Chapter 14:
The tsundere in my class secretly loves me!
The girl who stood at the doorframe shook from head to toe as she peeked around the door, her gaze fixed on Reina and Rin.
"Excuse me... is this the confession club?" The voice was dainty, almost as if she were trying to make a good first impression. The delicate voice hitched between breaths.
Rin raised her slender arm, prompting the fragile figure to step into the room. The girl pushed her comically large glasses against her face as Reina's and Rin's gaze narrowed. What was she here for? Reina's eyes filled with colour at the sight of her, almost as if they turned iridescent.
"You're a new member, or maybe you're a girl in love, or-"
"Reina, do not bombard our guest with questions, please." In an instant, her tone had switched, and the facade took over. As she said that, Reina turned her head before locking gazes with Rin, who was still sitting atop the table.
Her gaze sharpened at the edges as she walked toward her; the pressure in the room shifted. Reina leaned in, placing a hand by Rin's ear.
"You'd better not hide away, now, Rin. Not after that display you showed me."
Rin's brow furrowed at her remark.
Rin's tone was levelled to that of a mouse. Her fist clenched in tow.
"Since when were we on first name basis-"
In retaliation for that hostility, a half-hearted smile tugged at Reina's lips, almost as if she was expecting such a response. The daggers her gaze shot were staggering.
"You call me Reina, don't you? If anything, you're the weird one..."
Even though she wanted to push back, she couldn't. It was a fair argument even she couldn't argue with. So all she could do was sigh.
"..."

Now that the situation had settled, Rin focused her gaze on the figure that stood before her.
"Sorry about her. What did you say you were here for?"
The girl stood there as she pushed her fingers together before running her hand through her hair. that of which resembled the colour of a tangerine.
"uh...I-i'd like your help in con..fessing to a boy I like."
"..."
The two girls before her stood there, eyes widened. They met each other's gaze head-on.
Just then, a wry grin appeared.
"Oh, so you're here for a confession? The girls repeated in unison. This was their first 'customer', so they were bound to put on airs.
Their eyes had lit up, as a fire had awakened in them.
The fragile girl in front of them nodded before she clicked her tongue.
"Uhm, yes..." The girl's eyes widened as she scratched the back of her head. "How could I forget, m-my names Hajime Aoi. Nice to meet you."
The girl - or rather Aoi - gracefully took a knee. Reina gazed at Aoi as her head tilted slightly.
"Hajime-san? That librarian girl from the literature club?"
As Aoi attempted to prop herself back upright, the glasses she had desperately kept glued to her face... dropped.
"I-im sorry..." She didn't have to apologize. Not to these two anyway.
"Hey, it's fine, no need to be so formal, with us." Rin extended a hand out to Aoi.
"That's rich coming from you, Ms. Prestigous." As she said that, Reina cast her gaze somewhere else in the room.
Sensing that the conversation had started to drift, Rin clapped her hands together. Bringing the dead-end conversation to a new, open road.
"Ugh, why are those guys late at a time like this?"
"Those stupid pervs are probably getting chased by a bunch of heart-eyed girls right about now!"
"You watch too much Romcom anime..."

Heart pounding. Sweat dripping. Futoshi sprinted as fast as his popular guy legs could carry him.
"Cmon Haruto. We need to get back to talk about the c-culture fest." His voice hitched between breaths. Haruto, who was trailing behind, sighed.
"You're gonna keel over if you keep this up, Stupidshi.." Seeing as he stole Reina's lingo, Futoshi stopped before casting his gaze upward.
"Not you, too!"
At the entrance of the clubroom, the boys gripped the handle before swinging it open. By all accounts, they were late.
At the sight of them, Reina clenched her fists. Steam had even started leaking from her ears.
Yeah, so... we're dead. Futoshi covered his ears in preparation. He had known Reina enough to tell what was next. Haruto stood idly next to him.
"What took you so long?!"
The petite creature known as Reina had leaned in close, basically breath to breath with the two idiots standing in her gaze.
She pointed a finger at Haruto- unlucky for him, he had not been so lucky with preparations, so he got the brunt of the anger.
"Nakamura-kun, where were you? We had a club meeting, y'know?"
The fire in her eyes shone brighter than they ever did before. Why is she so on edge? Usually, anger like this only happens when-
Futoshi's gaze extended past Reina, looking at the unannounced figure that stood in the centre of the club room.
She had an unfamiliar aura about her- one Futoshi had never experienced before.
His tone softened.
"Hello, I'm Akutami Futoshi, pleasure to make your acquaintance." Who is this guy? Why have I started taking pages out of Haruto's book?
Aoi shook her head at Futoshi's Haruto-inspired gesture.
"Please, no need to be so formal, just treat me as you would anyone else."
Futoshi had taken a knightly knee, one that only Haruto was capable of; that's what she was referring to.
Futoshi propped himself upright before extending a hand.
"Nah, that was my bad. I guess I've just spent too much time around someone." As he said that, his gaze fixated on Haruto, who had sat at the table. Aoi extended a hand of her own before placing it in his.
"So, what are you here for? Are you a new member?"
"No, actually-"
"If you were here earlier, you would've known Idiot!"
Reina interjected as her sharp tongue attacked Futoshi,
"Reina, let our guest...no. let her speak." Rin attempted to put on the mask. She wanted to stay true to herself, so she decided against it...at least for now.
Finally having the room to speak, Aoi put her hands behind her back.
" I-I want you...to help me confess."
The room fell silent as Futoshi's eyes widened. Confess? Does that mean we can finally get on with our 'job'? It was a revelation. One he was quite happy to hear.
"So this is what you were so antsy about, Reina?" His voice had an edge of teasing to it. Knowing how she was, the answer was obvious.
"Oh, be quiet, Futoshi." Reina huffed. Her cheeks flushed.

"Anyway, summer vacation is coming up, so we can't do it-"
"You can always confess at my parents' beach villa if you want."
Rin? I guess that's one of the perks of being a rich girl.
