### **Chapter One: Treachery **Deep in the "dump," where light dared not penetrate, the silence was broken only by the frequent clang of metal. Zaid, a boy no older than seventeen, was playing with a ball fashioned from scraps of cloth and rusty wire. The ball seemed to be a magnet attached to his foot, moving with the agility of a ghost among the mounds of scrap.

From afar, Zanus watched with a cool smile. Zanus was zid's brother, his friend, and his coach.

"Zid, today is your day!" Zanus said confidently. "The scouts from the 'Bercilius' club are waiting for us at the western exit of the dump. Your skills will take you to the stars, brother."

Zid didn't doubt him for a moment. He wiped the sweat from his brow with his dirty hand and smiled innocently. "Do you think they'll be impressed with my skills, Zanus?"

"Impressed?" Zanus replied, placing a hand on his shoulder. "They'll be amazed!"

At the exit, there was no scout committee. Instead, there was a sleek black car, and men in suits with expressionless faces. Zanus approached one of them, exchanging a piece of paper and a small briefcase.

"Zanus? Where are the coaches?" Zaid exclaimed in surprise.

Zanus turned, but the tenderness in his eyes was gone, replaced by an unyielding coldness. He got into the car without looking back and said coldly, "Zaid... talent without money is just extra waste in this dump. You sold your contract to these men to make ends meet.". Dioni... !Th car sped off, leaving a cloud of dust. Zid stood alone, the worn ball slipping from his hand and crashing against the rocky ground. At that moment, something inside him broke, and he felt a strange heat in his eyes. Invisible golden threads began to appear in his vision, tracing the tracks of the fleeing car. Zid didn't cry. Instead, he whispered to himself as the men approached to force him to work:

**"I will rise from this rubble, Zanus... and I will make the fields you run on a grave for your pride."**
