Chapter 9:

side story 3 grandma tales

as she pleases of black magic and revenge

As time went on, Blackwood Hall nursery glowed candle-soft. Grandkids – Theo-Morgana's twins boy Ebony and daughter Verse, Luna-Finn's trio of daughters Rune, Shadow, Lore – piled black spider themed pyjamas, wide-eyed. Grandma Vicky, silver-streaked raven hair, violet eyes twinkling, settled rocking chair. Edward beside, book basket ready.

"Darlings," purred poshly, "bedtime weaves dreams. Tonight, vampires, witches, reapers."

Ebon bounced. "Vampires first, Gran!"

Vicky smiled. "The Crimson Court: Lord Draven, eternal lord, fangs pearl in moonlight. Lured virgins not blood, but secrets. 'Come, sweet,' he'd whisper posh, cape swirl. But witch Ravenna trapped him rhyme: 'Fang thee not, nor vein entice / Mirror shows thy vain device.' Draven reformed, court danced eternal waltz." Kids gasped delighted.

Verse clapped. "Witches!"

"Coven's Cauldron: Sisters three, brews bubble. Eldritch Evie, spells sly; Belladonna bold, curses curl; Circe cunning, lovers lure. Brewed storm sink foes. 'By cauldron fire, desire higher,' chanted posh. Normies fled, coven reigned misty moors." Giggles.

Rune yawned excited. "Reapers!"

"Reaper's Waltz: Silas Scythe, cowled collector, blade whispers souls. Spared goth girl Seraphina, verse versed: 'Harvest not young heart so true / Dance with me 'neath reaper's hue.' They twirled shadows, death delayed love's cue. Souls sighed envious."

Edward added soft. "Happy endings, loves."

Vicky pecked foreheads. "Sleep, dream dark delights." Fishnet socks peeked, thigh pat playful. Kids hugged. "Night, Gran witch!"

Shadows cradled dreams gothic sweet.
