Artificial Earthquake

Boom! Boom!

The giant robots attacked the examinees with fists like cannonballs. The ground trembled, and huge clouds of dust rose.

"Whoa!"

The battlefield erupted into chaos. The examinees no longer cared about the exam and started running for their lives.

One-point, two-point, and three-point robots all gathered as well, their sensors locking onto Yuto.

After clearing the other examinees away, they aimed at Yuto too.

Yuto watched the whole process. The robots had finally gathered. That made things much easier.

A faint smile rose on his lips. "Interesting. These robots have some intelligence. They know to drive the others away first. Planning to use a swarm against me?"

"Good. That's what I wanted too. If you hadn't driven the others away, I would have been afraid of hurting them."

The glass-like cracks in the air on both sides of Yuto grew larger and larger, covering the area around him like a net.

The robots gave Yuto no time to react. They attacked at once.

Lasers, shells, missiles... attacks kept coming.

Their massive metal fists smashed toward Yuto.

The wind from their fists roared.

The examinees watching from a distance were stunned. It looked like a war.

Many examinees shut their eyes, unable to keep watching.

With that many attacks coming down, they thought Yuto would be lucky if he survived.

Tenya Iida looked at Yuto worriedly and clenched his fists. "Damn it. Is this really U.A. High School? Can an ordinary student survive that kind of attack?"

All Might looked tense too. His palms were damp with cold sweat, but there was also a little expectation in his heart.

Could Yuto win?

Of course, in the monitoring room, All Might was the only one thinking that. No one else believed Yuto had a chance.

These were three giant robots plus a group of smaller ones. The pressure was terrifying.

The attacks were almost on top of him.

Just as everyone thought the result was already decided, the barrage crashed down around Yuto.

Boom! Boom!

The continuous roar filled Battle Center B. Dust covered the area, and the ground shook.

All Might suddenly grew even more nervous. Was it over?

The crowd watched the dust, waiting for it to clear.

They waited for the final result.

Guilt flickered across Present Mic's face. "Maybe I went too far. I shouldn't have used three of them to test Yuto. I already called Recovery Girl. She's on her way. He will be fine..."

Before he could finish, his voice stopped. His eyes widened as he stared at the screen.

On the screen, after the dust cleared, Yuto was completely unharmed.

Around him, spiderweb-like cracks surrounded his body. The cracks had blocked him completely and shattered every attack from the robots.

That could not be real.

All Might's voice trembled. "Yuto's Quirk shattered all of their attacks!"

The teachers in the monitoring room were stunned. Win or lose, blocking that round of attacks was already enough to prove Yuto's strength.

But Yuto wasn't satisfied with only that. His eyes sharpened as he said coldly, "Are your attacks over? Then it's my turn to counterattack."

"Magnitude One."

"Two."

"Three."

Yuto used Tremor: Earthsplitter and struck the air hard with both hands, shattering the atmosphere and controlling the earthquake's intensity.

The ground began to shake. This was a real earthquake. Many buildings swayed as if they might collapse.

Cracks spread densely across the ground. The pavement became uneven, and parts of it sank.

The robots' huge bodies began to shake as they lost their footing. Not enough. Still far from enough.

"Six."

"Seven."

"Eight."

The ground collapsed outward from Yuto's position and spread toward the robots.

Only the ground beneath Yuto's feet remained solid. Everything nearby had sunk, as if it had become a swamp.

Boom! Boom!

The ground kept throwing up huge clouds of dust. Explosions boomed again and again. The giant machines helplessly sank underground, and the lower-level robots were swallowed even faster.

The scene fell dead silent.

None of the examinees had ever seen such a terrifying Quirk, a Quirk that seemed beyond nature.

They froze, their minds going blank. It was too powerful. An artificial earthquake.

Before long, all of Battle Center B looked like a disaster zone. Every robot had sunk underground as if it had never appeared.

After the dust dispersed, not a single robot could be seen on the ground.

Ochaco had watched everything from close range. Her heart pounded, and it took her a long time to speak. "Yuu-kun, you're too strong."

"Not bad," Yuto said calmly. "I destroyed enough robots before the exam ended. Otherwise I might have failed."

Many examinees were trembling, cold sweat running down their backs.

Looking at the disaster-like scene, they would never have believed it was man-made if they had not seen it themselves.

The other examinees now looked at Yuto with awe. It was not only admiration for strength, but also admiration for a hero.

They understood that Yuto might become a legendary hero in the future.

Someone like All Might. Yuto had that chance, and no one dared to question it.

In the monitoring room, the examiners stayed silent. Yuto's Quirk had gone beyond everyone's expectations.

Shattering the air and causing earthquakes. That was powerful enough.

Midnight was the first to react. "I think Yuto is wonderful. He would suit my lessons very well."

Huh?

The other U.A. teachers froze.

Then they realized that Midnight had taken the first chance to claim him.
