Chapter 19:
My Hero Academia: Gura Gura no Mi
Black mist spread across the USJ.
"Understood, Tomura Shigaraki," Kurogiri said.
The mist struck without warning.
Yuto and several others were wrapped in darkness before they could react.
What was this?
Yuto's eyes narrowed, but the battlefield shifted around him.
By the time he tried to cut free, he was already gone.
Kurogiri's Quirk was Warp Gate. His black mist acted as a doorway through space, transporting anyone who passed through it to another location.
Yuto, Bakugo, Todoroki, Tokoyami, and several other key fighters vanished.
Only Aizawa, Tsuyu, Mina, and Ochaco remained near the center. Kurogiri's ambush had succeeded.
Shigaraki grinned. "What a frightening kid. That Yuto Kanzaki exceeded my expectations. He even has that disgusting quality that reminds me of All Might." His voice dropped.
"Nomu. Come out. Show him your strength."
A huge figure appeared beside Aizawa.
Its exposed brain gleamed wetly under the USJ lights. Its body was massive, almost dinosaur-like, and the pressure it released was nothing like the ordinary villains around them.
Nomu.
The League of Villains' trump card.
A modified creature prepared by All For One to answer All Might's power. Its Quirks were Shock Absorption and Super Regeneration. In raw physical strength, it could rival the man himself.
Aizawa reacted instantly. It was still too late.
Boom. Nomu slammed him into the ground with a punch too fast to avoid. Another fist followed.
The floor shook. Dust exploded upward. Blood sprayed across the concrete.
Just like that, Nomu took Aizawa down. The defeat was instant.
"Sensei!"
Ochaco and the others rushed forward.
Villains blocked their path at once.
"Your opponents are us."
They were forced into battle before they could reach him.
Shigaraki looked down at Aizawa with a cold smile.
"Your students are good. Especially Yuto. I'm starting to envy you."
Without Yuto nearby, Ochaco and the others could do little more than struggle to hold their ground.
"Eraser Head," Shigaraki said. "How about we make a deal?"
Kurogiri understood his meaning immediately.
"Yuto Kanzaki has excellent potential. He can combine his Quirk with swordsmanship, and his Quirk can even cause earthquakes. If we could recruit him into the League of Villains, it would benefit us greatly. Our master would likely take an interest in him as well."
Aizawa's body was covered in blood, but his voice stayed hard.
"No."
Shigaraki scratched at his neck.
"Is this what Pro Heroes are like? Be honest. If you refuse, you will die."
He crouched slightly. "I only want to know Yuto's Quirk, his abilities, his background, and everything else about him. Give me that information, and we leave."
Aizawa knew exactly what Shigaraki wanted.
If Yuto ever became part of the League of Villains, the consequences would be unimaginable.
"I'm Yuto's teacher," Aizawa said. "You won't get anything from me."
"Is that so?"
"Don't make me laugh. As a teacher, I won't allow you to harm one of my students."
After spending time with Yuto, Aizawa had already made his decision.
Even if he died, he would keep Yuto under U.A.'s protection.
"Is that worth it?"
"It is."
Kurogiri said, "I suspect our master would be very interested in his Quirk. His talent is rare. We could capture him by force."
"Then let's do that."
Shigaraki's face twisted. He no longer had any patience.
With his order, Nomu began to move again.
Aizawa, Ochaco, Tsuyu, and Mina fell into danger.
Was everything ending here?
On the other side of the USJ, Yuto dropped out of a warp gate.
He fell straight into the flood zone.
Splash. A rubber boat rocked violently under him. He landed close enough to Yaoyorozu that both of them froze for one awkward beat. Yuto coughed.
"That wasn't intentional. More importantly, we were warped here. We need to get back fast. Aizawa-sensei is badly injured, and the situation at the center is dangerous."
He looked across the water.
Villains were everywhere, waiting in the river and around the artificial banks.
"They planned this," Yuto said. "They split us apart and prepared ambushes in each zone. Their goal is to isolate us and defeat us one group at a time."
He glanced at the water beneath the boat.
"Where exactly are we?"
Then the answer came to him. The flood zone. His mouth curved slightly.
"Don't they know what tremors can do to water?"
