Chapter 1:
STATIC GREY
Chapter 1: Blueprints of the Past
The sky was a screen of digital noise. Kael, a scavenger in the ruins of a
server farm, brushed a century of dust off a heavy cylinder. Inside, he found
a physical blueprint. Unlike the weightless tablets of the Barons, this was
paper. It felt heavy. It felt real. As a Glitch-Hunter drone's purple light swept
the room, Kael ducked into the shadows, clutching the first piece of a world
that couldn't be hacked.
Chapter 2: The Old World's Bones
Kael met Masa in the Iron Scrapyard. The old man looked at the blueprints
with eyes that had seen the transition from metal to light. 'They own the
code,' Masa whispered, 'but they don't own the iron.' They began cleaning
pistons with sand and oil, the sound of metal on metal a forbidden music in
the silent valley.
Chapter 3: Extraction
Kael climbed the outside of the Neon Spire to rescue Lyra, a hacker who
wanted to be a body on the ground. He broke the glass, and for the first time
in her life, Lyra felt the wind. They jumped into the night, a parachute of
stolen silk slowing their descent as sirens wailed behind them
