Chapter 2:
The mafia boss is my classmate
Allen stood outside the office, pacing as he waited for the school bus.
"Where am I even stuck now? When is this bus finally going to show up?" he muttered to
himself.
Suddenly, a bus pulled up, blaring its horn. When Allen saw the state of the vehicle, his face
twisted in pure disgust.
"What?! No... am I really supposed to go in that?" he screamed toward the sky. "I want my bike
back, you old man!"
Despite his protests, Allen eventually arrived at the school. He looked up, noting that the
building was impressively large.
"Not too bad," he admitted.
He slid his bag off his shoulder and unzipped it, a dark, "mafia-style" smile spreading across his
face. Inside the bag lay an arsenal of guns and other weapons. He chuckled darkly. "Oh man,
this is going to be a lot of fun."
He stood outside the classroom door, waiting for the teacher to call him in. He was already
getting restless. If she isn't my teacher, I'll probably kill her, he thought irritably.
As he stood there fuming, a girl came to a halt right next to him. Allen stared her down
immediately.
"Hey, girl. Why are you blocking the way? Go inside," he snapped.
The girl stared back. She was tall, poised, and undeniably beautiful, but her expression was icy.
"Shut up. I'm waiting for the teacher to call me. By the way, why is a mysterious guy in a mask
standing here? You look like a loser."
Allen's temper spiked instantly. "Watch your tongue, you ugly witch! I'm waiting for the
teacher to call me, too. And my mask is none of your business!"
The girl pointed an accusing finger at him. "You rude jerk! Look who you're calling a witch!"
They stood there, fingers pointed at each other's faces, sparks flying between them. Suddenly,
the door swung open. The teacher stood there, looking far from amused.
"Enough! Stop it, both of you!" she barked.
They froze, still glaring at one another.
"Wait here," the teacher commanded.
"Fine," they muttered in unison.
The teacher turned back to the room. "Class, we have two new students joining us today.
Please welcome Allen Sterling."
The students began to clap as Allen walked in, his posture radiating arrogance and pride.
"Allen, stand right there," the teacher instructed. Once he was in place, she continued, "And
please welcome Regina Macley."
The clapping resumed as Regina entered the room. She took her place beside Allen, and the
teacher gestured to him. "Alright, introductions first. Allen, you go."
Allen looked at the teacher confusedly, then hesitated. "I... I am Allen Sterling. Only child in my
family. And my hobbies..."
He paused. I definitely can't say 'killing' here. "Gaming," he blurted out. "And... whatever. I'm
done."
The teacher made a skeptical face. "Okay... Class, clap for him."
The students gave a confused, lukewarm round of applause. "Fine. Take your seat, kid," the
teacher sighed.
Allen sat down, grumbling, "Whatever."
"Now, your turn, Regina," the teacher said.
Regina stepped forward, her entire aura shifting. She spoke with a charming, polished grace
that suggested she was used to being the center of attention.
"Hi, everyone! I'm Regina Macley. My hobbies include singing, cooking, and sketching. My
favorite subject is Art, and I'm really looking forward to being a great classmate to all of you!"
She gave a graceful bow, and the classroom erupted in loud, enthusiastic applause.
"Excellent. Thank you, Regina. You can take the seat next to Allen."
Regina's face instantly soured. The teacher noticed. "Is something wrong?"
"Nothing," Regina clipped out, heading to her desk.
"Alright class, that's it for today. We'll start the lessons tomorrow. Goodbye!"
As the teacher left, Regina leaned toward Allen and whispered sharply, "See? That is how you
do an introduction."
"I didn't ask for your opinion," Allen shot back.
"I don't need your permission to speak," she countered. "People actually want to hear me."
Allen put his head in his hands, staring at the floor. Where the hell am I?
The Art of War
The art teacher stepped into the classroom, dropping a heavy stack of papers onto the desk
with a loud thud.
The chatter in the room died down instantly.
"Alright, class. Listen up," the teacher announced, adjusting her glasses. "We are starting a
major project assignment today. To keep things fair, I have already pre-selected your groups—
including our new students."
The Announcement
In the back row, Regina leaned back with a confident smirk. She whispered to herself, "I'm
getting a hundred percent on this for sure. Easy."
The teacher began droning through the list of names. Regina waited impatiently until the
teacher cleared her throat for the final pairing.
"And finally... Allen Sterling and Regina Macley will be working together."
The silence that followed was deafening.
In an instant, the expressions on both Allen and Regina's faces curdled into looks of pure
disgust. They turned toward the teacher in perfect, accidental synchronization.
"NO!" they shouted.
The Clash
The teacher flinched, nearly dropping her clipboard. "What was that?"
Allen slammed his hands on his desk, his chair screeching against the floor.
"I can't even stand to look at her face! Now you're trying to trap me in a project with her? I
refuse to handle this hell!"
Regina didn't miss a beat. She whipped around, her eyes flashing with fury as she snapped
back.
"Oh? And you think I'm dying to be in a group with you? I have a grade to maintain, and I am
not failing just because of a brainless airhead like you!"
"Who are you calling an airhead, you ugly witch?!" Allen roared. "Like I'm dying to be near
you!"
The Ultimatum
"ENOUGH!" the teacher screamed.
Her voice echoed off the studio walls. Both students jumped. The teacher glared at them,
pointing a stern finger toward the door.
"I am not changing the groups. If you two don't complete this assignment together, I will fail
you both. Period."
She gathered her things, heading for the exit, but paused at the door for one final blow.
"The submission deadline is tomorrow. Goodbye."
With that, she swept out of the room.
Regina slumped into her seat, clutching her head in her hands. "I can't fail," she groaned.
"Anything but failing."
Allen stared at the ceiling, letting out a long, miserable sigh.
"I don't even want to be in this high school anymore. Why me?"
