Let's Watch Some More Episodes

„It’s never gonna happen…”, David said with a sigh.

“How do you know that?”, Maria asked.

“Because it never happened before… why would it now?”

“Things can change…”, Jonas interjected.

“That’s right! Maybe you’ll find one real soon!”, Maria added enthusiastically.

“Yeah right… I just randomly bump into a woman, who falls in love with me… That stuff just happens in stories… “, David remarked.

“I bumped into this guy and fell in love with him and now we are getting married in a few months!... Even if it took him years to finally propose…”

Maria gave Jonas a playful poke in the cheek.

“I don’t get you… Why would you even want all that love and relationship stuff? It’s just exhausting work… All these responsibilities and expectations…”, Leon interjected and took a sip of his beer.

“If you find the right person, the work is definitely worth it.”, Maria said and smiled at Jonas.

“And if you love it, can you really call it work?”, he replied and smiled back.

“I think I’m gonna throw up! Stop being so disgustingly in love with each other! It makes me sick!”, Leon said with a over the top disgusted face.

“Oh, we can be even more disgustingly in love…”, Marie said with a smirk and gave Jonas a kiss.

“Eww… Get a room you two!”, Leon exclaimed and faked throwing up.

“This is our room! In fact, this is our apartment!”, Jonas countered.

“That’s… true… you got a point.”

All four began to laugh. David, Leon and Jonas were close friends since their school days. Maria was Jona’s girlfriend. They had met each other during their first year at university and ever since she was part of this tight knit group that got together nearly every weekend to watch some movies or anime series.

“But back on topic… You complain that it never happened, but then why don’t you at least try to make something happen?”, Maria asked and looked at David.

“Because it’s pointless… even if I try…”, David replied.

“So, you’re giving up… without even trying?”

“I…”, David face twitched while answering slowly, “did try…once”

Jonas and Leon gave each other a quick look.

“So, why not try again?”, Maria inquired.

“It’s not that easy… and even if I wanted to… I would have to first get to know a woman…”, David replied.

“Well, that can be easily done… You just need to go out and talk to a woman.”

“And where should I do such a thing? You know me… I don’t really go out anymore… and… I can’t just go up and talk to woman…”

“Isn’t this book convention coming up, you planned to participate? I bet there are at least some girls at the venue… why not start there?”

Leon facial expression suddenly changed and he looked very guilty.

“Yeah right… The only one who will get a hook up will be Leon, like he always does… and even if by a miracle I get to know someone… it will not change anything… I may get a nice conversation, but that will be all… Women apparently don’t see me in… that way…”, David continued to lament.

“Don’t always be so pessimistic!”, Jonas remarked.

“Yeah! Be optimistic! I have good news for you… I can’t go to the convention with you, so I can’t snatch up all the women.”, Leon interjected with a forced and nervous smile.

“Huh? But you said you would come with me on that day?”, David asked confused.

“I know, I know… but hear me out… I recently got to know this Beauty, and she invited me on that weekend and I couldn’t refuse her…”

“Why not? Didn’t you guys have your ‘Bro-Code’?”, Maria asked raising an accusatory eyebrow.

“Yeah, but…”

“But what? Breaking a promise to our bro because of some chick? It’s clearly a violation of section six paragraph nine, the ‘Bro-Before-Hoe-Agreement’, dude!”, Jonas remarked and crossed his arms.

“It’s not because of A woman…”, Leon defended himself.

“What then?”, David questioned with a doubtful look.

“Three…”

“Three… what?”, Maria asked confused.

“Women… I got invited along two of her… close… friends to spend a weekend with them together at her… private mountain lodge…”

David, Jonas and Maria looked stunned at the slightly grinning Leon.

“So yeah… I’ll be busy on that weekend… sorry”, he apologized.

“Damn… that’s… yeah…”, David stuttered at a loss for words.

“Understandable…”, Jonas finished.

“Oi!”, Maria gave him a stern look,” What happened to ‘Bro before Hoe’?”

“Well, it is stated in the section that under special circumstances an exception can be granted”, David muttered.

“And I got some special beer!”, Leon remarked and grabbed a six-pack out of his backpack.

David and Jonas looked at each other and grinned.

“Brother Leon…” They said with a ceremonial voice and grabbed a beer,” You are hereby cleansed of all charges of brotherly misconduct that had been brought in front of the Tribronal!”

Leon bowed in a ceremonial manner.

“Is your ‘Bro-Code’ really that weak, boys?”, Maria asked amused.

“The bro-tax has been paid, and the Bro-Code adhered.”, David explained.

“It’s more of a guideline anyways…”, Jonas remarked with a shrug.

“Boys…”, Maria said while shaking her head. Then all four of them burst into laughter.

“Well, let’s move on from that and watch some more episodes!”, David suggested after they calmed down.

Everybody agreed and they continued to watch anime late into the night.
