Chapter 1:
To live a day more
Two Kingdoms, the Kingdom of Lotus, and the Kingdom of Roses, are enemy kingdoms from a long period of time.
Swirezia Aliwor, belonging to a warrior family from the kingdom of Lotus and the future Queen of the Kingdom was sent to a new battle against the Kingdom of Roses.
Swirezia’s fiance, the current king named Willian Telure, wanted to subdue and conquer their long-lasting enemy kingdom once and for all, making a name for himself and having it written in history books. Swirezia, as everyone in the Kingdom was aware, loved Willian, her position, inherited talents and the sacrifices her family made for the Kingdom, made her a lady of power and prestige.
Swirezia was blindly in love with Willian, the former king had given the throne to his second son solely because of his relationship with Swirezia, knowing the evident love the girl had for him from little. Swirezia’s family was a family of warriors although it had slowly died down, leaving only her mother and her elder brother alive.
Willian Telure showed his love towards Swirezia to get the throne and use her family. He sent her mother to war and she died, then he sent Swirezia’s brother and he was also deemed dead without a corpse to be found. Now, Willian announced another war to the Kingdom of Roses, this time Swirezia was ordered to lead the soldiers. Swirezia was famous for her love towards Willian, she was a pure-hearted and naive girl who although had inherited fighting abilities that run in their family blood but wasn't keen on using the power to take lives.
A week after her engagement to Willian Telure, her brother’s demise was announced and the marriage to be held a month later was postponed indefinitely, with no fixed date given by Willian to her.
Just a few days later, Willian announces waging another war headed by Swirezia who wasn’t informed of it at all. She goes to meet Willian at the castle anxiously. She’d told him countless times how she wasn’t inclined to war, she’d tried persuading him to settle for peace with the Kingdom of Roses. The kings from two generations prior from the Kingdom of Roses never initiated war on their own, the current king was veiled in mystery and surrounded with rumors. He’d never participated in war but would send a proxy in his place, his twin brother or so it was rumored, who wore a mask making it impossible to know his face. It was said that the King had been in a terrible accident when he was little, scarring his face and making it hideous so he didn’t show his face anywhere, although it was only a rumor and truth was yet to be known.
Willian calms the agitated Swirezia and explains his plan to bring down the Kingdom of Roses once and for all. He said to Swirezia that she would just be a figurehead, he’d planned to ambush the enemy soldiers luring them inside the Valley of Fog, the valley known for having mysterious disappearances, just like Swirezia’s father. He asks Swirezia to meet a certain masked man there, the true leader that would make the ambush and attack the enemy. He assured her saying that the enemy soldiers leader never participated in killing himself but just watched from the back. He even promised her that he would announce their wedding’s date at their victory celebration to the people.
So, the very next day Swirezia prepared to march ahead following her fiance’s word. Even though she was scared and reluctant to go ahead with the task Willain had assigned her, she wanted to do it because of her love for him. She thought this would be the last time and that once the war was over, she would come back and marry Willian and live happily ever after just as the princess in the countless commoner’s stories.
Willian on the other hand had no intention of wedding her, he had someone else in his heart, a princess befitting his position from a distant kingdom. She was known for being a beauty who he had the fortune of meeting long ago. Both of them held each other in their hearts or so Willian firmly believed. Swirezia was just a pebble on the road making their smooth road bumpy and who Willian wanted to get rid of. He had slowly planned everything to achieve what he wanted, the throne and the beauty of his heart as well as a plan to bring the enemy kingdom’s fall. For that, he had gotten rid of countless pebbles as he liked to call it, not worthy of his attention, from obstructing his way towards his grand goals.
