Chapter 1:
The Two
"Who decides what is right and wrong? I have never heard of a so called hero."
*flashback*
when quin was once a young child, blooming with the essence of life and exploration for the world. Tragedy struck, both parents killed instantaneously, not by some villain, but by those who governed his country, the sight of what those in power could do to normal people shocked a young nine-year-old. He who knew nothing of the world did not understand as to why they would do something so cruel, to him it was not the fact that they committed a sin of which he could not forgive that shook him, it was the fact that they forced him to watch as it happened. Seated in a white room, one chair directly in the middle of a wall, and in front, two military personnel, and to the right side of the wall a mirror. Quin was tied and forced to watch as they executed his parents, he did not know what crime they committed for him, and his parents to deserve such cruelty. "He will soon learn as to why the system had failed him, for it was not his fault, but those in control of it." a man said watching from the two-sided mirror. They who saw everything, they who heard everything, he could not escape for THEY KNEW. how could they not know? For it was a world where everything was supervised. Nothing like what people hoped the future would be like.
" FREEDOM IS SLAVERY!!!" the two military personnel shouted as the act of murder was committed in front a child.
"This shall be your first lesson, child, never forget this moment; child of traitors."
Quin as helpless and weak as he was could not do anything to those whom he held grudges toward, the only thing he could do is... but watch. Anger arose from him suddenly, as he could do nothing but that, he so fiercely tried to set himself free, his face so red that his veins could be seen popping, screeches that you could hear a mile away, anger so ferocious that one would mistake him for a bear. Yet he could do nothing, his seat not even moving an inch, he could not escape from the horrors of what this life had set on him, and to add pain to the wound, slow laughter arose from the military personnel, their grins so wide, it could be called the definition if evil, *chuckle* "HA" "HAHAHAHAHA" derisive laughter ensued from the military personnel, so mockingly that all quin could say is,
" I'LL KILL YOU!!!",
" I'LL KILL YOU!!", " GRRAAHHI'LL MAKE SURE YOU ROT IN HELL!!!",
"I'LL KILL YOU ALL!"
"I'LL KILL YOUUU!!!!"
Over and over again, ensuing lunacy over him, yet they still laughed, they were lunatics, nothing stopping them, the derisive laughter continued, nonetheless. *Flashback over*
"BEEP,BEEP,BEEP... BEEP,BEEP,BEEP." The alarm sounded, it was now officially time for quin to wake up, annoyed he lifts his hand from his pillow, and then "BANG" their goes his alarm clock now broken lying on the table yet it still manages to make a deteriorating "BEEP" sound
"BEEp.. BEep.. Be-...". This is how his morning usually goes, so routine for him to break an alarm every morning, it's his duty to wake up in time, exactly at 7A.M, of course this is also everyone's duty to wake up at seven. Groaning now, quin gets up from his bed, and goes into his bathroom to shower, the kitchen in his technologically advanced home, already preparing a coffee for him to drink once he gets out, the hot coffee steaming, then the coffee machine starts blowing cold air to cool the coffee, " It's is now 7:25 A.M". a robotic voice repeats twice, from his bathrooms Bluetooth speaker, interrupting the jazz music quin likes playing " you are running late" it repeats twice again. "Shut up clanker" quin says to the robotic voice " I cannot do that." The robotic voice replies.
"You are running late; disciplinary action or rights may be taken if you do not arrive to PLANT SITE B in time." everything was supervised, how much food you ate, how many items you bought at the grocery store, how long you exercised for at the gym, everything came with a price whether it be giving birth, or living for one more day, there was nothing the government couldn't see, everyone was forced to live by this, and everybody was forced to work at a plant site, either it be mining for precious minerals, managing a small group of workers, or run tests for the government. "Manipulation at its finest, everybody's so brainwashed, they trust the government, yet regulations are set to stop you from realizing you are living in modern hell, they set boundaries and put you in jail if you try to protest them, this world is crazy, ha."
"Chris Maganor said that in his speech once when he was running for election in lykalide, the next day after that, he wasn't normal, somebody said he found him, that the day after he was found dead in a dumpster, and that they replaced him crazy sons of a bitches". Quin said in his head now sixteen-years-old, frustrated that he couldn't say it aloud due to the fact that they were always listening, he was scared that he would become Chris Maganor if he did. Quin actually knew the truth, Chris maganor was dead, and he was part of an underground society named the claws. quin was also a part of this society, the most secret society that has ever existed due to the existence of the government and those who were in control of it, but how? in a society that's always being supervised how did they manage to create this group, theirs really only one simple answer, routine checks, every 4 months electrical staff from the government come and check cameras and audios from every single house and apartment, during that time people have to gather around the solite square.
The checks last only for about an hour, they use small flying robotic drones with laser scanners, advanced Artificial intelligence to check for any abnormalities' in the coding of homes, and to minimize potential protests and problems caused by people who are more conscious and not completely brainwashed, it's difficult to fake being brainwashed, but not impossible, quin is one of those people and he knows this. quin gets out of his shower and dries himself as he thinks of all the absurdity in the world, and that it's difficult to overthrow a government like this, not just difficult impossible for most, but their lies some hope inside of him, that it is possible, he finally changes, puts on his underwear, pants, and shirt, his coffee now ready, still kind of hot so that the creamer that he adds mixes well into the coffee, he always makes sure that his coffee has an almost yellow color, but more brown rather than anything, he takes a sip and checks the time, he's going to be late, he puts his coffee down on the kitchen counter, and he runs off leaving his hot coffee, and the air coming out of it on the kitchen counter, his white and black home being left unattended, and his coffee, the first time it's been left unfinished.
