Summer Is Coming Early

Students from my school filled my line of sight, with confused look on their faces, wondering what's happening? I'm peacefully sitting inside the classroom, eating my lunch earlier and now I'm standing in an unfamiliar place with the fried chicken that I'm eating using my right hand missing. It seems we're in a field enough to contain hundreds of students, or maybe a thousand. The place is full of noise and I can't see what's in the front and back because of the large number of students. There's nothing much to see aside from the large European castle in front of us.

On the balcony of the castle, there stands a middle-aged man wearing a crown, a king. Then the woman to his right must be the queen, to both of their sides must be the prince and princess. There are knights standing behind them and on their sides, to guard them. Even if there's little to no clue, I already knew what kind of situation this is, I had read several hundreds light novels with these kind of genre. Isekai huh? I just hope I'm dreaming, I mean villainess and those guys that are kicked out of the party are the hot topic right now so why is this even happening? Whoever made this happen is already too late for the party.

As I was thinking of unnecessary thoughts, the sound of trumpets brought me back to reality, the talking around me stops and they looked at the front, where the sound came from at the same time. There are two knights using the instrument on the balcony, probably a way to gather the attention of the students. After the sound of trumpets stop and the students' voice quiet down, without caring about my empty stomach, the king started talking again.

"Thank you for answering our calls, heroes." We didn't get any call though, we were transferred here abruptly. "The reason we summoned you heroes here, is because our kingdom is currently experiencing a major crisis, the recent attacks of the nations surrounding our country is slowly weakening our military forces." A good way to avoid saying you're currently in war. "...and with the abyss monsters and the demon clan growing stronger and stronger each day, we have no choice but to seek help from heroes of another world." He's crying huh? It might be embarassing to see a middle-aged man crying but it does mean he's showing his sincerity, right?

We don't know if he's telling lies or the truth and are those tears real or fake? The truth about the attacks of other nations, abyss monsters and demons, we can't ascertain the truth with little information. The students have different looks on their faces, most of them are still confused and worried but there are people who are excited and already planning what they're gonna do, I'm talking about those otakus. There are also others who are against the idea of helping the kingdom, well they're basically strangers... and other students that have faces I can't read. Then my next course of action is already decided, I'll just wait for my class' decision and just follow them, they often disregard me everytime I give my opinions anyway and I'm too hungry to do anything.

The only thing I learned about this is that... summoning people from another world is shit. It's basically the same as kidnapping and if you fall in love with their kingdom then it's Stockholm syndrome. He didn't even mention about a reward for saving their kingdom, usually the king would've offer the princess' hand to marry to anyone who killed the last boss, money or a way to get back to your own world would've been fine too, but the king didn't say anything than can be an exchange for saving their kingdom. Only people who have a kind heart can accept this kind of deal, and if ever the kingdom choose to force the students to act, then this situation might be worse than a charity event. Dumping your problems to your hostages, only idiots will be happy over this.

The king's speech after that can only be considered as a bore, that I almost let out a yawn. Using difficult words with empty meanings to persuade the student body, like the principal's speech that every school did on entrance ceremony and others. I'm more interested in how can his voice reach us even though he's not using a mic.

After the king's speech we entered the castle, and were brought to different rooms divided by classes. All of the teachers went to a different room, it seems the whole faculty is also transported to this world. They followed a knight that would bring them to the king, they apparently requested for a discussion. At times like these where the students are divided, the only solution is to rely on adults. For only a few can see the bigger picture and that includes them, not like these guys who are already getting excited on the prospects of another world.

"Just like we thought, Souma got the Hero Class."

"We already expected it but it's still surprising."

Every students needs to be appraised in order to determine their classes, that's why we were brought to this room... and in our class, Class 2-C, our very own popular basketball ace got the Hero Class.

"Next." The guy who's handling our appraisal said after our class' celebration. He waited for us to quiet down, he's pretty understanding.

"I'll go next." Is what I said but is it good to go after the most popular guy who got the most incredible class, won't they insult and laugh at me if I get a class that doesn't suit me? There's only a few people who haven't gotten their turn yet, I guess I'll just steel myself.

"Please put both of your hands on the tablet." He's talking about a stone tablet, the size of a laptop laid on the table.

"Alright." I followed his instructions and put my hands on the tablet.

The writings on the tablet shone a white light and a holographic screen suddenly appeared in front of me.

"In order to unlock your status screen, you need to think of the name you want to put in, you can put your own name or completely change it and create a new one, anything is fine." Eh? So it functions like a username, I can choose a name to my liking. In times like these I would put a really cool name but since I'm in front of my classmates, a normal name is fine.

After I thought of the name I want, the screen changed and [USER REGISTRATION COMPLETED] is what's written on it, and then the display changed again after a second and it revealed my status screen.

Hmmm? A title, it seems everyone also got this. A perk an otherwolder can only get.

"A Pyromancer, a rare class, not bad." Our handler said but compared to the others who have more than hundred in their stats and the hero who already exceeded the thousand, mine is nothing much.

"He already said it's a good class, why are you frowning?" A tap came on my shoulder.

I looked at the person who tapped my shoulder and it was my friend, Haruka. A slightly boyish and athletic type of girl. Energetic and friendly, the kind of girl you can easily talk to.

"I'm just worried about the weather."

"Why?" She gave me a confused look.

"What season is it right now in this country, Mister?" I asked our class' handler.

"The year only started so it's currently spring."

"Do you understand now?" I asked her.

"What the hell are you talking about?" She's still lost on what I'm trying to say. "Did you hit your head? Are you okay?" And now she's genuinely worried.

"Fine, I'll explain it in a way that even someone like you can understand." I put on my serious face and looked at her, our classmates look at the two of us with tense expression and the atmosphere became heavy.

"Okay." She gulped and readied herself for my words.

"I got the Pyromancer Class, right?" She nodded. "But I'm already a very hot guy."

"Huh?"

"Doesn't that mean summer is coming early, I'm just afraid everyone would get heatstroke because of me." I combed my hair with my right hand and spread my arms right after. "You guys should drink a lot of water and avoid getting dehydrated." I said as I pointed at them.

"..."

Everyone gave me a sigh as a response but the girl in front of me is really angry, I can even see a vein twitching on her forehead because of her anger.

"Well I already expected something like this."

"Even in another world he's in his usual self."

"He doesn't really change."

"Hahahahaha." My classmates just brushed it off like normal.

"Haaaaaaaaaahhh." Haruka let out a long sigh and before I noticed her fist is already coming for my stomach.

"Urgh..." I fell on my knees while clutching my stomach, so this is the power of a Brawler Class... terrifying.

"It seems the hotness got inside your head, you need to cool down."

"Ohh, nice follow-up." I give her a thumbs up while agonizing in pain.
