Chapter 2:

Chapter 2: The Game Centre Showdown

I Have Terrible Social Anxiety, But the School Thinks I’m a Yakuza Boss, and the Disciplinary President is Trying to "Tame" Me Through Marriage!

The final bell of the school day rings, its sharp tone cutting through the suffocating tension that heavily lingers within the quiet confines of Class 2-B. Ryuu Kuroda packs his worn canvas bag with frantic, trembling haste. He desperately wants nothing more than to retreat to the safe, isolated sanctuary of his bedroom, where he can play his beloved digital games in absolute, undisturbed peace.

"Kuroda", a voice calls out from the doorway.

Ryuu freezes completely, his spine turning rigid as ice. Reina Arisugawa stands proudly at the sliding door, her posture immaculate and her expression radiating an overwhelming aura of absolute authority. She effectively blocks his only physical avenue of escape.

"We patrol your territory today", she declares.

Ryuu trembles beneath his dark school uniform. Territory? He has no territory, unless she counts the messy wooden desk in his room or his digital farming plots in a casual simulator game. He only ever goes to the local arcade to unwind. Yet, he is far too paralyzed by his crippling social anxiety to utter a single word of protest or correction.

They walk together down the sprawling, sunlit corridors of the massive school building. The surrounding students immediately press their bodies flat against the metal lockers and plaster walls. They fear the terrifying new power couple that stalks the halls, whispering frantic rumors about underworld alliances and hostile takeovers. Ryuu keeps his eyes locked firmly on the polished linoleum floor, praying to any deity that will listen for a sudden, painless disappearance.

They arrive at the noisy, dimly lit arcade located just a few blocks from the main school gates. Neon lights flash in vibrant, erratic patterns across the darkened room, casting long, menacing shadows across the carpet. A heavy cacophony of electronic beeps, loud simulated explosions, and fast-paced synthetic music fills the stale air.

Ryuu heads straight for the massive, brightly illuminated dance rhythm machine situated in the deepest corner of the arcade floor. He puts a shiny coin into the slot with a sweaty, trembling hand. He desperately needs to escape this terrifying reality and lose himself in the familiar, comforting world of flashing digital arrows and dropping musical beats.

He pulls his dark, oversized hoodie down low over his face, effectively hiding his glowing, intimidating eyes from the rest of the world. He selects the absolute highest difficulty setting for his favorite, extremely fast-paced electronic track.

Just as the bright red countdown begins on the screen, three local street thugs approach the machine. They look incredibly tough, wearing torn denim jackets and sporting aggressive, arrogant sneers. They immediately notice Reina standing nearby, her flawless beauty starkly contrasting with the grimy, neglected arcade environment.

"Hey sweetheart", the leader sneers. "Why hang out with this pathetic loser?"

Reina stands tall and unflinching. She glares at them with eyes as cold as a frozen winter lake. "You interrupt official business".

Before the thugs can respond, the music bursts from the machine's massive speakers. A heavy, aggressive bass beat drops, vibrating the very floorboards beneath their boots.

Ryuu hears absolutely nothing but the overwhelming rhythm of the loud music. His intense social anxiety vanishes entirely, replaced by the sheer, unadulterated focus required to survive the brutal chart of the rhythm game.

He thrashes wildly across the metallic dance pad. He stomps the glowing arrows with violent, terrifying speed and desperate precision. Left. Right. Up. Down. He hits every single consecutive combo flawlessly, his legs moving in a blur of chaotic motion. Because he concentrates so intensely, his facial scar stretches tight, and his face twists into a horrifying, murder-hungry grimace. Sweat drips heavily from his chin, flying through the air with every aggressive pivot and sudden turn.

The thugs stop their advance entirely. They watch his lightning-fast, seemingly violent feet with growing horror and disbelief.

"Look at those heavy stomps", a thug whispers.

"He crushes imaginary skulls", another thug pales.

Ryuu finishes the exhausting song with one final, earth-shattering stomp on the center pad. The massive screen flashes a brilliant, blinding "PERFECT" sign across the display. He breathes heavily, his chest heaving up and down as he tries to catch his breath. He turns around slowly to grab his plastic water bottle. His glowing, dead, exhausted eyes lock directly onto the terrified thugs by pure, unfortunate accident.

"Do you mind?" Ryuu rasps. His throat is incredibly dry from dancing and breathing heavily through his mouth.

The gang leader drops his lit cigarette onto the carpeted floor. "S-sorry, Boss!"

The three tough thugs bow deeply, their heads nearly touching the dusty ground. They run away in a state of pure, unadulterated terror, tripping over each other in their desperate haste to escape the arcade alive.

Ryuu blinks in utter confusion. He wipes his sweaty forehead with the back of his trembling hand. He just wants to drink his water and play the second stage of the song.

Reina pulls a small, leather-bound notebook from her pristine uniform pocket. She writes furiously, nodding her head in deep, profound approval at the scene she just witnessed.

"A flawless display of lethal, unpredictable footwork", she says. "You crush insubordination instantly without ever needing to lay a hand on them directly".

Ryuu stares at her blankly. He tightly holds his plastic water bottle against his chest. He has absolutely no idea what she means, but he is far too frightened of her intense gaze to ask for a simple clarification.
