[5.4] This Holiday Feels 'kinda' Lacking: The Night With Him/Her Part 2

"Hey, I'm back", Mei greeted Yu, who was waiting for her outside of his dorm.

"Oh... You bought midnight snacks and drinks?"

She panicked and said, "Yeah... Yeah, that's why I went outside. I was preparing for our sleepover."

Yu noticed she was panicking. He reached his hands and hugged her tightly.

"It's okay, Mei. You can be... horny... all you want if it's with me."

The words echoed inside her head, "Horny... Horny... Horny..."

She tried to escape Yu's hug, but couldn't.

"I won't let go of you again. It's almost ten. Girls couldn't be outside alone at night."

Her heart beat. Her face blushed. She was drenched in sweat. Her energy was almost at zero.

"Yu... I think... I think I'm about to pass out."

Yu gasped and quickly carried Mei like a princess. He did that out of his character. He never would do that, but because James has been telling him how to deal with girls, his instinct just kicked in.

"YU! WHAT ARE YOU DOING? PUT ME DOWN!"
"No! I would never let you pass out on the street! You're coming into my room!"
"You're so different from what my vision. I never thought you would do this."
"Sorry! My instinct and James' advice are working together to make me do this."

Mei couldn't reply and actually passed out. Yu saw her and thought, "You're looking brighter than ever, Mei."

Time has passed. Mei woke up and saw the time.

"It's one. I didn't even realize I was asleep."

She took a look around. She didn't see Yu and wondered where he was. Then her phone rang.

She picked it up, and it said "Mom". She answered, "Hello?"

Mei could clearly hear her mom panicking through the phone. Her breath was very heavy, and even her heartbeat could be heard.

"Where the heck are you? Why did you not respond?"

She felt so bad. She forgot to inform her parents that she spent the night with Yu.

She hasn't told her parents that she has a boyfriend, so she lied, "Sorry, Mom. I guess I was too excited spending my time with... Astrid, that I exhausted."

Her mom knew Mei was lying, so she immediately confronted, "Mei... I called Mr. and Mrs. Farrel. Who are you with? Don't lie to me, young lady!"

She was drenched in sweat. She was panicking. She couldn't answer. But then, she felt his gentle touch on her shoulder. She looked at him. He was smiling and whispered, "Don't be scared. Go with the flow."

She felt calmer.

"Mei? MEI?! MEI KARTIKA!"
"Sorry! I'm sorry."
"..." They didn't know why her mom didn't respond.

Mei continued, "Mom. I know this is so sudden, but... I spent the night with... my boyfriend."
"..."
"You see, it's been almost ten years since I knew him, but I never got the guts to ask him out."
"..."
"I... I was brave enough to ask him out the other day. I never told you. I... I just..."
"Was it Yu Hariko?"
"Huh?"
"You always talked about him with me, didn't you?"

She forgot, but then she remembered.

"Oh, yeah. Right. It was him."
"If I remember correctly, based on what you told me about him, he is a good boy."
"Ehm, well."
"I want to hear it from his mouth. Wake him up."

Yu heard it and grabbed her hand that held the phone. He whispered, "Let me handle it now."

Yu put the phone call on speaker, so both he and Mei could hear what her mom was about to say.

"Hello, Mrs. Kartika. This is Yu Hariko speaking."

Yu and Mei heard a sigh. They had prepared for a lecture, but turned out...

"Oh, hi, Yu. Nice to finally talk with... Yu. Get it? Teehee"

Yu and Mei looked at each other in disbelief.

"I heard your breath. Why are you so tense? I'm not going to be mad. You two are teenagers after all. A youth full of blossoming romance."
"I... was just not expecting that, Mrs. Kartika."
"Oh, please. Just call me, Mom or Aunty."

Mei spoke, "MOOOM!" without hesitation.

Her mom laughed and said, "You two are so cute."

They talked for an hour. After that, they went back to sleep.

...

"Yu... Wake up."
"Honey... It's still 5. Let me sleep for a couple more minutes. It's holiday season anyway."

That was a dream.

*Plak*

A slap in the face. He woke up.

"What the what? Who slapped me just then?" Yu was surprised and screamed as he sat up.

"Why... What did you just call me?"

Yu realized he messed up. He forgot that Mei had a sleepover at his apartment.

"I... I... I..." he couldn't mutter a sentence. He was drenched in sweat. He couldn't look straight at her.

On the other hand, Mei was flabbergasted. She blushed and turned her face into a tomato. She covered her face with a pillow. She hugged that pillow hard.

After a chaotic morning, they both calmed down.

Yu started the conversation, "I'm sorry. You finally witnessed one of my bad habits, huh? I felt embarrassed."

Mei looked away. She got embarrassed as well, "Actually... I have that bad habit as well."

Yu looked at her with a straight face, "You're... lying. Right?"

"No... I just fell from your bed. I thought you were at the bottom of it. I'm glad you're on the couch."

Both were facing away in embarrassment.
Yu thought, "We... aren't that different after all, huh?"
While Mei thought, "Is... it because I've been longing for this feeling? I have never been like this."

Yu faced her again and then stared for seconds. Then he stood.

"I'll cook us breakfast. After that, I'll get you home."
"Huh? Oh, okay."
"You... don't have allergies that I don't know?"
"What?"
"Other than nut. Do you have any other allergies?"
"You know that I..."
"I embaremberessed to say it, but yeah. I mean, I've known you for ten years. So..."

Yu slowly walked toward his small kitchen. Mei stayed on. She didn't face Yu and answered, "No... I didn't have any other allergy."
"Okay then. Breakfast cooked in five minutes. Just treat this room like your home."
"Right. Thanks, Yu."
"You're welcome."

After those eventful mornings, Yu put the dish in the sink and got ready to escort Mei home. Mei was also getting ready. Yu was kind enough to give her his clothes. She was embarrassed, and he just giggled.

Then they departed using Yu's bicycle, and the ride took about two hours. Yu was exhausted, but importantly, they arrived safely. Mei introduced Yu to her mom and dad. They approved of their love.
