Chapter 19:

My Slime is AWESOME!!!

Chapter - 19

Now, Akash had returned to his village life once again. Every morning, he would sit by the lake and meditate. Then he would go with his father to cut firewood. As long as Akash’s holidays lasted, **Bron** never had to do anything.

Together with Angela, Akash would sometimes carve the wood and sometimes play the flute.
He was completely happy and wasn’t doing any training at all, but most of the time, thoughts about training kept running through his mind.

For the first 10 days, he thoroughly enjoyed himself. From the 11th day onward, he threw himself completely into practice. In the remaining 20 days, he had two tasks to accomplish—first, learn the **Lightspeed** skill, and second, level up **Neelu**.

In the mornings, he trained with Neelu together, and in the evenings, he trained alone.

First, let me properly explain how he trained Neelu.
Training monsters is a somewhat tricky task, and training a slime is even trickier.
Akash would take Neelu deep into the forest and make him fight other monsters. Because there was a dungeon in the forest, there was never any shortage of monsters.

Akash would first beat a monster to make it extremely weak, then let Neelu fight it. He didn’t particularly like this method, but it was the fastest way to level up a level-4 slime.

One day, what happened was that Akash injured a small level-10 goblin and told Neelu to fight it. Neelu only had one attack—**Acid Gun**. After two or three Acid Gun hits, the goblin died. Then Neelu went near its corpse and suddenly **devoured the entire thing**!!

Akash was stunned. Neelu had digested even the goblin’s bones. Akash couldn’t believe it. He immediately went to the city of **Kiza**. There, he bought every book available on slimes, and finally, in one book, he found the information he had been searching for.

In reality, Neelu was no ordinary slime. He was—**the Legendary Corpse-Devouring Slime**!!

(CDS — A type of slime that can eat any monster, human, or demon in corpse form and then become stronger by absorbing their power. Normally, slimes only eat grass or insects, but some slimes are different. Some can eat minerals, some plants, and some even corpses.)

Akash immediately remembered that he had found Neelu in a hidden room inside a boss room. There was no way **Hameel** didn’t know about such a slime. Yet he had still allowed it to stay near his egg. Was Neelu protecting that egg? Perhaps that was why **Zara** and Neelu had become such good friends so quickly.

Thinking about all this filled Akash with excitement. Unknowingly, he had made a **legendary slime** his familiar.

That same day, Akash took Neelu into the forest dungeon.
It was a **B-rank dungeon** with only 30 floors and relatively weak monsters, but it was the perfect place to test Neelu’s power. Akash kept killing monsters, and Neelu kept devouring their corpses.

Neelu’s devouring skill was incredibly powerful. He could swallow a corpse of any size, but it had two limitations—
First, the corpse couldn’t be more than about one hour old.
Second, Neelu couldn’t acquire the skills of the corpse, nor could he absorb all of its power—he could only absorb about half.

For example, if Neelu ate a level-20 giant snake, he would gain energy equivalent to roughly 10 levels from that snake, and nothing more.

None of this mattered to Akash because he had discovered a hidden strength of this devouring skill: Neelu could **store any non-living thing inside himself**!!

Just thinking about what all he could store inside Neelu made Akash more and more excited. For a moment, even Neelu got scared looking at Akash’s face.

In about 3 hours, Akash and Neelu cleared the entire dungeon. They even defeated the boss monster—a level-58 **Fire Wolf**. The dungeon itself was cleared in an hour; most of the time was spent on Neelu eating the corpses. When Neelu came out of the dungeon, his level had reached **64**, and he had become a **giant slime**. One of Neelu’s skills was that even after becoming a giant slime, he could still maintain his smaller form. Akash had truly hit the jackpot.

Now, let’s talk about learning the **Lightspeed** skill.
Akash had brought home the book ‘Lightspeed’ given by Sapna Ma’am. He had already read it completely 13 times, but he still wasn’t even close to learning the skill.

If one were to explain this skill, it would be something like this:

1 Mach ≈ 360 meters/sec

Stage 1
Mach - 1 (Speed of Sound)

Stage 2
Mach - 50

Stage 3
Mach - 100

Stage 4
Mach - 500

Stage 5
Mach - 1,000

Stage 6
Mach - 5,000

Stage 7
Mach - 10,000

Stage 8
Mach - 30,000

Stage 9
Mach - 60,000

Stage 10
Mach - 1,00,000 (Speed of Light)

Let me explain a few things first. Humans have divided skills into **stages**. Ordinary minor skills don’t have stages, but some special skills have been given stages. It starts from Stage One and ends at Stage Ten.

Stage Ten means the skill can no longer be upgraded further.

Now, about the stages of the **Lightspeed** skill.
This skill was invented thousands of years ago by a mage named **Alexander Gill Mach**. This same person had also discovered the speed of sound and the speed of light. That’s why the units are named after him.
Stage One is considered the speed of sound, and Stage Ten is the speed of light.
*(These stages are for this magic universe only.)*

While Alexander was researching and testing this skill, he mysteriously lost his life.
The biggest danger in this skill is that if the user’s mind and body cannot withstand the user’s own speed, it can even cause death.

That’s why Akash hadn’t tried it until now. He was first making his body even stronger and more durable.

When Akash finally began working fully on this skill, he remembered that Zavier had also shown extremely high speed against him. So, did that mean Zavier was also learning this skill? And if yes, then at what stage was he? Akash thought a lot and finally concluded that Zavier had almost reached **Stage Three**.

He started feeling even more jealous of Zavier. Was Zavier always going to be ahead of him no matter what Akash did?

Anyway, Akash continued his training. He kept running in the forest.

In this way, the 20 days of holidays ended, but Akash still hadn’t even come close to Stage One.
He kept thinking that if he could master **Mana Overflow**, perhaps something would work out. Whenever someone enters overflow, their power multiplies several times. Akash had only been able to match Zavier when he himself had gone into overflow.
But mana overflow can also take one’s life. That’s why Akash didn’t entertain this dangerous thought.
