Chapter 18:
side stories of the bloodbriars
After dinner, the living room was quiet, only the crackle of the fireplace filling the space. Diana approached Beckett, kneeling beside him again. The faint scent of fish teased through the air from her earlier indulgences, a playful hint.
She let her lips brush near the edge of his mask, her hand tracing lightly along his glove. Beckett’s body tensed, then relaxed, every inch surrendered.
She whispered, soft and commanding, “For me… all for me.”
Every gesture, every exhale, every subtle touch was a promise of intimate devotion. The twins peeked around the corner, rolling their eyes knowingly.
“Mom’s at it again,” Peresphone muttered.
“Dad’s fine with it,” Hades added.
Beckett leaned slightly toward her, mask brushing her lips, and she smiled, knowing every subtle movement communicated their closeness and trust.
