Chapter 49:

Afterword [Volume End]

En Passant Grandmaster Volume 6

Hello, and thank you all for reading through this sixth volume of EPGM. This is probably one of the volumes I've been most looking forward to writing due to the content it covers. The first phase of the Chess Olympics arc has some great matches both in the tournament and in the downtime between rounds.

With this volume, I felt the 3rd round was the perfect endpoint for it as the Diederich-Okisato match was a great climax. This is why I decided to open the volume with a Diederich match, both to hype him up as a villain, and give everyone a taste of just how delusional he can be. His games were easily some of the funnest ones to write for me due to how creative I could get with them.

Now while round 3 has ended for our protagonists, the round itself isn't over just yet. As such, I might plan to try showcasing an opponent or two one of the teams will end up facing in a later round at the start of the next volume. Speaking of which, I plan to introduce some notable revisions to the next volume in regards to how it compares to the original. Given what we already know about the team lineups here, I'm sure you can theorize as to what some of those could be. thank you all for reading Volume 6. I hope you're all looking forward to Volume 7.
