Chapter 104:
meet the bloodbriars
Field trips. School buses. Crowds of screaming, germ-ridden children.
…Absolute nonsense.
I’ve never understood the appeal. Not for me. Not for Beckett. And certainly not for Peresphone and Hades.
From birth, the twins were raised in a carefully curated environment.
Quiet. Controlled. Observant. Stoic. Perfect little reflections of Beckett and me.
“…Why on earth would we waste our time on a bus?” Peresphone muttered once, expression perfectly flat.
“…Or go to some chaotic museum especially with the state of art where one just puts a banana or eats a poor rodent alive these days?” Hades added.
I smirked. “…Exactly. You’ll learn more at home, quietly, without the noise and chaos of the outside world.”
Beckett, as usual, hovered near his favorite chair, gloves on, scarf snug, surgical mask in place. “…Agreed. And it’s far safer than any field trip.”
So, what do we do on our day off?
Otome games.
Discord conversations with Analise.
Laughing at how easily she teases me about my “bishie preferences” again.
“…Diana, really?” she typed. “…Another sweet, shy, smart, introverted one?”
I typed back, smirking. “…Yes. Just like… someone I know.”
Our private servers are alive with quiet activity: family chats, in-law chats, twin chats.
No social media nonsense. No drama. Just our circles, reminiscent of the old IRC days, only more controlled, more secure, more… Bloodbriar-approved.
The twins even have their own place in the servers. Quiet observers, occasionally dropping sarcastic comments or correcting spelling and grammar with deadpan precision. Although even i admit, my own grammar online can be more casual and lax when im caught up in depth conversation with Annalise,Lina and Mira over excitement with our interests and more so intimate with Beckett when both of us off the clock with the occasional pic sent here and there hehhehehe.
Today, though, they decided to take things further.
“…Daddy looks down,” Peresphone whispered to Hades.
“…Let’s cheer him up,” Hades replied, perfectly monotone.
With subtle coordination, they created a burner account and targeted a creepy little online forum filled with nonsense, lies, and creepy people.
Within hours, the place was gone.
No fuss. No drama. Just a quiet victory to cheer up Beckett, who had just taken his psychiatric meds and hypertension pills.
He looked up, adjusting his glasses. “…Did… did the twins just…?”
I leaned over, smirking. “…Yes. They did. And they’re perfectly justified.”
