S Class Academy

S class academy was an ordinary game where its protagonist Taysom Speculain went through numerous trials over the game's eight chapters in order to graduate. Where do I fall into this? Well that’s simple I don’t, or at least I shouldn't.

There was no mistaking the uniform I was now wearing and the dorm I found myself in. Whether I liked it or not I was now a character inside of S Class Academy 

But who am I? Usually when a dedicated gamer gets teleported into their favorite game they become someone important whether it be the main villain or main character.

The mirror didn't help much I don’t know who I am or anything about this character I’ve taken over. In S class academy’s world every single person is born with an ability, that should include me right?

The door opens and a stranger enters

“Oh hey Ray I did not expect to see you here so close to the preliminary exam.”

I stare for a moment not knowing what to say but I did recognize the man in front of me and I say

“I thought this would be a good place to relax before the exam, you know gather my composure”

The man in front of me was Lance Lockhart, one of S Class Academy’s 25 possible graduates. He was tall with dark blue hair and an athletic frame. In game his aspirations are to become a hero.

 The school guarantees S Class upon graduating which in turn comes with a nice government paycheck every year. Whether you want to be a hero protectors of people against other people, a hunter protectors of people against monsters and dungeons, or an easy life S Class Academy is the school to make it happen.

“Well Ray it's nice to properly meet you even if we briefly met at orientation I hope to keep seeing you!”

“Yeah likewise Lance”

Lance was my roommate?! This could either be a good or a bad thing S Class Academy only allows 10 people to graduate a year and it's the only academy in the whole world that gives the S Class certification after graduation so it's the center of every S Class hopeful.

The first test is one of the most important as it cuts the student body in half pitting roommates against each other.

I don’t stand a chance against Lance Lockhart even this early in the academy, luckily there's an alternative.

While the test is made to look like you have to defeat your roommate you can also team up with them and instead take out a separate set of students.

My victory will depend on how quickly I can convince Lance Lockhart not to defeat me kicking me out of the academy before its even begun, or how quickly I can figure out what my ability is and how to use it to defend myself

I look into my bag to see what I can learn, finding my student ID.

It's a good thing I have this at least as losing your ID is equivalent to expulsion. This was not a usable item in game but it did have its interactions depending on how you played.

My name is Ray Ignare and my ability is Ignite. A flame based ability? I guess that explains the red hair.

Because I had not gotten the time to fully look at myself until now it hadn’t fully sunk in that this body was who I was now…

Medium length Red-orange hair and matching eyes, I was shorter than my real self but I could feel how much stronger than me this body was.

“I suppose it isn't all bad”

The chime of the announcement went off

“WILL ALL YEAR ONE STUDENTS GATHER AT THE ASSEMBLY HALL FOR PRELIMINARY TESTING, ALL YEAR ONE STUDENTS TO THE ASSEMBLY FOR PRELIMINARY TESTING, TESTING WILL BEGIN IN 30 MINUTES”

The almost robotic intercom sounds just like it did in the game.

As I wandered around the familiar yet unfamiliar school I tried my best to use my ability. While I can’t create a wall of white flame like Isaac Angelborne, a fittingly grand name for his family. I was able to set some paper on fire in my hands but nothing more

Maybe it was my lack of understanding of my own ability or maybe it was its nature but I couldn't generate flames without a catalyst.

“HEY”

A familiar female voice shouted at me in the hallway.

“If you keep using your power in the hallway you will set off the sprinklers”

The girl before me was Joy Taylor, another of the 25 possible graduates and best friend of the protagonist.

But if she's here, where is Taysom?

“Yeah sorry I was just trying to warm up is all”

“try not to use all your energy prelims start soon”

She was right I shouldn't keep using up energy I have no idea how much energy using my ability takes from me.

She walked ahead and I followed behind from a distance to find my way to the assembly.

Bumping into her wasn’t all bad, though she is to be avoided in the long term. She seems easy going and carefree, however, that carefreeness turns her into a ruthless student and is one of the strongest in S Class Academy.

Now that I think about it I have no idea what Taysom Speculain will look like. In game he's a customizable character with no presets.

Whatever the case bumping into him or any other possible graduates this early would mean an instant game over and my expulsion. While its tough knowing the events of the future staying in the school will be much more advantageous especially considering the world shaking events to come.

After following Joy from a distance to find the Assembly many thoughts of doubt filled my mind but one thing was for certain.

I will not throw away this life like I did before.

The assembly door opens and thousands of students stand before the stage

*Ahem Ahem* "my name is Abel Sunstone, however, most of you know me as the principal of this esteemed academy. Gathered here today is two thousand ninety one year one students from over fifty countries" 

I couldn't help but feel excited hearing the iconic speech in person for the first time.

"Its no secret that this academy is prestigious and while I believe every man and woman in this room has potential it is mine and the faculties job to whittle this group of two thousand ninety one of the most promising students in the world down to a mere Ten."

"I know this is discouraging, however I would like to remind you all that you set your own limits! If you stand here today and do not believe without a shadow of a doubt that you will graduate here then you should leave now and find another academy" 

His words never lit such a fire in me before and I have heard this speech a thousand times before...

But this time I wasn't hearing it through Taysom Speculain but through my own two ears.

"Good. No one left so without further ado allow me to let Proffesor Night take the stage"

A dark haired woman took the stage and I recognized her as Prof Night the class teacher for this year of students and an alumni from the academy.

"Give it up for Abel Sunstone everyone our academy's principal, but now its my turn to prove half of you wrong and send you home. Every one of you was given a special student ID this card is your lively hood here if at any point its taken you're out. Now will everyone pull it out and look at the letter next to your photo"

I look at my ID and see the letter R next to my photo on the card

"That letter will tell you what room to head too in order to begin the preliminary exam you have 10 minutes to get to your room or you're out goodluck!"

The entire crowd erupted into panic with students pushing and pulling against each other to get to their rooms quickly.

Strangely I remained still maybe it was the confidence of knowing what's to come but I know in my own heart that I can do this.

The Preliminary exam had finally begun.
