Chapter 0:

PROLOGUE: The End of an Eternal Boredom

The Bored God's Descent

Beyond the limits of mortal perception, far past the spiral galaxies slowly twirling in their cosmic dance, there exists a dimension unbounded by the laws of space and time. That place is Zenith — a magnificent kingdom suspended upon the pillars of creation itself, upholding the entire fabric of the universe's reality. Here, the sky is neither blue nor black, but an endless tapestry of aurora woven from stardust, newborn galaxies, and the remnants of supernovae radiating golden light.

At the heart of that splendor — incomprehensible to any mortal mind — stands a throne carved from the core of an ancient star. And upon that throne sits an existence that transcends all things.

The figure appears as a young man, his face sculpted by cosmic perfection. His hair is as white as frozen void, flowing gently, untouched by gravity, while his eyes hold within them the depth of billions of solar systems slowly spinning in silence. The name of this existence is Ursilium.

He is no mere king, nor simply a ruler. Ursilium is the Supreme God. He is the beginning of all beginnings and the arbiter of all ends. Speak his name in any corner of the universe, and black holes will cease their devouring, nebula storms will still, and lesser gods across every dimension will prostrate themselves in absolute fear and reverence. Every living being across the entire universe — every last one of the trillions of lives within it — bows beneath the soles of his feet.

And yet, behind all that absolute magnificence, Ursilium's eyes radiate an emotion rarely associated with a god: emptiness.

Ursilium props his chin on one hand, gazing toward an enormous crystal orb floating in the center of that boundless chamber. The crystal projects billions of lives simultaneously — from intergalactic empires locked in war, to a single ant on a forgotten planet carrying crumbs of food. All of it falls under his watch. All of it unfolds exactly according to the order he established since the very first tick of time.

"Thousands of years..." Ursilium murmurs, his voice resonating like a bell whose toll shakes the foundations of space and time. "No... perhaps millions? Or billions? Time has long lost its meaning to me."

He exhales slowly. The breath that leaves his lips creates a ripple of energy that births three new stars in the constellation Orion, far away in the physical universe — yet he doesn't even blink at the realization.

Absolute power, it turns out, is a curse.

To be an omniscient and omnipotent entity means losing the most precious thing a consciousness can possess: surprise. Ursilium knows precisely how every civilization will rise, how they will reach their golden age, and how they will inevitably crumble beneath the weight of their own greed. He has witnessed that cycle repeat itself billions of times over. He simply sits there, watching from afar, never needing to intervene — because the system he created is far too perfect.

No challenges. No pain, no struggle — and therefore, no true happiness. Everything feels utterly boring. So boring, in fact, that Ursilium's very existence begins to feel as though it's dissolving into the endless monotony.

The softest of footsteps breaks the absolute silence of the throne room. Light as the wingbeat of a butterfly, yet Ursilium knows precisely who approaches.

From behind a pillar of light emerges a woman of breathtaking beauty — one no goddess across the entire cosmos could rival. She wears a silver gown woven from comet threads and the tears of constellations. Her blue hair cascades all the way to the floor like a waterfall of midnight, and a pair of translucent wings radiating the faint glow of galaxies are folded neatly against her back.

She is Mincilia — faithful attendant, right hand of Ursilium, and the sole entity in all of Zenith permitted to stand in the Supreme God's presence without her physical form being shattered by the pressure of his power.

Mincilia approaches gracefully and kneels at the foot of the crystalline steps, bowing her head deeply.

"My Lord Ursilium," Mincilia's voice flows like celestial music, filled with unwavering devotion. "Reports from the Andromeda Galaxy and Zeta Quadrant have arrived. The holy war in Sector Seven has concluded exactly in accordance with your predictions and will. All things remain in perfect equilibrium."

Ursilium does not answer. He doesn't even shift his gaze from the crystal orb, which now displays a planet being ravaged by a meteor shower. He simply stares, hollow.

"My Lord?" Mincilia calls again, this time with a note of concern. It is rare for her master to ignore her reports.

"Mincilia," Ursilium says quietly.

"Your servant is here, my Lord."

"Do you know what the saddest thing about having everything is?" he asks without changing his posture.

Mincilia falls momentarily silent, absorbing the philosophical weight of the question from the entity she reveres most. "I... lack the wisdom to fathom the depths of your thoughts, my Lord. To me, you are all that exists and all that shall ever be. The absence of any shortcoming is your perfection."

Ursilium laughs softly — a dry, mirthless sound. "Perfection. That word used to sound beautiful. But now it feels like a prison. A prison built from eternal routine."

The god rises slowly from his throne. As he stands, all of Zenith trembles faintly in response to his movement. Ursilium descends the crystalline steps, his footsteps measured and deliberate, until he stops directly before Mincilia, who remains kneeling.

"I have decided something, Mincilia," Ursilium says. His tone is different now — the boredom is gone, replaced by an absolute resolve that makes the very air around them grow heavy.

"Whatever decision you make is the law of the universe, my Lord," Mincilia replies, though for reasons she cannot name, unease begins to quietly creep into her heart.

"I am going to retire."

Silence immediately swallows the throne room. As though time itself had frozen — refusing to move forward after hearing those two words.

Mincilia looks up instinctively, breaking etiquette for the first time in her millions of years of service. Her blue eyes, usually as tranquil as a cosmic ocean, are now wide open, flooded with disbelief.

"I — forgive my impertinence, my Lord..." Mincilia's voice trembles. "Did I mishear? You said... r-retire?"

"You heard correctly, Mincilia — my most faithful right hand," Ursilium says with a faint smile. "I am tired. I am sick of sitting upon this throne and doing nothing but watching. I am sick of being an entity that nothing can touch. I want to stop being a god."

Panic floods Mincilia's beautiful face immediately. She prostrates herself, pressing her forehead to the crystal floor with an audible crack.

"No! My Lord Ursilium, I beg of you — take back those words!" she cries, desperation thick in her voice. "You are the foundation of all reality! If you step down from the throne, who will safeguard the balance of the cosmic order? Who will govern the flow of time and the wheel of karma? In all the vast reaches of the universe, there is not a single entity — no matter how great — capable of taking your place!"

"And that is precisely the problem, Mincilia," Ursilium says, lowering his gaze to his kneeling attendant with eyes full of gentle resolve. "I built a system that is too perfect. This universe no longer needs me to keep turning its gears. Everything runs on its own. The sun will continue to rise. Stars will continue to die and be reborn. My absence will not unravel anything."

"But — but that's impossible!" Mincilia raises her head, tears forming at the corners of her eyes, glittering like diamond dust. "My existence, the existence of every Archangel, every cosmic deity — we all live to serve you. If you retire, what purpose do we have? To whom shall we dedicate ourselves?"

Ursilium extends his hand and gently places it upon the crown of Mincilia's head, channeling a warm, soothing energy through his touch. "You can live for yourselves. It is time for all of you to seek the meaning of your existence beyond service to me."

"I refuse!" Mincilia's composure finally breaks. She clutches the hem of Ursilium's robe tightly, abandoning every boundary between god and servant. "I cannot allow you to leave. If you're truly bored, I will create millions of new dimensions for you to destroy! I will summon the ancient dragon gods so you have worthy opponents to fight! But please — please, do not abandon this throne!"

Witnessing the despair of his attendant, Ursilium's heart is momentarily moved — yet his decision has already hardened to the density of a cosmic diamond. Nothing in all the universe could change what the Supreme God has decreed for himself.

"My decision is final, Mincilia," Ursilium says firmly.

Sacred energy begins to radiate from his body. Beneath his feet, an extraordinarily intricate magic circle begins to form and spin — composed of millions of ancient runes that no being has ever laid eyes upon before.

Mincilia feels the staggering power emanating from that circle. It is not the magic of creation or destruction. It is soul transmutation magic. Absolute-tier reincarnation.

"My Lord... you — what are you doing?!" Mincilia tries to move closer, but a gentle barrier of energy pushes her back.

"If I remain in this immortal body, I will never truly experience what it means to be alive," Ursilium explains. His form slowly begins to grow transparent, radiating a blinding white light. "I will erase all of my memories as an absolute entity, seal away my power, and reincarnate."

"Reincarnate?!" Mincilia cries out, throwing herself against the barrier of light with whatever strength she has left. "Where will you go, my Lord?! Please — tell me! Which dimension? As a war god in Asgardia? As a dragon sovereign in the Draconic Realm?!"

Ursilium laughs — and this time, it is a sound unrestrained and utterly genuine. A laugh that Mincilia has never heard in all the ages since the dawn of creation.

"No, Mincilia. I have no desire to be a god, a king, or any manner of superior being," Ursilium says, his gaze drifting toward one of the projections inside his crystal orb.

The projection shows a small solar system orbiting a yellow dwarf star. Within it, a tiny blue planet dominated by vast bodies of water. An entirely ordinary planet. One that doesn't even possess a notable level of magic or cosmic civilization.

"I will reincarnate as an ordinary human," says Ursilium, his voice beginning to fade along with his form. "On a planet called Earth."

"Earth?! An ordinary human?!" Mincilia sinks to the floor, her mind unable to process what she has just heard. Humans are fragile creatures — short-lived, prone to sickness, shackled by every conceivable physical limitation. Why would the entity who holds the entire universe in his grasp wish to become something so utterly breakable?

"Yes," Ursilium smiles gently. "I want to know what it feels like to be hungry. I want to feel the cold. I want to experience failure, struggle, and the beauty of not knowing. I want to look up at the night sky and wonder what lies beyond it — without already knowing every answer."

The light surrounding Ursilium now blazes so brilliantly it floods all of Zenith. The ancient runes spin faster and faster, forming a vortex of energy that pulls at the god's very existence.

"Farewell, Mincilia," Ursilium says — his final words echoing through every corner of the throne room. "Watch over this place for me."

BLAAASH!

A blinding flash of white light sweeps through the entire chamber, followed by a silent shockwave. When the light fades, the cosmic throne at the center of the room stands empty.

The absolute aura that had always enveloped Zenith vanishes without a trace. The universe continues to turn. Stars continue to shine. But their sole sovereign is gone.

Mincilia remains on the crystal floor, staring at the empty space where her master had stood mere moments ago. Her tears fall and strike the ground, each one blooming into a small crystalline lotus flower upon contact. For a long moment, only silence remains.

Then, slowly, the faithful attendant raises her head. The eyes that had been drowning in despair now burn with a terrifying resolve.

"Planet... Earth..." Mincilia whispers. Her hands curl into fists. "An ordinary human... No. I will not allow you to suffer through the filth of mortal hardship, my Lord."

Mincilia rises to her feet, spreading her cosmic wings wide.

"If Lord Ursilium reincarnates there as a human... then I will go to Earth as well. I will go in disguise, and I will ensure that his life there is perfect — even if I must obliterate that entire planet should a single lowly human dare to cause him even a moment of pain."

Millions of light-years away from the dimension of Zenith, a baby boy has just been born at a modest clinic on the outskirts of a small village on the planet Earth. He cries loudly, greeting his new and mortal world.

A world that has no idea that the sovereign of the entire universe has just joined their ranks.

And somewhere above the cosmic clouds, an impossibly overprotective attendant has already begun her preparations to follow her Lord to that poor, unsuspecting blue planet.
