Chapter 45:

Afterword [Volume End]

En Passant Grandmaster Volume 5

Hello, and thank you all for reading through this fifth volume of EPGM.  Word wise, it's on the shorter side, but boy does it end on a cliffhanger. Only Okisato remembers who Yuusuke is, yet with Skaberghast's team set to play his in the 1st round of the Chess Olympics, it means he won't be able to challenge him to a DESPER match in the final round. Not like that would have been a guarantee even if Japan wasn't facing Denmark, but it will still affect Okisato's psych a tad.

I feel this volume flowed much better than Volume 4 story-wise as everything weaved together nicely. It also helped that the content in the story, like the Side Story 2 stuff, was some of my favorite stuff to write for the series. And speaking of writing, I had to write a good number of new games for the qualification tournament. And next volume, I might need to write even more, but maybe not as there are still some cut games I can revise for the occasion. Considering how long the Chess Olympics are, it will undoubtedly be split into multiple volumes. My rough estimates are at 3 volumes minimum, but we'll see how things look word count wise.  Thank you all for reading Volume 5. I hope you're looking forward to Volume 6.
