Chapter 20:

The Power of Electromiack

The Cartoon Kid: Shard Hunt.

5:15 p.m. — Guardian's Chamber

Kira and Decibolt walked into the vast chamber, their footsteps echoing against polished stone. The air felt heavier than usual, charged with unease.

"There have been reports of mass destruction in San Francisco," the Guardian said, his voice calm but grave. "The citizens have all evacuated but the summoner is still lurking around."

Decibolt let out a slow breath. "Another day, another one of Theo's powerhouse summons," he said.

Light flared around them as they transformed. The portal opened with a low hum, swallowing them whole.

San Francisco

They emerged into devastation.

Entire blocks had been reduced to rubble. Skyscrapers leaned at impossible angles, their glass blown out. Fires burned unchecked, painting the sky in orange and black. The silence was worse than the destruction—no screams, no sirens, just wind rolling ash across broken streets.

"This is worse than I thought," Molecular Girl said quietly.

In the distance, a lone female figure sat atop a fractured slab of concrete, a shard clenched loosely in her hand, her head bowed.

"They have arrived," the summoner said.

She lifted her head and stood, gripping the shard as she turned toward them.

Decibolt scanned the ruins. "Where's the summon that caused all this?" he asked.

"Who's that?" Molecular Girl said, narrowing her eyes.

The summoner began to walk toward them, her footsteps slow and deliberate. When she stopped in front of them, she said nothing—only stared. Decibolt's gaze dropped to the shard in her hand.

"You caused all this, didn't you?" he said suspiciously.

"A small price to pay for your audience," the summoner replied coldly.

"Okay, we're here," Molecular Girl said. "What do you want?"

"To say the least, I want you both dead," the summoner said.

Silence fell.

"That's what all the summons say," Decibolt replied. "Hurry and call your summon so we can get it over with."

"Lizzy," the summoner said.

Crimson light split the air. A female figure materialized—sleek red-and-black armor hugging her frame, glowing crimson veins pulsing beneath the surface. Her eyes burned molten red.

"Category: Elemental Manipulator. Combat power 7...52!" Molecular Girl said, disbelief creeping into her voice. A faint smile tugged at her lips despite it.

"She's a tad bit stronger than Techno," Decibolt said, concern filling his voice.

"You now realise what lies ahead of you," the summoner said. "Lizzy, I trust you can handle this."

She vanished into the darkness.

"This is perfect training for Techno," Molecular Girl said, determination hardening her gaze. "Just keep it going until her energy goes out."

"Techno..." Lizzy said slowly. "I haven't heard that name in a while."

Her hand became engulfed in red goop streaked with glowing white electric veins. She raised it. The substance split into tendrils and snapped forward, wrapping around both Kira's and Decibolt's chests.

Violent electricity surged through them.

Their bodies convulsed as pain exploded through every nerve. The goop recoiled, dragging them forward before Lizzy drove a brutal kick into both of them, smashing them into the ground.

"What was that?" Molecular Girl gasped, still shaking as electricity crawled across her skin.

"You just got a taste of a substance called Electromiack," Lizzy said calmly.

"Electromiack doesn't exist in any of the five realms," Decibolt said through clenched teeth.

"It does in my world," Lizzy replied.

She paused, eyes narrowing.

"My summoner said she wants you dead," she continued.

Electromiack engulfed her hands as she combined it, stretching and kneading it like clay.

"There are so many ways I can make that happen," she said.

The substance reshaped—knives, spears, shuriken forming effortlessly.

"Let's start with something simple," Lizzy said.

The shapes merged into a long curved blade.

"A primitive scythe should be a good enough starter," she added.

She rushed forward and swung at Kira, who barely dodged. The blade hissed past her face.

"Oh no, you don't escape Electromiack that easily," Lizzy said.

Tendrils erupted from the scythe, wrapping around Kira's limbs and electrocuting her midair. She hit the ground hard, body spasming.

Lizzy turned confidently toward Decibolt. The scythe extended, its blade liquefying into goop that wrapped around him. She smashed him into the ground and tossed him aside like scrap.

Both of them forced themselves upright, muscles trembling.

"Kinetic punch," Molecular Girl said.

She struck the ground. Rocks tore free and launched toward Lizzy—but shattered harmlessly on impact.

Lizzy smirked.

Electromiack formed on each of her fingers, turning into snapping tendrils. She sprinted forward, the ground tearing apart beneath her feet. She swung both arms—whips of Electromiack—slamming both heroes into the ground.

"Pathetic," Lizzy said. "If this is the best you have to offer, then you have no chance."

Electromiack engulfed her arms, climbed her back, and formed two massive limbs. She seized both of them, dragged them across the street, and hurled them into a boulder.

"Get up and fight me!" she demanded.

They staggered upright. The giant arms melted back into goop and reformed into wrist blades. Lizzy rushed them, slashed, then absorbed the Electromiack and kicked them both down again.

"My master Ronitil taught me to fight battles I knew I could win, even though she was turned evil by evil forces," Lizzy said. "Anyway, you guys can't win this fight. You might as well go back to the hole you came from."

"We're not going anywhere," Decibolt said.

"Stubborn, are you?" Lizzy replied. "I'll give you one last chance. If you don't take it, I'll see this till the end."

"Then let's get on with it," Molecular Girl said.

Her aura flared. She rushed forward, unleashing a barrage of kicks and punches. Lizzy blocked every strike effortlessly, coated her hand in Electromiack, and slammed Molecular Girl into the ground.

"Supersonic Decibolt — Sonic Storm!" Decibolt shouted.

Lizzy's face remained blank as she formed a massive blob of Electromiack, caught every sonic disc, compressed them, destroyed them, then hurled the blob back. Electricity surged as it struck Decibolt, knocking him down before recoiling and being absorbed.

Sparks danced across his armor as he stood.

"Sonic step!" he said.

He rushed her, punched—but Electromiack surged over his body, forcing him back before snapping away.

"Molecular fusion!" Molecular Girl said.

She fused rocks and hurled them. Lizzy punched them to dust. Kira burst through.

"Full body repulsion!" she shouted.

Lizzy slid back slightly—then smirked and punched her into the ground.

"I'm not done yet," Molecular Girl said, jumping up.

"Kinetic punch barrage!" she yelled.

She charged, leapt, and attacked. Lizzy dodged, punched her down—yet Kira rose again.

"Why won't you stay down, you pest?" Lizzy snapped.

A massive tendril slammed Kira into the ground.

Lizzy's brows lifted as the air shifted.

Decibolt slipped out of a portal. She turned instantly and punched him back through. He reappeared—and she spin-kicked him flat.

"Let's try this," Lizzy said.

Blobs formed on her back, becoming giant arms. They rushed forward. Decibolt leapt onto sonic platforms, vaulted over them, and reached her.

"You almost had me," Lizzy said sarcastically.

A colossal tendril slapped him into the ground.

"Gravitational Kinesis Attack II: Anti-gravity!" Molecular Girl shouted.

Lizzy was launched upward.

"Gravitational Kinesis Attack IV: Cyclonic Gravit!" she continued.

A vortex trapped Lizzy and hurled her away. She grabbed rocks with her arms and landed safely. The arms merged into a massive spiked weapon that slammed into the ground, sending both heroes flying. A final tendril smashed them down.

"We've tried everything," Decibolt said.

"I haven't tried my repulsion field," Molecular Girl replied.

Tendrils rushed them.

"Repulsion field!" she cried.

Electromiack crushed through it, electrocuted her, and slammed her down.

"Only one thing left to try," Decibolt said.

"Super—" Molecular Girl began.

"Final—" Decibolt continued.

"Kinetic punch—"

"Supersonic ripple blast!"

They struck together.

Electromiack wrapped Lizzy's hands. She caught the attack and crushed it.

"Why does this feel like déjà vu?" Decibolt muttered.

Tendrils surged, trapping them inside a massive blob.

"June, where's the nearest body of water?" Lizzy asked.

"3 km northwest," June replied.

"You don't have to be a genius to know this is gonna hurt," Lizzy said.

She spun and hurled the blob toward the ocean.

Mid-air

"I-If w-we hit the w-water w-we're d-done for..." Molecular Girl stammered.

"I-I c-can't c-create a r-ipple p-ortal..." Decibolt said.

"I th-think I c-can r-reach my g-galaxom..." she replied.

She pressed it.

A portal opened.

They fell through.

Guardian's Chamber

"Oh my," the Guardian said.

With a gesture, he tore the Electromiack away from them with his telekinesis.

Battlefield

"It should have ended by now," Lizzy said.

She tugged—but nothing returned.

Guardian's Chamber

The Electromiack writhed wildly, darting toward the portal—but the Guardian sealed it shut.

Battlefield

"Odd. I can't bring my Electromiack back," Lizzy said.

"They must have escaped," June replied.

"If they did, it would have to be to space or another dimension," Lizzy said.

"We'll try this again," June said. "I release you of your existence."

Lizzy vanished in yellow smoke. June faded into shadow.

Guardian's Chamber

"Another summon defeated us..." Kira said quietly as she recovered.

"And this one's even stronger than Techno," Hakim said. "What if there are more?"

"Then we'll just have to train for 600+ summons," the Guardian replied.
