Horror show

Miyako trembled with fury as she stared at Lowri. "Why me!?" she scoffed. 

"To expose you proper. Since your collaborator gave you one last lifeline, I feel it's my duty to be the one to expose you for the fraud you are." 

"And you believe that it was I who was controlling her. Well, it seems I'll have to stay down here so that you can see I'm up to no shenanigans," Vasily chuckled as he turned to Miyako. "Miyako, come here for a moment." 

"What is it?" Miyako grumbled as she trudged over to Vasily. 

Vasily leaned in close to Miyako's ear. "Sadly for this next match, you'll have to make the moves on your own," he whispered.

"WHAT!?"

"Oh, fear not. It's just the physical moves. The knowledge to make the best moves is already within your mind."

"It is?"

"Yes, you just need to move those hands of yours yourself. Not too hard for a curler, right?"

Miyako scowled, but begrudgingly agreed to play as requested.

"Seems your pep talk is over. Now allow me to expose you, cheater," Lowri glared as she opened by moving her pawn to e4.

Miyako scowled as she realized she had complete freedom of movement. "Why can't he just move my arms for me? Even if I have the knowledge, it's easier when someone else does all the work," she thought as she moved her pawn to e5.

As soon as Lowri moved her knight to f3 though, Miyako began to smile. "I remember this. That nameless cellmate of mine dared to humiliate me with this. Well now I know how to counter," she thought as she moved her knight to f6.

"So you want to go for it? Perfect. This will expose you as the fraud you are," Lowri thought as she moved her knight to c3.

Miyako chuckled at the move and moved her knight to f6. "Now, come."

"Sure, but first tell me what this move is called," Lowri glared as she captured the pawn at e5 with her knight.

"Uh, stupid?" Miyako shrugged as she captured said knight with her knight.

"Wrong, it's called the Halloween Gambit," Lowri stated as she moved her pawn to d4.

"Halloween? Why? That shit's for kids," Miyako scoffed as she moved her knight to c6.

"Never been to an adult Halloween party?" Lowri asked, a slight smile forming on her lips as she moved her pawn to d5.

"I only go to victory parties," Miyako scoffed as she moved her knight to e7.

The slight smile on Lowri's face expanded into a full one as she moved her pawn to e5.

"Get that creepy smile off your face," Miyako snarled as she captured the pawn at d5 with her e-knight.

"What? My smile's one of my charm points. Oh, is it because I'm hairless that I look more creepy than cute? Ah, too bad; creepy's the vibe I'm going for here," Lowri snickered as she captured the knight at d5 with her knight.

"Ugly's more like it," Miyako spat as she captured the knight at d5 with her knight.

"Words of a fraud," Lowri smirked as she captured the knight at d5 with her queen.

"Ah, that must be it. You're just accusing me of cheating because you're bald and miserable," Miyako scoffed as she moved her pawn to c6.

"I'm bald, but I'm embracing it. Happy in other words," Lowri proudly huffed as she moved her queen to e4.

"Fucking liar," Miyako hissed as she moved her pawn to f5.

Upon seeing the move, Lowri began laughing hysterically.

"THE HELL ARE YOU LAUGHING AT!?"

The laughter quieted as Lowri faced Miyako with a smirk. "Tell me, how much do you know about chess?"

"'How much'!? I KNOW ALL!"

"And that right there, is your confession, cheater," Lowri smirked as she moved her e-pawn to f6 and removed the pawn on f5. "Check."

Miyako's jaw hung open as she scowled in disbelief. "Um, excuse me? Are you stupid? YOU just cheated!"

"Wanna fight it?"

"Why wouldn't I!?"

Vasily chuckled and walked over and stopped the clock. "Miyako... have you never heard of en passant?"

"On-puh-what?"

"A perfectly legal move, which was just played out before you. I'm afraid, you have no case," Vasily smugly shrugged as he restarted the clock.

"Oh? I thought you 'knew all' about chess. En passant's something even beginners know, but you didn't know what it was? Could it be?" Lowri snickered.

"SHUT UP! SHUT UP!" Miyako fumed as she moved her bishop to e7.

"Oh look, she's broken," Lowri sneered as she captured the bishop at e7 with her f-pawn.

Miyako's eyes bulged in rage. "YOU FUCKING BITCH! CHECK!" she shouted as she slammed her queen down on a5.

With a silent smirk, Lowri nudged her bishop to d2.

"DON'T FUCK WITH ME!" Miyako fumed as she moved her queen to a4.

Clunk!

Miyako's eyes widened in horror as Lowri captured her queen at a4 with her queen. Color slowly vanished from her face as her breathing began to get heavy.

"Oh, look at that. You blundered like a fraud that doesn't know how to play chess," Lowri scoffed.

Miyako then let loose a terrified scream as she captured the pawn at e7 with her king.

"And that's the end of it," Lowri thought as she moved her queen to h4.

"NO! I CAN'T LOSE! VASILY SAID I HAD THE GIFT!" Miyako cried as she moved her king to e8.

"And the confessions keep coming," Lowri sighed as she castled queen's side.

"YOU SHUT UP! He was controlling me... CONTROLLING MY BODY AGAINST MY WILL FROM THE START!" Miyako shouted as she moved her rook to f8.

"And you don't seem to mind," Lowri scowled as she moved her rook to e1.

"I WAS IN HELL! I couldn't control my movements, couldn't speak a word... YOU WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND!" Miyako screamed as she moved her king to f7.

"No, I wouldn't, because I don't cheat. Check," Lowri glared as she moved her rook to e7.

Tears began to ooze out of Miyako's eyes as she moved her king to g6. "Please, help me. I want to get out of here. I need to go back to curling."

"Should've invested more in learning chess than relying on a remote-controlled cheating scheme. Checkmate," Lowri huffed as she moved her queen to g5.

"White has won," the board declared.

The guards quickly descended on Miyako, restraining her as she screamed and struggled with all her might.

"NO! I DON'T WANNA DIE!" Miyako cried as Vasily approached her with syringe in hand.

"Sorry, but you failed. And here Ivo thought you'd dominate since curling is ice chess. A conversation to be had when you see him again," Vasily chuckled as he shoved the syringe into Miyako's neck.

"NOOOO! AGH, BLAAAAAAGHHHHHH!" Miyako screamed as pain cursed through her entire body.

Then a moment later, silence. Miyako Suwabe was dead.
