Chapter 11:

Pandemonium

Crossover

A few years had passed since the infamous battle between the Resistance and two Gott armies that took place right outside of Gehenna’s border. Many Daemons may regard the absurd story as a mere rumor, but as for the Kings themselves, it was a different story.

The Immunditia Palatio (Latin for Impurity Palace), was the largest castle of Gehenna and the main headquarters of the Kings. It still stands greatly inside of Pandemonium’s territory, despite it was the very first building since the founding of their great country a few million years ago. So, it was the oldest, largest, and sturdiest structure in all of Gehenna. Inside the meeting room somewhere in the palace, all of Gehenna’s eight Kings were gathering on the large rectangle table.

The atmosphere between all of them was as dark as their room. Everything was so dark that barely their silhouettes were only seen for only a lighted candlestick that was placed in the middle of the table was their only light source. A howling wind blew strongly as the black metal frame of the large, closed windows clanged repeatedly that caused everybody’s attention to shift to it for a moment, but all were focused back on their serious meeting.

“Why should we be worried about that stupid invasion from many years ago? Those bastards from the Resistance resolved it by themselves, didn’t they? So, that problem should be cased closed by now”, a man stood up from his seat and slammed his fist on the table as he angrily voiced out his concerns. This man was the current head of the Mammon family and one of the senior members of the Seven Princes of Hell, the lowest-ranked position among the Kings.

“Mammon is right. It’s tiring taking care of the country as it is when the Gotts are constantly hot on our tails, why should we be focused on that previous battle now?”, a woman placed her right hand towards her mouth and yawn as she talked in a slowed pace. She was the current head of the Belphegor family and one of the senior members of the Seven Princes of Hell.

“That’s not the problem here. We’re here to figure out the Gotts’ ulterior motives and anticipate their next move to prevent them from invading any further. We have to protect our citizens from impending danger and if we can’t even do that, we’re all failures as the Kings of Gehenna”, a man elaborately explained while both of his hands gestured as he talked. He was the current head of the Lucifer family, one of the former members of Le Livre des Esperitz (French for The Book of Spirits), the former highest-ranked position among the Kings, and one of the four members of the Four Crowned Princes of Hell.

“Should we just kill the Gotts and be done with it? I don’t see why we’re making ourselves suffer more than we already have. We still have people to feed and a country to lead. We can’t afford to lose more of our manpower trying to make an effort to coexist at someone who is not willing to do so in the first place”, a woman placed her right hand forward and observed her colorful nails as she voiced out her thoughts in a straight face. This woman was the current head of the Asmodeus family, and another senior member of the Seven Princes of Hell.

“I agree to what Asmodeus said earlier, except for the fact that she was distracted with her own beauty again. We should increase our military prowess by providing a stricter training program for the Praesidiums, including the Platoon Inperators (Latin for Generals), Nauarchus (Latin for Captain), and Legatus (Latin for Lieutenant) so they could also improve themselves and ironically won’t be a burden instead. Besides that, we lack competent soldiers first of all so I suggest we declare conscriptions starting tomorrow, since I doubt this storm will allow us right now to do so”, a woman declared as she placed her right elbow on the table and rest her chin on the heel of her palm. This woman was the current head of the Leviathan family, and another member of the Four Crowned Princes of Hell, which was Gehenna’s highest-ranked position amongst the Kings currently.

“As usual, Levy’s sharp tongue is as harsh as ever. You really don’t back when it comes to being strict, huh? It’s like, you were the very epitome of strictness and stoicism. You should become the new member of Le Livre des Esperitz since you would fit right in, with all of the angry-looking brutes gathering there. No offense to you, Lucifer”, a man said as he placed both of his legs on top of the table while swinging his chair back and forth. He was the current head of the Belial family, and another member of the Four Crowned Princes of Hell.

“What did you just call me, you worthless piece of sh*t?! Don’t you ever call me by that nickname ever one more time or I’ll drown you to the depths of the ocean and I would make sure that you would never see the light of day again”, Leviathan declared in rage as she kicked the foot of Belial’s chair with her right foot and caused him to fell hard on the cold, hard floor together with his seat.

“What was that for, you smelly fish?! Do you want me to beat you to a pulp?!”, Belial angrily stood up and faced Leviathan.

“I would like to see you try. How about we settle this right here, right now?!”, Leviathan was about to bring the first punch.

"We were not holding this stupid meeting to talk about some useless and sh*tty argument! Did you retard already forgot the reason why we all gathered here in the first place?!", a man suddenly yelled intimidatingly in extreme fury as he stood from his seat, slammed the table with all his might by using both of his fists, and destroyed it completely into splinters while his huge red and hot aura melted all of the objects and furniture in the room at high speed. All of the members completely fell silent, and the intimidating aura started to calm down, preventing any further objects and furniture or even the whole room itself from melting. This hot-headed man was the current head of the Satan family, one of the three former members of Le Livre des Esperitz, and a current member of the Four Crowned Princes of Hell.

"Oh, yeah. I was wondering for a long time since we all gathered to this room about the absence of Beelzebub Philistine's successor in today's meeting. He has the responsibility to at least show up in every meeting since he is also already a member of the Kings of Gehenna, after all. Well, not yet officially, but you all get what I mean", Asmodeus awkwardly spoke up in a shaky voice as the silence filled up the whole room for already a couple of minutes.

"Well, about that specific issue... I actually didn't call Philistine for the upcoming meeting since I don't want him to feel so much pressure, especially when he just recently received the title at such a young age. It would be too cruel to burden him with such a huge responsibility that is bigger than himself, so I want to at least let him graduate as a teenager tomorrow and enjoy it as much as he can, especially when 'they' could no longer welcome him at his home with warm, open arms, and congratulate him for his achievements", Lucifer elaborately explained as he wore a solemn expression.

Now, let us proceed to the main story that took place in Pandemonium, the capital city of Gehenna.

A teenage girl and boy were talking on the streets as they walked side by side. The boy, who had blue eyes similar to the blue in flowing hydrangeas, pupils as yellow as dandelions dancing on a windy field, wore a jacket that of a color of blue cotton candy, an inner white shirt as white as clouds, and pants as black as ink spilt on paper white as a dove's feather, is Fuyu...

While the girl, who had hair as white and as smooth as silk, her eyes colored yellow as bright as the twinkling stars in the dark sky, her pupils and streak of hair as pink as Sakura petals gliding in the wind, wore a black and white frilly blouse with a ribbon, jumper dress the same color as her eyes, net stockings to cover her smooth legs, and a pair of pink rose colored heels, is Lucilia.

Lucilia excitedly said to Fuyu, "Your birthday is tomorrow, right? Yay, you can finally graduate from the academia and join the 46 Vermiculus Tantibus Praesidium (Latin for Crimson Nightmare Guards). We’ll be working together starting tomorrow."

Fuyu explained in a grumpy expression, "Did you forget that the 46 VTP is divided into four? Excluding the squads 43 to 46, which only the most deserving and strongest individuals are only allowed to join or be promoted to the Basilicus Gustos Platoon (Latin for Royal Guards), there are still three different platoons. You said you’re in squad 20, right? That belonged to the Umbra Platoon (Latin for Shadow)."

"I know that. So, what’s your point?", Lucilia replied with a straight face.

"That platoon specializes in ambush and assassination. There’s no way for a short-tempered guy like me to join that group", Fuyu sighed deeply as he continued to explain.

"That’s not what I meant, though. I just meant that we could finally be joining forces in order to be of help to Gehenna. That’s just the same as working together, despite having different squads. Besides, there are times when the squads with three different kinds of platoon would have a joint mission so...", Lucilia cheerfully said and raised her thumbs up with her right hand, "it’s still A ok."

Fuyu sighed deeply again, "I’m not that heroic. What’s the point of me arguing with you? Whatever the argument I hand to you, you’d always find a way to counter it." Right after that, someone swiftly drop kicked his back, he flew away as he hit a street light pole headfirst so hard and caused it to be destroyed.

It was another teenage boy who looked the same age as Natsu. He, who had hair as green as moss spreading from the cracks of an old stone wall, eyes as brown as tree bark accompanied with a newly risen sun, pupils as light as a green mochi munched by a cute child, wore a jacket with color as light as a lavender, bandages wrapped around both of his arms like a snake to a tree, and pants camouflaged like military soldiers hiding from their adversaries, is Hikaru.

Hikaru angrily yelled and stared at Fuyu with his eyes filled with bloodlust, "Get out of my way, snowflake! And while you’re at it, die already so you won’t corrupt…" His eyes suddenly turned into a pair of hearts, faced towards Lucilia and smiled, "Lucilia-chan…" He looked again towards Fuyu's direction with murderous intent and continued, "…with your smelly and useless existence."

Hikaru's moment was completely ruined when a sudden fireball hit Hikaru between the eyebrows and got knocked out instantly a few distance away from his position. Fuyu, who was standing in front of what used to be a streetlight, had his finger gestured into a gun and his index finger was smoking as he looked so irritated while steam came out from his head, “Shut the hell up. It’s still early in the morning, damn it!”

Lucilia awkwardly said, “Fuyu, calm down. Your head is steaming again.”

Fuyu, who was stomping the lying Hikaru’s stomach non-stop, stopped his right foot midway and declared in rage, “Stay down and never stand again!”

“Please stop it, Fuyu”, Lucilia attempted to pull Fuyu’s left arm and pull him away from Hikaru, but he didn’t budge a bit.

Hikaru moaned weakly that caused the both of them to stop what they were doing and focused their attention to Hikaru. Hikaru then said in a straight face as he intently stared into Lucilia's skirt, “This view is not bad at all.” Fuyu angrily stomped his face with his left foot really hard, but Hikaru's pain was not really well paid off as Lucilia was wearing shorts, obviously.

"Oh, yeah. Hikaru and Fuyu have the same birthday, right? It means that the two of you would graduate tomorrow together. Congratulations!", Lucilia congratulated the two boys with a smile as bright and as blinding as the sun.

"Yeah. T--Thanks", The two of them could only stood still as they awkwardly reply.
