Chapter 33:

The Eye-Catching Creature Hunter

The Creature Hunter: Soul Of The Wind

Orano and Caitrin were following the creature as fast as they could. They ran through many streets and jumped a few obstacles on the way.

Then Caitrin said to herself while gasping for air,

*They are so fast. I can't catch up with them. Why did a creature come across us at a time like this anyway? Also, how did it get here?*

And while the creature was getting slower, Orano gripped his sword and said to himself,

*If I make the wrong move, it can start running again. I have to wait for the right time and attack.*

And after running for a couple of seconds, he stepped his foot on the ground and was about to jump. But at that very moment, they saw a flash of purple lightning go through their eyes, and the creature groaned in pain once more.

After it groaned, the purple lightning occurred ten more times, and the creature finally fell to the ground. But the interesting thing was, the creature had a lot of cut marks on its body. It was like someone attacked it.

And when they finally stopped and Caitrin caught up to Orano,

She said,

"I finally caught you."

She then added,

"I saw a light back there, and the creature just collapsed on the ground. What was that about?"

But when Orano was about to answer her question, a person appeared on top of the creature.

She was sitting there, with her sword on her shoulder.

She said,

"So you came all the way here to hunt creatures huh? Rookie?"

It was Nijimura Rai. She was grinning and looking at them.

As she saw her, Caitrin said to herself with a surprised expression,

*Her again?*

Then Orano looked at her and said with a serious expression,

"What are you doing here? And why is the creature running around like this?"

"Aah, I just came here to warm up and hunt creatures. But one of the merchant's creatures escaped and began to attack around. Of course, since I was the closest person to the job, I immediately started tracking this creature. It's a good thing that it's got a good reward on its head, but I have to say, it put me through a lot while I came here."

Then she looked at Orano with a sarcastic look and said while grinning,

"Maybe if you'd acted a little faster, the creature could have been yours. But unfortunately, I'm today's winner."

Orano then looked at the creature, then again at her and said,

"The creature and the reward can be yours. For the moment I don't need it. But I'd appreciate it if you'd let me take one of the creature's horns. They're extremely useful in healing."

Rai looked at him surprised. It looked like she didn't expect those words from him.

So she said with a questioning voice tone,

"You've chased this creature all the way and you just want the horns?"

She then sighed and added,

"So be it. You can have the horns. I don't need them anyway."

She then stood up, put both her swords in her belt, and said her final words,

"Now that I've cut the creature, it's time to get paid. Good luck on your journey, but I must warn you, there may be more dangerous things ahead of you than creatures."

She then looked away and disappeared turning into lighting.

Caitrin looked at her amazed as she left and said to herself with a confused expression,

*Did she chase the creature all the way here? It looks like she's really trying to keep her prey from escaping. And I never thought she'd show up here.*

Then she turned to Orano and said,

"Don't you think it's interesting that we met her here? After all, it hasn't been long since we left the creature hunter ceremony."

While Caitrin was talking, Orano tried to look at something that was standing up somewhere and said,

"I didn't expect to meet her here either. But the interesting thing is that she led us here."

"What do you mean?" Caitrin asked confused.

Orano pointed at somewhere high and said,

"Look over there."

As soon as Caitrin turned around, she understood what Orano meant. The clock tower was directly opposite them, and what they saw was the same as the clock tower that they saw on the Rift.

"But this was easier than I thought." Caitrin said with a surprised and sarcastic voice tone.

They finally found their target location, so they quickly climbed the tower and reached the top.

And by the time they got to the top, the city looked clearer and more beautiful from there. And Caitrin was once again was impressed by the city because of its landscape. But on the other hand, Orano looked at the Rift and thoroughly examined it, not even looking at the landscape once.

And what confused Caitrin was that, as she turned around to look at him, she saw the Rift too once again.

She said to herself with a confused expression,

*I wonder where the Rift shows this time. And why am I seeing it again anyway? Tatsumi said it had to be a spell that didn't appear too much to people. Even though I found where I could sell the necklace, it shows me somewhere else like its trying to say something.*

After they looked at the Rift for a couple of seconds, Orano said,

"So it is Vurudora. That means we have to find a ship to travel."

Then he turned to the exit and said,

"Come on Caitrin, we are going."

Later, when they went down again, Caitrin asked curiously,

"I saw a very different place this time. It had a huge castle near the sea, and nearby there was a place similar to an Arena. But I don't understand, why did it show me a place again? And besides, where did you see?"

"We both saw the same place. I saw a city in Vurudora too. And if you have seen its castle and its Arena, then we have seen its most famous city, "Reues"

"Again? This is the second time this is happening. At first, it showed us both somewhere else. But now why does it keep showing us the same places?"

"Unfortunately, I have no information regarding that. Considering what we've been through, the working principle of the Rift is quite complex. I can't give you an answer that I'm sure of right now, but if we continue to investigate further, there's a chance we'll find out why."

He then looked around and said,

"But before we went any further, you were talking about an auction to sell your necklace, right? It would be better for us to ask around first, then act according to that."

After he said that, Caitrin slightly hit her head and said with a nervous and surprised expression,

"Oh! You are right! How could I forgot that?"
