Ocean life

Once upon a name lived a girl. Her name was Ashly. Ashly was in her mid twenties. One day Ashly came home from a long day of work.   As she placed her car keys on her table she began to feel a strange tingling in her body. It whispered to her "Go to the fridge." Was this a message from my ancestors  whispered Ashly alone in her kitchen. 

Since she did feel quite awfully hungry she made her way to the fridge. Planning to eat a nice cup of noodles with garlic bread.  "What in the world is there a clock doing here?"  Ashly yelled so loud, even her neighbours from down the street could hear her, through their windows.

She was standing at her fridge with a big wall clock in her hands so puzzled. "I didn't put this here" she said out loud. 

Just then she felt the tingling from before growing stronger.  Hearing a voice from behind her say "thank you." She turned her head to see no one. Then a shadow came in front of her. The shadow had a visible creepy white mouth it used to grin.

It pushed her so hard Ashly thought she'd break her neck on the floor. But rather  she was falling while standing. it was tripping her mind so far she was falling. Falling in a void. Ashly was so confused she couldn't even think straight no more.

She closed her eyes and let out in a soft cracking voice "Ancestors is this you I want my mama I want my papa I want my family." When she oped hey eyes she had fallen bottom hard on some wood.  

When she opened her eyes she saw she was on a ship in the middle of the ocean. with the only flag on the ship she could see being a Jolly Roger. But pirates are extinct she thought to herself.

Then she saw someone with a weapon come up to her. He had a sword with him.  She said "Where am I what year is it?"   

The pirate responded "You are on board my ship and the year is 1700." So the golden age of piracy Ashly said so quietly in her sleeve no one could hear her.

"What's your name?" The pirate said to her. "Ashly spelled A S H L Y what are you guys names?" The pirate in front of her put the sword away in his coat and replied "There are hundred twenty five of us aboard the ship. Seventy four of them are not above it."

He told her he was captain, captain Drake. "You see those fine men there." he said pointing to them with his full left hand to a bench. Ashly looked there to see eight others.

Drake continued moving his hand further and further down the bench as he said "That's our first mate  Fortunate. Besides him is our sails master.."  "Sailing master" The guy corrected him. 

"Seaborn, and one of are gunners we got um I think 7 of em this one's Guy.  You see we got 5 of these power monkeys I think this one is the son of a gunner Pompeii.  let me guess we have I'd say 20 boatswains this being um..." 

" It's Basile B, A, S ...I, L, E" Baisle told the  captain.  Drake nodded as he moved on to the last three.

"This is our loved  one and only surgeon Savory. Our two cooks Christopher and Christian." "The other forty must be somewhere else because we can't see them." Drake finished .   

Ashly thought he was done but then he said "You are the only girl here Angela died because we couldn't really get her an orange in time. and that dude there is useless he lost all four limbs being the bravest fighter we'd ever gonna meet."

" Believe it or not, but that thin guy dancing around back there is our Quartermaster  Quant." When he finally stopped talking Drake leaned his back against the boat wall.   

Then out in the distance very far away Ashly saw something. She wasn't sure what it was. Then out in the distance very far away Ashly saw something. She wasn't sure what it was. Out of the blue Fortunate got out his seat and ran up to the big watch tower thing. He got a good look and said "It's French in coming French ship it'd come in near us almost soon.

Then he got to where the Jolly Roger was and put a French flag over it. While some of the others covered up every other canon. Then Fortunate said lets take this below deck. Ashly wasn't sure what was going on all she knew was that now Drake was holding her hand and taking her with him as they went down the deck with all the others."

"Hey what's your deal!" The limbless guy called out. Fortunate stopped in his tracks to get him "Sure Olaf come join voting."

Voting? Ashly thought to herself. Then she saw herself in a big room with 125 others in a dark almost basement. With the only light being a few candles.

She could hear every single one of them shouting. It was so loud! Drake who was right beside her saw how overwhelmed she was and put his arm around her and asked "Not used to this many people?"

"Of course I am sometimes over 1000 people in assemblies and crowds, but only the event organisers would talk." Ashly said.

They explained to her how voting works. Unless you are a kid you can vote. Each person's vote is worth one point. The boat goes with the majority side. The only person who doesn't have to say their vote out loud is the Quartermaster, because he can add his while writing the scores down.

After all that talking and hands. Quant said the finale tally 119 - 1 we are going to rob the French ship."

Who voted no. They all asked. "Come on Quant say." Someone said. "How am I meant to know?" Quant said. "Because you are the one tallying and paying attention." one of the guys said.  "Wow we have a traitor don't we guys" Drake said.

"Don't look at me like that." Quant replied. "You are the one who voted no captain are you having brain fog by any chance?" 

"I only did that, because I prefer we burn their ship throw them over water and take the ship too, I am not a coward!" Drake shouted. "That's a very stupid idea." Christian told him as he slapped the back of Drake's head. "Hey" Drake called out. Guy said to the crowd "Lets vote if we should change the captain." After a few seconds Quant said "He stays captain 0-0."

Then literally out of nowhere Olaf tells Drake "Punch yourself in the face or I am deoting you back to first mate." "No." Drake told Olaf. "Do it right now." Olaf declared. 

 Fortunate held Drake's arm shaking it as he looked up at him and said "What if he's for real and he takes the captain job, if you get demoted back to first mate. What will happen to me?" "If he's not the captain can I be it?" asked Quant. He added on "After all Drake was very upset when he became captain"

"Huh?" Ashly was puzzled as she thought ,upset about being a captain? Quant said "When he became our captain he told me he was a failure and was very unhappy.

Quant told her "Back when he was first mate every morning he'd come to me and say "One day I'm gonna be your Quartermaster"." 

"Um not to alarm you but we got to go steal their booty now."Pompeii said to the others.  

So thirty of them and Ashly went back on deck to act like a regular merchant ship. "Hello fellow crew men." Captain Drake said when they came in ear range.

Just then they uncovered the Jolly Roger and the rest of the crew came up the deck too. The scared French sailors gave them all their booty and sailed away. 

In aww of  watching the pirates steal from the French. Ashly  agreed with her fate when the guy (captain Drake) pointed  out his sword to her asking "Since you are  stuck here wanna be a part of our ship?  After she said yes he told her "Jolly good then."
