Chapter 7

She looked around and saw stacks of paper, which was normal. However, a few clipped papers caught her eye, revealing information about them. The doctor and scientists had wanted both Ray and Aki, but could only secure one, so they took the sick one. Ray's eyes were red because he can see how people would die simply by looking at them. In contrast, the flower mark consumed Aki.

It appeared when he was five and grew larger when he also grew older. Even if he could use his abilities for whatever he wanted, the boy’s “curse” manifested more like a disease. Upon investigating the other fate, they found his parents murdered. His first vision was himself, how his father was going to kill his mother, then him. Seeing this, his father was going after Ray already, but he killed his father. People found him in the house, covered in blood, and knew had murdered his parents. The papers also revealed that Alice was a plant, one that grew by consuming, not out of hunger or dissatisfaction. To not be weak, having a body and she could heal herself.

Learning this information causes Alice to faint and forget everything. Alice started all over but for everyone else, it was like no other day. Ray, always watching Alice, or one should say always there when needed, would bring her back to the house where everything started and ended. She would often die, whether at the hands of ‌doctors or scientists. More often than not, being killed by Ray and Aki, the ones she loved so much, was the reason she forgot everything.

One time Alice died was a surprise. Looking at the flowers that Alice collected and then put in a bottle with liquid that would keep them from dying. Ray’s large finger laces her small throat. Looking to see who it was? Ray's face was the same as always, expressionless, but the sadness was in his eyes; there were no more tears to shed.

Alice's breathing stopped right away as Ray’s strength squeezed their hold on Alice did not hold back. Only looking at Ray, Alice showed him a slime that she would always give him as he said the three words. The flowers that grew out of Aki were really painful. Alice was there by his side, trying to take the pain off him, but the flower grew out to eat Alice and Aki. There was no scream that came from them.
