Chapter 2:

Myriad July

Don't Tell Julie

Caution

Highly visible and descriptive on a yellow ribbon taped side by side of the school hallway showing in what police are calling a The July Crimes. Through the corridors of the school a teacher was murdered during the heated hours of summer school. Detectives had arrived to the scene witnessing piles of red spread like butter on toasted bread; and left was the body of Ms. Giulietta Killiment in one of the closets downstairs by the locker room gymnasium. It had been moved and placed in a specific area for anyone to suspect who or what had made this carnage possible.

"The boys finished dusting for prints. Nothing was caught on camera, it was all distorted. This going to happen again?" Said detective Ron Williams. A young and new detective at the scene attempting to decipher what had once been committed before joining the crew in a new town.

"The Recreation Division are not up for another cancelation from last years festivities." Responds detective Ben Goodmen. An older man that had experienced the wrath of someone or something taking action and murdering couples during the 4th of July festival a year ago.

"Go on- clear and secure this area, we're keeping the school closed until after the 4th." Said Goodmen. He walks into the classroom leaning over the yellow ribbons that cover the door, bloody footprints scattered on the floor and smeared handprints all over where Ms. Killiment was before her brutal death.

Wednesday, July 2nd.

Julia Hayes is in a police car being driven home by her father David Hayes- a cop during the day and father by night. David is taking his daughter back home from spending time with her at the police department. Simply helping her father with boxes of files to move, though detectives asked her more questions concerning the crime that had occurred a day ago. Julia sits quiet in the car trying to forget what had happened, but her mind is aimed towards her father who thinks it's the murder that's on her mind. For Julia Hayes, it's her would-be stepmother that concerns her at the same time having witnessed a bloody blade planted into the school lockers with a ring attached. She can't help but think to herself if that was a sign of things to come in her future. David wonders if she is upset over happenings of her summer school teacher or the new women in his life.

"..How you holdin' up-." Said David as he turns to her briefly while driving.

"Dad, really- I'm fine." She interrupts him with a slight attitude. David continues driving without concluding a conversation.

"Juliet is inside. Try to be nice." Said David giving her a heads up that his girlfriend Juliet Rades is inside the house as he parks his police car in the driveway. Julia Hayes doesn't respond and steps out of the car to walk towards the red front door of the house. She finds Juliet who try's to initiate a greeting, but Julia Hayes ignores her and continues walking passed the living room through the small hallway that leads to her bedroom. Juliet turns to see her boyfriend David as he gives her a gentle look giving a sense of compassion.

After about forty five minutes of a nap, Julia Hayes stays relaxed on her bed while she clicks on her phone movie apps. Her room is filled with film posters, actors and tv series of sorts pertaining to her favorite ones she watches. Julia Hayes enjoys movies and having great discussions about them. Her friends normally pick on her at times for watching a lot and call her..Julia the movie buff. She's constantly criticizing and dissecting scenes to further educate herself into one day becoming a film director.

Knock! Knock!

"..Come in." Said Julia Hayes thinking it would be her stepmother. Instead it's her friends having come visiting her to have a congregation over the school closing and the incident that happened.

"Hey supergirl! How you holdin' up?" Said Juliane Sanchez- another schoolmate that happens to carry a similar name to hers enters the bedroom along with Jewels Miller who is dressed in her pink rosed pajamas.

"Jul!...uh...Hey!" Mummers Jewels quickly remembering that Julia didn't want to be called by her own name. "You could've ask me that, I was there as well!" Said Jewels to Juliane.

"Not you too! My dad asked the same thing." Said Julia Hayes.

"Everyone was talking about it. It's all over the news. They found Kill's body in the gym!" Responds Jewels Miller with excitement as she finds everything that is happening amusing.

"Wait a minute- you said you saw Mrs. Kill hacked up!" Responded Juliane as she wondered about the long talk they had from what was seen during summer school while walking towards Julia's home.

"WHOOPS! I did say that didn't I!"

"I heard that she was cut up so bloody, they had to rename her Mrs. Killed." Said Juliane.

"We only saw a knife stuck up on one of the lockers in the hallway." Said Julia Hayes.

"It was Rediculous!" Said Jewels.

"How Red? Like redrum red?" Said Juliane.

Both Jewels and Juliane look at each other remembering a time when they watched one of Julia Hayes favorite spooky movies with her. And nearly in an instant, they begin to sing out-loudly.

REDRUM REDRUM! Hahaha!

"GUYS! Seriously, someone died!" Said Julia Hayes with a look of disgust.

"Anyone else was there?" Said Juliane.

"Supposedly Jules- not me, the other one. You know, the blond who gossips until she makes her lip gloss rotten." Said Jewels.

"She was probably there for extra credit." Said Julia Hayes.

"You think she heard us talking about Mrs. Killiment's marriage last year?" Said Jewels.

"Hmm..her wedding ring was on the knife against the wall." Said Julia Hayes.

"Are you guys serious right now?! Ain't no way blond gosp committed that murder." Said Juliane.

"Well, who else was going to do it, another girl name Julie?!" Said Jewels.

Knock! Knock!

Julia's bedroom door slightly opens as Juliet Rades peeks into the room holding a knife with a smile on her face. Julia, Jewels and Juliane turn to Juliet.

"Hey girls! Dinner is ready, and the meat is cut up well done for yea!"

The girls in the bedroom stare at David's girlfriend with a shockingly eye'd face widening their unwelcoming taste of fear.
