Chapter 15:
I Have Terrible Social Anxiety, But the School Thinks I’m a Yakuza Boss, and the Disciplinary President is Trying to "Tame" Me Through Marriage!
The heavy, suffocating silence of Class 2-B is suddenly broken by the nervous, shuffling footsteps of three heavily bruised, deeply terrified delinquents. They belong to the notorious Black Scorpion gang, a violent faction from the neighboring vocational school. Today, they do not carry rusted metal pipes or heavy chains. Instead, their violently trembling hands tightly clutch premium convenience store snacks and pristine, newly released volumes of popular fantasy manga.
Ryuu Kuroda sits rigidly at his wooden desk, his dark eyes staring blankly at the blackboard. His crippling social anxiety instantly flares into a blinding, overwhelming panic as the three intimidating thugs aggressively surround his small, fragile workspace. His prominent facial scar stretches incredibly tightly across his pale cheek. His brow furrows deeply into a dark, highly lethal grimace, activating his terrifying "Resting Murder Face" at maximum, absolute capacity. He breathes heavily through his teeth, emitting a low, raspy, demonic growl. He desperately prepares for a violent, bloody beating.
"P-please accept our humble tribute, Boss Kuroda", the Black Scorpion leader stammers loudly, violently bowing his shaved head until it nearly smashes into the wooden desk.
The terrified gang leader rapidly slides a stack of glossy manga volumes and a large, colorful bag of limited-edition spicy potato chips directly toward Ryuu.
Ryuu freezes completely. His panicked brain entirely short-circuits. He looks down at the wooden desk. He does not see a mafia tribute or a desperate plea for physical mercy. He clearly sees the exact limited-edition fantasy manga volume he failed to purchase yesterday because the bookstore queue is far too terrifying for his fragile nerves.
A wave of pure, unadulterated otaku joy washes heavily over his violently overstimulated mind. He assumes these intimidating, heavily tattooed men are actually deeply passionate, misunderstood nerds desperately attempting to initiate a friendly, harmless school manga-sharing club.
Ryuu slowly reaches out with a cold, pale hand. He gently traces the glossy cover of the comic book.
"You bring this for me?", Ryuu asks softly. His throat is incredibly dry from sheer panic, causing his voice to sound exactly like a deep, raspy, menacing threat.
"Y-yes!", the delinquents scream in perfect, terrified unison, their knees violently shaking in their loose uniform pants. "We offer our absolute submission! Please do not crush our territory!".
Ryuu completely ignores their incomprehensible, chaotic yelling. He is far too focused on preserving the pristine condition of the borrowed reading materials. To ensure he safely returns the exact manga volumes to the correct club members, he carefully opens his silver laptop.
He boots up a highly complex, meticulously organized digital spreadsheet program. His cold, sweating fingers fly across the plastic keyboard with terrifying, mechanical precision. He actively logs the exact title of the manga, the specific volume number, the expiration date of the spicy potato chips, and the name of the gang leader into neatly aligned, color-coded digital columns.
To the terrified Black Scorpion gang, this mundane administrative task paints a horrifying, blood-chilling picture. They do not see a responsible club member organizing a borrowed book list. They clearly see a ruthless, cold-blooded underworld accountant meticulously recording their official, mandatory extortion tax into a highly secure, encrypted criminal ledger.
"Look at how fast he calculates the interest rates", a thug whispers in pure, visceral horror.
"He documents our permanent debt to the syndicate", another delinquent pales, violently swallowing the dry lump in his throat. "If we miss a single monthly payment, he will use that digital ledger to completely erase our entire existence".
Ryuu finishes typing the data. He looks up at the trembling men and gives a stiff, awkward nod of polite acknowledgment.
"I will return it when I finish", Ryuu rasps heavily, genuinely intending to return the borrowed book by next Tuesday.
The gang leader nearly faints from sheer, unadulterated terror. He completely misinterprets the innocent statement as a dark, highly violent promise to return to their territory to collect the next heavy installment of protection money.
"Take all the time you need, Supreme Boss!", the leader cries out, violently bowing one final time before frantically sprinting out of the classroom with his terrified subordinates.
Ryuu blinks his glowing, exhausted eyes in utter confusion. He reaches into the colorful bag and slowly eats a spicy potato chip. He finds his new manga club members to be incredibly loud and highly dramatic, but he deeply appreciates their excellent taste in fantasy literature.
From the shadows of the hallway, Reina Arisugawa writes furiously in her thick leather notebook. Her sharp, intelligent eyes glow with profound, overwhelming pride.
"He effortlessly establishes a highly lucrative, regional protection racket without shedding a single drop of blood", Reina notes, a deep red blush rapidly coloring her flawless cheeks. He utilizes advanced, digital financial accounting to maintain absolute, terrifying economic control over the rival factions. The Kuroda Syndicate's treasury grows exponentially under his brilliant, flawless leadership.
