Chapter 1:

α - ω

No Land of Return

Thousands found that they had suddenly been transported from their beds, their cubicles, their vehicles.

The world that greeted them was bright and fantastical, as if they had stepped into a novel.

Life went on, not without its hiccups as they adjusted to their new world. They adapted to it just as it adapted them. Those working the mines grew stronger and more robust, while those that hunted became more lithe and agile.

Communities formed and sprung up. Medicines were nothing like they were in that fading world, but far more effective. Days turned into weeks, into months, into years.

But no time had passed in the real world.

Those thousands returned to that world just as suddenly. A long forgotten one without colour, and community. Worse were the years of experiences they remembered.

The world plunged into chaos. Some tore themselves apart, others their neighbours. For the thousands had seen another world that they knew existed, but had no proof of it except within their psyche.

How could they consider themselves insane, when all those around them had no idea what was out there.

They just had to be shown.

No Land of Return
