One of the memories I cherish the most is the day I jumped out of bed, full of excitement… hehe. And for good reason—I had just moved to a new city, and that very morning, a new chapter of my life was about to begin at a different school.
I remember standing in the shower, my mind racing. I kept wondering what my new classmates would be like, or if the teachers would be the strict kind who assign tons of homework every day.
While I was lost in all those thoughts, the idea of being in a relationship with a boy never even crossed my mind… I mean, it’s not like I’ll never have a boyfriend. Of course, someday I’ll meet someone I like. But for now, I just want to focus on my studies, like the good student I am… even if, thanks to my bad luck, I’m not doing so great.
Back then, I never imagined I would meet someone who would become so important to me.
Max.
He’s not perfect. Sometimes he can be a little arrogant… and in some situations, even a bit of a bad person. Maybe he’s not very empathetic either… but deep down, he cares about everyone, even if he refuses to admit it. That’s why he’s such a good friend.
Anyway, back to the story.
That day wasn’t rainy, but it wasn’t especially sunny either. It was one of those days where, every time you look up at the sky, you feel an unexplainable sense of calm. Before taking my first step, I took a deep breath. Something inside me told me that, from that moment on, a new stage of my life was beginning.
And luckily for me… it turned out to be the beginning of the best chapter of my life.
I know it’s not over yet, but I enjoy every single day with my friends. Even so, after every fun moment, that thought always sneaks in… the one reminding me that our school days will eventually come to an end, and we won’t see each other the way we used to.
Sometimes, I imagine a world where time stands still. A world where no one grows up. Where it’s just my friends and me, going to school forever, living new adventures every single day.
I know it’s a silly dream…
Because one day, we’ll become adults. We’ll have jobs, responsibilities, partners, children… and we won’t have the time to be together like before.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
As I took my first step, I felt a warm breeze. I decided to take that moment as the beginning of my new life.
After walking just a few meters, a group of girls approached me.
—H... hello, are you new?
—You’re so pretty! Do you want to hang out with us?
—What’s your name? Come with us!
That moment was so embarrassing. Everyone was watching us… but at the same time, I felt excited. I was making my first friends.
As I walked with them, several boys and girls kept staring at us. My new friends wouldn’t stop asking questions—whether I had a boyfriend, what makeup I used… Every time I tried to answer one, they would ask another, and I ended up completely confused, not knowing what to say.
That’s when I remembered I had to call my parents to let them know I had arrived safely at school, so I stepped away for a moment.
While I was looking for their contact on my phone, some boys came over to say hello and ask what class I was in. I blushed immediately. I had never talked to boys without my friends nearby.
That’s when, out of curiosity, I looked to my right.
And I saw him. A boy… a peculiar one.
He looked so happy. He was holding something in his hands and couldn’t stop staring at it with a smile. I don’t know why, but I couldn’t look away from him.
He wasn’t particularly handsome, but he wasn’t ugly either. There was nothing that made him stand out. He was… just another student. And yet, I couldn’t stop watching him.
Everything seemed to be going well for him… until he took out his phone for a moment.
He didn’t notice that, right in front of him, some muscular guys were running toward him—probably from the track and field club.
I got a little scared, because if they crashed into him… they were going to crush him.
I closed my eyes for a second.
But when I opened them, something unexpected happened.
The boy… had tripped all by himself.
I couldn’t help but laugh a little, although I also felt sorry for him. Everyone around him started staring, and some even laughed.
Then I saw his face, and that’s when I noticed…
Shame. Fear. Sadness. And the overwhelming urge to disappear.
When he tried to get back up, a white liquid fell right onto his head (I don’t know what it was—maybe paint). Everyone started making fun of him, and as I watched him, I saw it again on his face: shame, fear, sadness… and that same urge to disappear.
All of those emotions, all at once.
The boy stood up, grabbed his backpack, and walked away with his head down.
Without thinking, I walked toward where he had been… but he was already gone. That’s when I noticed something on the ground…
A Pokémon pencil.
In that moment, I understood. The reason he had been smiling… it was that pencil. I picked it up carefully.
And I set a goal for myself… to return it.
—The End—........
Max: That’s it?
V: Well… yeah.
Max: That’s way too short! Write more.
V: But I don’t know what else to talk about… Besides, why do you want me to add more? Did you actually like my first day of school?
Max: Don’t be ridiculous. This chapter is way too short. Add more!
V: Then you do it, “funny guy.” I’m mentally exhausted.
Max: But the chapter’s called “VIOLETA,” not “Max.”
V: Fine… fine. Then tell me—what kind of story do you want me to write?
Max: How about a biography about yourself? Stretch out every single detail so it’s longer—we’re supposed to be a serious novel.
V: (Idiot.)

M: You don't even believe that yourself.
V: Hey, shut up! Do you want me to write this or not?
M: Then at least write it better.
V: Fine.
V: It all started one day when my parents decided to have…
M: No, no. Not that.
V: Why? It's part of my childhood.
M: Because nobody wants to know that your parents were perverts.
V: What?!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
— CHILDHOOD: Unfortunately, the Final Version
I don’t remember my childhood in great detail… but I know it was one of the happiest stages of my life.
I remember that when my parents told me I had to go to school, I kept refusing the idea… until the day finally came.
While my mom was getting me dressed, she asked me why I didn’t want to go.
And I answered her, innocently, that I didn’t want to leave them alone. When I said those words, something inside me broke down—I felt like crying, even though no tears came out. My parents laughed at what I had said.
They told me I was already a big, strong girl… and that sooner or later, I would have my own life and, unfortunately, grow apart from them… but they gave me an important saying:
“No matter where you are, or who you’re with, or if you’re going through a hard time… remember that you’re never alone. Your parents will always be with you.”
Back then, those words didn’t matter to me. But now that I’m far away from them, those same words have helped me through difficult moments.
When I was little, I barely understood anything about life.I didn’t know what money was for, why I had to go to school… much less what it meant to be in a relationship with a boy.
I remember confusing those feelings with family bonds, because I had been told that a relationship meant caring deeply about someone. They even used the relationship between my parents and me as an example. But obviously… now that I’ve grown up, I understand those things better. I’m not that naive anymore.
I still remember that moment. I was standing in front of the school gate, with my parents looking at me and encouraging me to go in.
I didn’t want to… but when I saw their smiles, I decided to move forward.
“If they’re happy… then this ‘school’ thing can’t be that bad,” I told myself.
Relación::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
In my life, I've met a lot of guys. Some wanted to be my boyfriend, but I always cruelly rejected them.
I was a very cold girl… and since I was so pretty, I thought I was the best.
Maybe a lot of girls hated me for my beauty… hehe.
A lot of people thought I was cruel and incapable of falling in love.
And well… I believed it too.
Until I saw him.
Max.
He was such a special guy… anyone who says he's just a normal guy is completely wrong.
He was handsome… perfect… exactly my ideal type.
When other girls approached him because of how perfect and handsome he was… I felt jealous.
And from the moment I saw him… I decided to become his friend.
Just to be closer to him…and to…
.....
V: Hey, I'll leave you alone for just a minute, and you write this?
M: W-well… we need a little romance, don't we?
V: But why are you making me sound so arrogant?
V: Besides, I don't want to be with you, Max. What the hell were you dreaming about?
M: Nothing.
V: Do you like me or something?
M: Haha, I don't know what you're talking about. I'm 100% professional.
V: Yeah, yeah, sure… so why are you writing a story that never happened?
V: Why me?
M: Hey, don't complain. I've had to cancel other people's books; out of 100 pages, only three were interesting.
V: Then you're obligated to name me your editor when you write your book.
M: I already wrote my book, silly.
V: Then give it to me. I want to read it.
M: Never. I won't publish it… and you won't read it either… hehe.
V: Why?
M: If people at school read it, my reputation would be ruined forever.
V: But anyway, nobody respects you at school…
M: …
M: And that's the end of the chapter.

= {Editor’s Note} =
This chapter was edited by me (Max).
The original version was… way too boring.
I cut out parts where Violeta explained every single thing she did throughout her day.
They were so detailed that even I got bored.
I also removed a section where she made a list of all her friends and said wonderful things about them… except me.
I corrected the spelling mistakes.(Violeta, if you’re reading this, learn how to write.)
I also removed several insults.
We hope you enjoyed this chapter.
We know it’s not the best…
(because it’s not mine).
But it is what it is.
Goodbye.
