quite dull compared to the rest of the scenery. However, what is interesting is the seemingly randomness that is displayed on this beach.
“Oi! Mr. Beyonder!” High pitched and welcoming, the one shouting seemed to be the most excited by this person, with a moderate pace to the out of place boy. The others had a much more casual stride, especially the disinterested girl; several steps behind her cohort.
“Hi! Aren’t you a Beyonder?” The excited girl asked with a quiet yet bright smile.
“Um, Beyonder?” The boy repeated, confused by the question, attempting to straighten his back.
“Why are you asking that, they aren’t going to know what that name means?” Soon the tallest of the four made the impression.
“Oh, yeah, I guess you are right.” The excited girl giggled at her odd greeting.
“What is going on? Where am I?” Still confused, the boy had more questions.
“Muara Enim!” The excited girl answered with a calm charm.
“Well, whe-where is that?” The boy asked, shaking his head.
“Um, it's an island in the Java Cluster…?” She continued, as her tone lowered in uncertainty.
“I don’t think it understands.” The one making such a casual remark, as if the boy wasn’t there; is the one similar to the disinterested girl, but with much longer hair.
“What is happening? I was just in my room, about to fall asleep then I was suddenly surrounded by water!” Frustrated, the boy mentioned in an equally dull droll. Clutching his own damp body in confusion.
“Alright, alright. So you're a Beyonder. Which means they’ll need some help, right?” The Tallest professionally declared.
“What’s a 'Beyonder’?” The boy asked.
“Just someone from somewhere… Beyond! I guess. You came from someplace different from here right?” The excited girl mentioned.
“Let’s start with Party introductions first.” The Tallest announced with a smooth charm.
To the understandable knowledge of this world: ‘Beyonder’ is essentially what the girl described. Someone from Beyond—Beyond where exactly? That has yet to be discovered: the past, the future, or a wholly different world. This boy seems to be from the titular planet known as Earth. One planet with Tribes of Humans that squirm in the billions: typical, a highly studied species. Difficult to pinpoint which string of Universes the boy might originate, Maria-2023, perhaps? The boy may be able to illuminate this mild mystery.
